I am using Windows 7 and my recycle bin icon is missing from my desktop. Doing the "right click on the desktop, personalize, change desktop icons, check the recycle bin box" doesn't work. Is there anything else I can try?
View 3 RepliesWhenever I single left click on an icon, file, or folder a repetitive popup appears asking if I want to send whatever I clicked on to the recycle bin. The item is sent to the recycle bin regardless.

I know people will try to give the basic solutions so I will just say that I have done all the basic things like check "show on desktop", checking "My Computer" in Desktop icon setting window, viewshow desktop icons, refreshing the icon cache, using 3rd party software like Ultimate Windows Tweaker, using Godmode, and yes.... I restarted my computer. I bought this computer 2 months ago and it has been like this since I got it. I just dragged a shortcut out to the DT but it bugs me.

My current problem is, the desktop icon is missing from the (I think it is called) the systems tray. It's the "tray" at the bottom of the Window's screen. View 6 Replies View RelatedI did a search on this and could not find anything. Once in awhile my desktop will have a bunch of random files I deleted a long time ago. I always empty it too. There won't be anything in the recycle bin or on the desktop and then I'll go to look at it after awhile and some other group of files will be there. I have tried the whole "rd /s /q C:$Recycle.bin" on every drive on my computer. Windows is installed on C:. It isn't even the same group of files each time, it is just random files I've deleted over the past 2 months. I noticed a folder for a demo install of InDesign comes up a lot and says it is in use when I try to re-delete it, could Adobe's crap software be breaking it?
Windows 7 64 Ultimate, 12 gigs of ram, I7 processor. Hard drives are at most half full.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a really annoying problem with desktop icons.I use 2 monitors. 1920x1200 is the main dislay and 1600x1200 is another one for extended desktop. The thing is that I don't need it all the time so I'd like to switch the extended desktop on and off when I need it. Problem is that entering the ex. desktop just somehow changes the grid (it seems that the grid becomes more compressed in vertical direction). That means that it always messes my icons up. I don't know why do the Windows change the grid when I do not change the resolution or just anything that could possibly affect the main screen.
