Realtek AC'97 Audio For VIA (R) Audio Controller Drivers Issue

I just installed Windows 7 and it seems awesome! The biggest problem so far is with audio drivers. I have MSI KT6V LSR motherboard (using VIA KT600 north bridge and VIA VT8237 South Bridge). I got the sound to work by installing drivers, but after I reboot the computer, sound didn't work anymore.

The volume icon in notification area shows a red cross, and when I click it, Windows starts a windows "Detecting problems". After that, it says that reinstalling the driver might help.

Realtek AC'97 Audio (Code 10)
I have a HP Pavilion zv6000

amd 64 3200 +

I used the Realtek AC'97 Audio driver when I had x64 vista business and the sound worked fine.

I used the same driver with Windows 7 and I get and error that says This device cannot start. (Code 10)

Has anyone had luck fixing this issue or had the same problem.

Realtek AC'97 Audio BSOD
So to make this story some what short, I installed Windows 7, it kinda hung on installing the creative sound blaster driver so I assumed it was an audio driver issue from the beginning. After a reboot my sound would always make snap crackle pop / static noises and what not. Totally maddening when you watch tons of stuff online / play games / listen to music.

Strange thing whenever I booted into safemode w/ networking my driver for the sound blaster card would always install first thing no problem. Still, tons of static and the like in the background. The main issue, any reboot would give me a bsod to no end unless I booted in safemode, then there was no issue. Disabled different sound cards until I found out it was the Realtek card. Then I checked out the control panel and there was a driver for realtek, sure enough if I uninstalled and rebooted without going into safemode I NEVER got a bsod. Happy days.

Then I thought I had fixed the static issue but so far I have not. I'm using a creative sound blaster audigy 2 zs card. I've installed the latest beta driver for it(when I thought I had fixed it) to no avail. Sorry it ended up being extremely long :P Sadly, none of this happened in XP, but im blaming it all on the drivers.

Realtek AC'97 On HP Zv5000 - No Audio
So I am trying W7 RC from XP since yesterday on this HP Pavilion zv5000 laptop.  Everything seems to work fine except for the total lack of audio.  When I over the mouse over the dead looking audio controller on the taskbar, I get the message "No Audio Output is installed".

Currently I am using driver 6.0.1.6303 dated 3/10/09 from the Realtek website, but this does not solve the problem.  The device manager tells me that the audio device cannot start (code 10), and the Sound section under Control Panel tells me "No audio devices installed".  Any ideas?

Realtek HD Audio Drivers
in Windows 7 Realtek HD Audio Drivers

I think I have found a solution to this.

I recently had problems my self.

First you have to install this, from Intel: Intel® Desktop Board D910GLDW Audio: Realtek* ALCxxx Driver

Second, install the latest drivers from Realtek, R2.22. I uploaded the zip file to filefront, as their ftp server is running by mouse power. Vista_R222.zip Download File

I hope it will work. for you. I had a lot of trouble finding the solution. Everything has to do with Intel's high definition codec that for some reason Realtek choose not to include in their driver packages.

What Do The Realtek HD Audio Drivers Actually Do?
Apart from the manager where you can manage your connection is there any stability or sound quality improvement. It definately fixes my Unreal engine 3 BSOD's, but why could that be?

Installing Realtek Audio Drivers
I've spent a couple days trying to install the Realtek audio drivers onto my machine, but I can't get the installer to work properly. It looks like it's copied a lot of files to C:Program Files (x86)Realtek, but after I restart there are only four files copied there and the drivers haven't been successfully installed.

These are the only drivers I've had trouble with, and I was wondering if someone could give me directions on exactly how to install the drivers. No one else seems to have had trouble installing them, so I must be doing something wrong.

AMD-8111 AC'97 Audio Controller Driver
I just updated from Vista Ultimate 64 to Windows 7, Surprise it went very well except so far for sound. It did tell me that it would be a problem. So far WinTV 1600 is only program not working but I just started. Office 2007 took the upgrade. I was not able to get a performance rating, computer locked up I had to hard reset. All my files are intact, This is from Windows 7 to the Windows 7 forums pretty cool.

I need a Win 7-compatible driver for a Intel(r) 82801BA/BAM AC'97 Audio Controller. It is a sound card that is embedded into the motherboard. I have searched for days but cannot locate a driver that works. The few I found said they work but do not.

Win 7 RC X64 - Realtek AC97 Audio Drivers Issue
I'm having a problem with the default installed Realtek AC97 drivers on Windows 7RC x64 (clean install.) Motherboard and Processor come from an HP dx5150 AMD Athlon 64 3500+, 1.75gb ram, onboard Realtek AC97 chipset.

Now, the drivers seem to install just fine, and there's no listed problem in the device manager.  But I'm not getting any audio from my speakers at all. I've tried various Realtek drivers for Vista x64 and XP x64 as well as drivers from the HP website for my motherboard. The audio meter in 7 shows that I should be getting audio, but I'm not.

Realtek Audio Drivers And Stereo Mix Sound Problem
I Built my computer recently on christmas day. I got all the drivers and my motherboard came with sound drivers however I got the Realtek Drivers for my board since they were not on the disc (Or for some reason did not get installed) But anyways the drivers are all working fine i've had no problems with my computer at all yet however whenever i try to record or transmit on ventrilo (VOIP) with Stereo Mix there is no sound. When i record on audacity with stereo mix nothing is recorded. There is just no sound.

The option is for stereo mix DOES exist and i know for sure that my motherboard has stereo mix. My friend also built a computer around the same time (Christmas break) with most of the same parts. He has my exact motherboard and his is working perfectly fine. The mobo im using is an EVGA X58. To anyone who can help I thank you and i will respond if you need to know any specs.

Sigmatel Audio Drivers Won't Install
Have a tablet PC that I just installed Seven onto. Even though it's an old box, Windows update found nearly all of the drivers. The one it didn't find is for the AC97 Sigmatel audio.

So, I grabbed the drivers I used for Vista (they're actually XP drivers) and tried to install them. Did this again and again, using different compatibility modes every time. Got no indications of failure, but never worked, either.

Tried removing the device and having Windows Update search for a driver. No luck.

Tried installing driver from selecting from list. Only Sigmatel driver in the list is for HD -- which I don't have.

Even tried the MS WDM driver -- and it refused to install it.

I read in another thread that there are supposedly generic AC97 drivers --but I can't figure out how to install them.

The relevant driver files from Vista are STAC97.sys and staco.dll -- which tells me this is a STACS AC97 audio chip. But I just can't figure out how to get a driver installed.

My Frontal Audio Panel Doesn't Work - Drivers
I have a IV880-10 (viewed in CD) AsRock motherboard, "Intel core 2 cpu" , 4coredual-VSTA.

When I had winXP, the front audio panel works perfectly but now with 7057 they won't work. I had installed the last audio codecs from realtek but the motherboard drivers (from CD) are incompatible and they don't let me install it on the 7057.

I tried to install them with the compatibility mode (Vista and XP) , but after the restart Windows 7 was damaged and started a "restore system".

So... frontal audio don't are my life, but i like them because they are very confortable to connect my speakers to mp3, ipod, and nother devices.

I'm a little newbie about this, so please can anyone tell me what have I to do to make my frontal audio panel works?

Do I need to download the 4coredual-VSTA drivers from asrock.com ? (bios?, audio?, hdd?)

Or simply is the 7057 that in this moment doesn't support my motherboard front panels?

Realtek HD Audio Enhancements Error
It's been about 2 years since I last had this problem on Vista, but it seems that it's happening again with Windows 7.

Windows has detected that audio enhancements for the following device are causing problems

Speakers(Realtek High Definition Audio)

Disabling the enhancements gives me sound again, but I know there was a solution with Vista.

It first happened today after 3 weeks of using the R2.34 drivers without incident, but now both that and the new R2.35 drivers are doing the same thing. Has anyone else had this problem or know the solution?

Realtek HD Audio - Wrong Codec
i'm having issues with the realtek HD audio drivers. i just installed the latest version (2.24 i think) and i have no sound. note, i did not have a prior working version under windows 7 - i just installed windows 7 RC today for the first time.

one possible issue is that it appears to be using the wrong codec - i believe that i need the ALC882 codec, but in windows 7, it appears to have installed the ALC885 codec.

anyone know how to change the codec?
