Radeon 3850 AGP Version - Driver Fails
Having spent hours trying everything from the Vista drivers that came with the card, to latest ATI Catalyst drivers, to those for similar cards from other manufacturers (mine is from HIS), the adaptor is still shown as "not working properly" in the device manager and reverts to the standard VGA driver. Interestingly, the Catalyst app is also bringing up an error stating that the ATI driver is not installed.
Has anyone else come across this and have a solution?

Radeon HD 3850 AGP, Driver Doesn't Work
I have Radeon HD 3850 AGP and Windows 7, and I tried to do almost everything ... I installed 9.12 drivers, 9.12 drivers with adding CL_91526 from the topic above), 9.11 drivers, 9.11 drivers with Hotfix (ATI), 9.11 drivers with adding CL_91526, manual driver install by right click . Absolutely no changes and everytime the same ... During and after installing (before reboot) no changes in Device Manager, having "ATI Radeon 3850 " (or "ATI Radeon 3800 series" or something like that...) with yellow triangle and Microsoft Co. driver. And after reboot no changes with it, an error message with something like "Driver didn't install correctly, please install proper driver" ( though in ATI install log you can see that everything was installed succesfully). So after reboot I still see my VGA like "ATI Radeon 3800 series" with Microsoft driver and of course no changes in monitor resolution and all. If I try to delete microsoft driver (and device), and then install radeon drivers , during installation I absolutely just don't have any VGA in Device manager. And after reboot Windows 7 "finds" VGA and install from internet microsoft driver, so I can see "ATI Radeon HD 3850 (Microsoft Corporation WDDM 1.1)" in Device Manager. I think that radeon drivers don't install (or don't install correctly), and Windows 7 ignores (or doesn't see) them.

Sapphire Radeon HD 3850 AGP + Win7 X64 = Code 43
My m'board is Gigabyte GA-K8U-939 with Athlon X2 2.6 GHz and 3GB DDR. Windows 7 x64 detected the card but had an yellow symbol with the status code 43. Aero could not be enabled because of that. A poster torrentg seems to have sorted out this particular issue for a lot of people. I tried all his suggestions but the code 43 exists.

Powercolor 3850 AGP Driver Problems
I recently installed Windows 7 (64 bit) on my computer and I have yet to get working drivers for my Poworcolor 3850 AGP card. I've tried all the Catalyst suites, inlcuding those with hotfixes. I've tried manually installing multiple drivers through the Device Manager and still no dice. Everything else hardware wise runs just fine. Any ideas?

Sapphire HD 3850 AGP Card Driver Not Working In Win7
I have a Sapphire Radeon HD3850 AGP card in my system but windows will not install the driver from the latest release of the ATI Catalyst driver install. Instead it defaults to the Standard VGA From what i have read on these forums i may need to change some information the CH87739.inf file for the driver. I see a memeber called torrentg had posted a modified .inf file but the download limit has been reached. Is there any chance of posting again? Or perhaps positing its contents into the replay.

ATI Radeon HD 3850 Graphics / Video Driver Install Problem
Installed win 7 rc fine. Downloaded win 7 driver from amd for my hd 3850, ati shows in windows explorer. But device manager tells me I have a standard video card. Try to install manually and device manager tells me that I already have the best drivers for my card and that`s it. i have three partitions: xp professional, vista ultimate and win7 rc. Ati xp drivers work fine, vista drivers also fine. Is there any trick I can use to install Win7 drivers for HD3850. I heard some users installed the HD3850 driver for Win7 RC and worked fine.

ATI HD 3850 AGP Graphics Card Causes Lockups
I'm testing the Windows 7 beta and I'm having problems with my graphics card, system hard freezes and requires pressing reset button to continue. Upon reboot, if I disable graphics driver and run in vga mode these hard freezes no longer occur. But the trade-off is that I have no 3d accelleration, can't play any games. I have tried ati's catalyst 8.x for vista and 9.x for vista as well as the beta release for Win 7, all drivers load and appear to work but system will freeze when 3d acceleration occurs, ie when games load. I have a mobile hard drive tray installed to easily switch out hard drives and this only occurs when using the Windows 7 installation, I also have Win xp and and Win 2000 on other hard drives and the graphics work properly with the other systems(same configuration just different os with their respective drivers). I can't help but think it is a driver issue with win 7 and my graphics card. Below is detail from the dxdiag report. Any discussion as to why this is happening.

Install AGP Drivers For HD 3850, 3650, 2400 PRO
Instructions for installing ATI HD 2400 PRO AGP, ATI HD 3850 AGP, ATI HD 3650 AGP, ATI HD 3450 AGP, ATI HD 4650 AGP, ATI HD 2600 PRO AGP ALL MODELS x86 32-bit WDDM 1.1: 1) Download the Catalyst 9.11 32-bit driver Suite for Windows 7 from here - Drivers & Support | GAME.AMD.COM - Click on ATI Radeon™ Video Card Drivers 2) Extract the driver folder by running the .exe you downloaded. It will extract to C:ATI 3) Close installer after extraction. No longer necessary. Do not continue with install here. 4) Download my attachment (CL_91526.rar) and extract the .inf file from it. Save to desktop or anywhere you want. 5) Copy and paste the CL_91526.inf you just extracted directly overwriting the original at this location - C:ATISupport9-11_vista32_win7_32_dd_ccc_wdm_enuDriverPackagesDriversDisplayW7_INF 6) Go to device manager and right click on your video card. (Standard VGA or otherwise.) Update driver software, browse my computer, let me pick, have disk, browse. 7) Navigate to C:ATISupport9-11_vista32_win7_32_dd_ccc_wdm_enuDriverPackagesDriversDisplayW7_INF 8) Click (or double click) on the CL_91526.inf 9) Click ok, then click next and let it install. If it complains that it is not signed, click the part to let it install anyway. 10) Reboot if necessary. Pick an Aero theme by right clicking on desktop, Personalize. (If you previously had a working driver from ATI's site installed, you may skip this step.) 11) Run setup.exe in C:ATISupport9-11_vista32_win7_32_dd_ccc_wdm_enuDriver and let it complete to install the CCC, should you want the functionality. Custom mode is best used here instead of express mode, when it asks. 12) Install ATI Tray Tools (attsetup.rar in my attachments) if you wish to overclock. Ensure adequate cooling. Disclaimer - Should you choose to overclock, responsibility falls entirely on you. 13) Update your WEI score. Start menu | right click Computer | Properties | click Windows Experience Index If you have a different AGP card, let me know. I will make you a custom .inf.

Radeon HD 2600XT (AGP) - Freezes At Starting
Well, as the title suggests - I have an AGP HD2600, and whenever I install the ATI Display Driver (any version, from 7.10 right through to the Windows 7 Preview Drivers). The install process itself proceeds fine without any issues (although Device Manager never recognizes my card - always calls it a VGA Adapter) but whenever I reboot after installing said drivers, it freezes at the Starting Windows section - right at the part where the desktop should load up. I've tried compatibility mode, I've tried disabling enforced driver signatures, but the only thing that lets me boot after installing the ATI Drivers is to system restore back to the crappy VGA Adapter generic driver.

ATI 3650 AGP Video Card Driver Install Problems
I'm having issues installing drivers for my ATI 3650 AGP video card. Â The ATI installer acts as though it is working but does not prompt to restart the computer when it is finished. Â When I do so manually the driver doesn't show up when I check the properties for the card, just the prepackaged 7 vga driver. I've tried the 7 preview drivers, Vista 32, and Vista 32 Hotfix drivers and all had the same resuslts of the installer finishing the install without actually installing the drivers.

3850 HD Drivers
I downloaded and installed Win7 RC just last night and found great difficulty installing the video driver. I wiped the drive and did a clean install. I made sure to download the current Win 7 Beta driver from ATI's web site with the same results as elvispresley; The driver doesn't install and windows says it didn't install correctly. This I repeated several times removing the driver and trying to reinstall. I downloaded the Vista 32 driver and had the same problem. Then I went so far as to attempt updating the driver in the device manager and pointing to where the driver was and windows 7 still could not see it and could not install it. I don't get it. Any help?

Sapphire HD 3850 512 - Fix
My story is simple, I bought a Sapphire HD 3850 512mb DDR3 !AGP! and i want 9.6 catalyst drivers installed NOW! Well, I had to manually install the drivers first. So make sure your drivers are already extracted to your c: or w/e. www.otleague.net/stuff/9.6_32_bit_hotfix.zip This link will take you to my Problem Step Recorded (psr.exe) movie of how I got my drivers from the 9.6 Catalyst. After I restarted I than installed the CCC from the C:atiSupport9-6_agp-hotfix_vista32_dd_cccSetup.exe. (hotfixs are for AGP cards only) You can use the setup know beacuse it doesn't need to install your drivers And boom I hope it works for you, like it has for me. It took me close to a week of trail and error to get this answer.

Canon Rebel XT Driver Fails
I just installed Win7 Ultimate (N) 32bit OS and I plugged my Rebel XTi in and the driver fails to load. In device manager I get the ominous ! next to the Canon Digital Camera. I tried removing and reinstalling, looking online etc etc and nothing appears to be working. Does anyone out there have any ideas? Could the problem be a corrupted native driver in Windows7? If so does anyone know what driver is being used so I can attempt to manually replace it?

Upgrade Path From Localized Version Of Vista To MSDNAA EN US Version Of Win7
I'm running an OEM version of Windows Vista Home Premium, and since I'm a class B netizen I only had access to a localized version of my operative system. The MSDNAA graciously makes a copy of Windows 7 Professional English and a copy of Windows 7 Multilanguage Pack available to me. Howerer there is no localized version of the former and no WinVista equivalent of the latter. The Windows installer aborts pointing out the localization conflict and links me to this unhelpful page. My OEM seems to have disabled the option of using Windows Anytime Upgrade, so I will not pour money into this option just to get the option to relocalize my OS to English 'just in case'. Also, I would really rather not lose a week into driver scavenging, clicking through programs installers, staring at progress bars getting filled (multiple times). I'd really want to just upgrade. Is this a dead end? Do I have to cross my fingers and wait for Godot err a localized version of Win7 to appear on MSDNAA? Or is there a way around this?

HIS Radeon 4350 Install Driver
I'm having a terrible time with this ATI Catalyst driver. Yes, I've read all of the sticky topics and nothing works. I have an HIS Radeon 4350. No drivers downloaded from anywhere work. When I run the install software, it fails after I click the gold "install" button. I get a Windows 7 error report with the same old "DisableSessions" solution, which does absolutely nothing. It runs, I see the "success" message, I even looked in the registry to make sure the keys were gone. They are and the Catalyst driver still will not install. Yes, I even tried compatibility mode, sadly on the compatibility dropdown, I see "Widows XP SP1" and it's disaabled so I can't change it. Also, I have no surround sound. Yes, I have the ATI DVI/HDMI adapter. Yes I downloaded and installed the Realtek HDMI driver. It only shows two channels. No clue what's going on there either. Why is it completely impossible to install any software for this video card? I've tried everything. Haven't I?
