Problems With Win 7 64 Bit And Nvidia Drivers For Video Card GT 230M
I own a Vaio VPCCW1S1E notebook, cpu P7450, video card NVIDIA GeForce GT 230M (512 MB), operating system Windows 7 64 bit, and I am experiencing frequent system crashes, especially when using Matlab R2009b, but not only.
That is, the system suddenly restarts; by debugging the file .dmp created by Windows after the crash you can read:

In Nvidia web site there are available new drivers (the version installed on my laptop is 186.47, while on Nvidia web site there is 195.62 WHQL) for GT 230M, ma you cannot install them on my laptop since Sony uses personalized versions of Nvidia drivers, and Nvidia refers to Sony support to get updates of drivers.

Win 7 Video Drivers From Nvidia
I have the RC version of Windows 7 installed and the WDDM drivers seem to work ok, but every time I update the drivers to the official WHQL drivers off nVidias web site they install fine but then DX10 fails to work (ie Hellgate London in DX10 mode). Is this a known problem or should a person just stick with the WDDM 1.4 drivers that come with Microsoft's update.

Choosing An NVidia Video Card For Windows 7
I upgraded my XP system ( IBM 8291-E2U) to Windows 7 yesterday, knowing the video adapter on my motherboard was not fully Windows 7 compliant. My HP w2207 monitor's optimal resolution is 1068 x 1050 @ 60 ghz. The video card I am considering is an : NVIDIA GeForce 8400 GS 512MB DDR2 PCI Express Graphics Card My concern is that this may not work with my mother board which is : *Chipset*Intel i915G/GV/GL/P/PL/i910GL Can someone comment as to the viability of this card and give me a process to follow from install to operation -- i.e. how to disable VGA and when ?

NVidia Geforce 8400 Gs Video Card
When I run the Windows 7 64bit install, once the OS installed and it reboot the system and loads for the first time. I lose video once the Windows logo goes away. I am using a nVidia GeForce 8400 GS 256mg Video Card attached Insignia HD digital TV monitor. I can go into Safe Mode, and have video but in normal mode no video. I've also tried going to nVidia web site and downloading the lastest Vista 64bit drivers and even the beta Vista 64bit drivers. But, nothing seem to work. Anyone have any ideals what you try next?

Nvidia Geforce 7000M Video Card Driver
I just installed windows 7 64-bit on my Acer laptop. It has a Nvidia Geforce 7000M video card. Windows 7 only sets it up as a generic vga card. I have tried all of the drivers I have found and none of them work. I am not able to use the dvd maker or other programs because of this. Any ideas? Cheryl

Asus V9280 / Nvidia 8x AGP Video Card
Installed 32bit version on a generic Biostar MB with AMD 5600x2 and Asus V9280 8x AGP video card which worked fine in Vista and XP and was recognized on setup. There is a built in video but I have the AGP slot as first boot up choice. Win 7 sees the card as a generic VGA and won't accept the Vista 32 driver. I am using the Nvidia chipset driver for the Geforce FX5200 which is the chip on the card. Is there a better Win 7 driver for this card? I have installed this beta on four machines and this is only the second problem I have had with it.

PCI-E Nvidia Video Card Installation Failure
Has anyone been able to install windows 7 RC1 (32 or 64 bit) from scratch with their PCI-E Nvidia video card installed.I always have an stop x00000124 BSOD.The only remedy is to use my onboard VGA, however, this does not support my primary use as a HTPC.I have tried installing older nvidia drivers once RC has been installed with only onboard VGA, which still results in more BSODs.Has Microsoft acknowledged an issue here? I would love to get this working properly but to no avail so far.

NVidia Quadro FX 570m Video Card Issue
My video card [nVidia Quadro FX 570m (I think)] is not being recognized by Windows 7 RC. In the device manager, it says that I have a "Standard VGA Graphics Adapter" rather than the name of the card. I used this card with the Windows 7 beta and it worked flawlessly. I had to manually download the correct drivers from nvidia as their automatic detector couldn't see the videocard-- when I tried to install them, again the drivers couldn't recognize the card. The drivers I downloaded were specifically made for Windows 7. I saw a few threads that suggested I run the installers in vista compatibility mode, so, even though it's pretty absurd to install windows 7 drivers on windows 7 using vista compatibility mode, I tried and lo and behold it didn't work. I then tried using the device manager to manually point to the nvidia drivers and it didn't work. I am stumped. UPDATE 7/28 3 PM: I tried another fresh install just for fun and I'm having the same problem, however this time around, I went to nvidia.com before installing any updates or drivers and it was able to detect my videocard and point me to the proper drivers. I got the same problem during installation though. "nVidia couldn't find any drivers for you hardware" or something like that. In addition to this problem, I discovered this morning that my laptop was super hot and had not properly hibernated last night, it was hung on a black screen with a flashing underscore like a command prompt. I also cannot put the computer to sleep: it is either shut down or hibernating, windows does not give me the option for sleep. edit: I'd also like to stress that I had none of these problems with the beta, this is only with the RC...

Win7 Freeze When It Uses Accelerated Video Card Drivers
I would like to try and resolve a problem that I have found on Windows 7 BETA Build 7000!The issue is that when I have installed my Video Card Drivers (Which are accelerated Video Card Drivers) and then I come to run applications and games that use the accelerated Direct3D Support from the drivers the whole system locks up when i run the application it just goes dead like for example if I run Solitaire then it will lockup and also running other software like for Example Windows Live Messenger 2009 that too locks up the system. so I have to power off the machine by holding in the power button until it turns off and then reboot and its fine unless like live Messenger it starts automatically at startup(or any other program that starts at startup) then the system will lockup then as well at startup when it tries to run live messenger! Please Help me!It would could is microsoft could come up with a fix for this issue as I know it cannot be the drivers as they work perfectly well in XP and Vista!

NVIDIA GeForce4 MX Series Graphics Card Drivers
i just got windows 7 and already see two major problems. one, my graphics card needs to get a driver update but they dont support windows 7 on the website!. I have an NVIDIA GeForce 4 MX Series (yes its old as hell) and ive read that installing the vista or xp drivers wont work regardless. what should I do? does anyone know if i can buy a better graphics card for my laptop? my friend told me HP laptops are made customized for the specific graphics card and i would have to buy another laptop. i am not down to spend 2000 bones on a new laptop with everything working with windows 7 on this current one with the only flaw an outdated driver!!! Is there some other downloadable updates I can find to get my card working? also, as some people mentioned before, i cannot get the brightness slider to show up in my power settings options. do you think it has something to do with the outdated graphics card i have? So far i havent updated it with any drivers. I really dont want to buy a new laptop...and i also dont want to waste all the money i spent on video games if i cant play them without a driver anymore..

Nvidia 7200 GS Graphics Card Installing Drivers Issue
I recently bought an Nvidia 7200 GS graphics card for my computer, but it is causing problems. I plugged in the card and booted up, and it somehow found a driver for it (maybe on the driver cd I had inserted). I then enjoyed 20 minutes of dual monitors, but then I had to restart the computer. Ever since, Windows 7 will not load. It displayed the startup animation, then promptly froze. I unplugged the card, and it booted up fine, and I downloaded the latest drivers from the manufacturer's site. However, I cannot install them, because the it could not find any hardware for the drivers! How can I install the drivers in Windows 7, if I cannot start Windows with the card installed? I am currently using Vista that I have installed on another hard drive. However, I don't know if even this will boot up again if the card is plugged in.

LCD TV Flashes When Drivers Are Installed For NVidia Graphic Card
Whenever I load the Windows 7 VGA drivers for the graphics card, it runs properly but the LCD TV (Connected through VGA cable) flashes almost every 10 seconds. the screen becomes blank for 1-1.5 seconds and the screen reappears. The resolution of the screen is set to 1360x768@ 60Hz. With Windows drivers for NVidia GeForce 6100, when I connect to the CRT monitor, there is no flashing even @ higher resolutions and also Aero works fine. This phenomenon doesnot happen if i install Win-XP drivers for the graphic card on the same operating system. Installed Win 7 With Old Video Card
I installed Windows 7 just fine. The video card on that computer is old, a Radeon 8500. No drivers exist for Vista or Windows 7. Windows 7 used the default VGA drivers. I purchased a new video card, a GeForce 6600, which has Windows 7 driver support. I installed the new video card. The bios screen comes up and post, then it goes to the "starting windows screen", then the computer reboots back to the bios screen. Any ideas what may be wrong?

Nvidia 8800 SLI Graphics Card Drivers Crashing / Bsod
I have a Dell XPS 630i which had previously been on Vista-32. I recently upgraded to Windows 7 64-bit with a custom install and found myself in a world of driver pain. The drivers included from microsoft, as well as the drivers from nvidia, are all crashing constantly. Any time I try and run any game I wind up with the driver restarting itself, the game becoming unplayable, and strange multi-colored pixels all across the screen. Also, I occasionally get BSODs. This driver seems to want to fail and "recover" all the time making my system almost completely unusable. Sometimes this happens when doing simple things like opening Internet Explorer So far I have: Re-installed Windows 7 - 64 TWICE Tried almost every NVidia Driver for the card listed under windows 7 64 (Used Driver Sweeper, Safe Mode, etc) Tried playing with fan speeds to see if it was an overheating issue (its not) Debated on throwing my expensive paperweight out the window. Debated on being more reasonable and chucking the graphics cards out the window, buying an ATI card, and never buying another NVidia product again Debating going back to Vista  I am at a complete loss as to what I should do from here. Any help would be appreciated.  system's specs: Mobo - Nforce 650 SLI (or whatever mutilated version of that Dell ships) RAM - 4gb Corsair Dominator (not OCed) Processor - Q6600 @ 2.4ghz (not OCed) GFX Card(s) - 2x Nvidia geforce 8800 GT in SLI - 1gb total video RAM (also.. not OCed.. in fact, I haven't OCed anything, so this is NOT an OCing issue) All of the above were stable in Vista-32. Never touched any of the overclocking options. Everything in the case is what Dell shipped and at their settings!
