Perpetual Loop On Upgrade Restart

Mar 22, 2009

When almost completed the screen message is "starting Windows" then it goes to "preparing to run Windows7 for first time," and then it goes to a blackscreen message that "setup willl continue after restarting Wimdows. After the restart. The loop starts all over with "Starting Windows, etc. This an upgrade to Windows 7000 Build and I am afraid it may not start anhd I'll have to do a clean install, with a lot of work to add my programs back in.

Stuck In Restart Loop

Feb 17, 2012

So, my computer is stuck in a restart loop. every now and then I see a screen with option to start windows normally or safe mode, but it loops faster then I can hit enter. being a comp guy and knowing enough about comps, tried to load Windows 7 install disk as well as Ubuntu Live Disk.. No luck, loops before they can load. Tried disconnecting everything except CPU, Graphic Card, HDD(3 different), and RAM (1 and all sticks).. No luck there either.

Windows 7 Endless Restart Loop?

Dec 15, 2010

I have had Windows 7 64bit Pro on my computer for around 10 months. I use an Upgrade version through my University that works exactly like a normal copy of Windows 7. I have had no problems with it until now. When I start it up normally and choose Windows 7 (I also have Windows XP pro on my computer) and after about 10 seconds my computer automatically restarts. I tried the Repair My Computer option 3 times and the Last Known Good Configuration twice with no success. When I start it up in Safe Mode, 7 works for about three seconds and then goes to a Blue Screen before restarting.I honestly do not know what is wrong with my computer. I have checked all of the internal connections and there doesn't appear to be anything unplugged or messed up with them in general.

Laptop Is In Restart Loop When Booting (after Windows Logo)

Apr 29, 2012

While playing on my laptop (SDGO SEA) my laptop suddenly goes black for a long period of time and I decided to restart. Selected "Start Windows Normally" and after the Windows Logo ("Windows is starting") the screen suddenly goes black again like what I had experienced earlier (black I mean black-black, the monitor LEDs do not light up) then the hard drive LED blinks off for about a second, blinks on, off again, then on, and the computer restarts. This repeats whenever I select that mode (I can't seem to see the "Load Last Good Configuration" option). Safe Mode works though (I'm using it to post right now). I tried System Restore but with no luck.:(

I'm not very pro at reformatting, or very familiar on reinstallign Windows (I also don't have a Win7 DVD) so please bear with me XD

Windows 7 - Restart Loop During Complete Installation / Unexpected Error

Sep 22, 2009

I attempted to install Windows 7 x64 RC version on my new desktop, and about 20 minutes into the "Complete Installation" section my computer crashed for a reason of which I'm not aware (I saw a blue screen with writing for about a second or two before my computer restarted). I now get the following error after windows attempts to "start services":

"Install Windows. The computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error. Windows installation cannot proceed. To install Windows, click "OK" to restart the computer, and then restart the installation".

I've now clicked "OK" about 10 times, with my computer restarting properly each time, and the same error pops up every time.

Windows Restart Loop While Booting, Safe Mode Crashes

The problem is that when I boot my PC it will go black and restart after getting to the windows logo boot part. If I try Safe mode it will get to SYSTEM32DRIVERSDISK.SYS and then just bluescreens and restarts again. Before it got to CLASSPNP.SYS but I tried to rename it to CLASSPNP.OLD and now it didn't really change much. I also tried using this code but it just tells me that some files are corrupt and it cannot repair it.If I try the automatic repair option it will just try and repair for a couple of hours and then say it cannot repair and rebooting the PC.

Display Driver Stopped Working - Will Not Reboot / Restart Loop

Jan 14, 2013

Graphics card: ATI Radeon HD4870 x2
Running on windows 7 x64 ultimate

I was browsing away and my whole pc froze, with a strange little box around my cursor, although the sound was still working, I force shut down it and restarted and little message popped up saying the display driver has stopped working, I tried multiple things to solve this, to no avail, eventually it kept happening and it got so bad the computer would not start, i tried all of the "F" keys on startup and none worked, eventually i took it to a shop who wiped everything clean and it worked again.

Around 2 months down the line low and behold the same problem happened again, I found a solution and installed a program called driver robot, I used it and installed many outdated drivers, this seemed to fix the problem. For about 6 months, now it has happened again, my computer has now shut down and goes into a constant restart loop, as it is doing this the screens that show up are littered with dots and lines of many colours, I just need workaround on this, preferably without loosing all of my files.

I have only the basics plugged in-I have tried unplugging them all and making sure all connections are secure, trying my old graphics card, and even dropping the ram down to 2gb. I cannot start in safe mode, nor window's normally. Whatever I choose, it goes to the window loading screen with the little orbs for about 10 seconds and restarts my computer. And ends up going to the recovery screen again. I have a reinstallation cd, but it wont read it.

Windows 7 Upgrade Failure - No Automatic Rollback Continuous Loop For Setup?

May 11, 2011

Went through the recommendations for upgrading to windows 7 as per instructions on CD. Anything incompatible was removed, uninstalled prior to set-up. On first run through set-up failed, BUT, this was easily rolled back. Not so easy the second time round where there was no option to roll back. On rebooting I could not access any of the software programmes on the pc. Instead I was taken straight to the command screen:

The only access I have to all my directories is via this screen.I did attempt to a system restore but was asked to identify which system to restore and was unable to do that as I am not very technical.I can, by hitting F8 get to the advanced boot menu, but none of the options listed there function. When selected they take me back to the command screen. If I exit the command screen the pc reboots. Is there any way I can get to restore my previous o/s Vista and then hopefully I can get to do a clean install of windows 7? it currently looks like I am running two opeating systems and windows.

Reboot Loop

Mar 13, 2009

I have been following the progress of Windows 7 through beta stages. I currently operate on Windows XP SP3 which runs great, however Ive very recently decided to go for WIndows 7 beta. I completely backed up all my information, booted from DVD, formatted and then started to install.

It copies/ expands all the files to 100%, then does a normal restart, It then comes up with starting windows> registering entries etc, the carries on finalising the install only to reboot itself?

After the reboot it gives me the windows recovery screen. If it tries to boot up it just goes into a reboot loop. I am sooo confused.

The thing is I would say I know my way around PC software and Hardware very well. I have tried different BIOS settings, Optimising defaults, Load-Fail Safe Defaults, Creating New Partitions etc.

No, the big deal started when my computer started acting up. It took longer and longer for it to boot to the desktop, sometimes even a half hour because I had to keep manually turning it off in on in order to get a response. Now my computer won't even go past the "Starting Windows" screen.

Start Up Repair Loop

Dec 2, 2012

Ok I have a Dell Inspiron N7110. I kept getting the blue screen of death , ran all the registry cleaners, virus checkers, malware fixers I had, nothing ever showed up. all came back clean. but i still got the blue screen of death.. I even ran Combo fix to no avail. decided to do a Dell system backup restore. Since then I am stuck in a start up loop. I cant even boot from my cd drive succesfully now.Called Dell they ran the typical tests, ( ones I already did) and found nothing wrong with it, told me its not hardware issue that my warranty covers sent me to software issue department. ran the tests again. and he determined he can fix it but its not covered.I could buy their warranty for $250 which will cover me for a year for any software problems.. or pay $150 for the one time help that he could fix it but would not tell me what was wrong with it. I asked for the OS disk to be sent to me so I could try to do a new install from disk.. he said he could but it wouldnt help me so he wont. I am sickened by this customer support its obviously an issue with their backup crap.. I have a win 7 disk from my sons computer and I can't even run it as when I choose boot from CD it still goes right to start up repair so I can even do that.

I'm trying to figure out which component might be causing this problem, if any. I've updated my bios, drivers, and ran memtest but nothing seemed out of the ordinary and it didn't fix the problem.

Laptop In Reboot Loop

Jan 8, 2012

Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit OS, HP G61-304NR laptop is auto rebooting over and over again. I have tried system recover from my recover disks - it did not work. I ordered system recovery disks from HP and had the recover disk reformat the Windows partition (I have a valid backup of this computer).Tried to boot in the following modes:

-Safe Mode
-Safe Mode w/Command Prompt
-Low Res Video
-Disable Driver Signing Enforcement

None of these things work. It appears that the problem may be associated with atipcie.sys driver. I assume this because the safe mode driver boot stops at disk.sys and the next driver that needs to load is atipcie.sys. At that point, the computer goes into windows and then reboots. I cannot get to a command prompt. I have tried to get to a command prompt by booting from the recover disk, by booting through safe mode with command prompt. I cannot get there. The laptop successfully gets through BIOS, and goes to Windows, but then it goes through some command screens (looks like scripts, cscript.exe), but then automatically reboots.

I ordered 2 exact same PC's and only 1 of them do it. The specs are; i7 2600k, Gigabyte 6970, 8 GB Kingston 1600 MHz and Gigabyte Z68X-UD3h-BC which was replaced after one day because of a power surge. also : 990 WATT PSU. I got this new PC it looped, returned it, they fixed it, it looped. Now sometimes this pc starts, like right now im on it. IT starts sometimes i also updated my bios recently and the guy had to change the ram from 1333 MHz to 1600 MHz because it apparently does that as default when its updated. i also had to have a keyboard replaced it just died from this PC, and had many issues with the usb ports than a driver fixed it.

Cannot Get Into Install / Reboot Loop

Mar 17, 2012

I built my own custom PC through parts I ordered from newegg last week. Putting the computer together was surprisingly the easy part, while installing a windows OS has been ridiculous. I tried installing windows xp for a few days after running into 0x7b bsod errors, finally getting it to the point it would set up and then would reboot and put the monitor in sleep mode. I tried vista which just immediately gave me the "putting the monitor to sleep" thing right after it said "starting windows." Now i'm trying windows 7 and I once again can't do it. It boots up and does the setting up windows bar, then when it goes to "starting windows" it reboots itself, and does that on repeat. I really hope somebody can help, it's incredibly disheartening to spend $500+ just to have it do anything within its power to not work. I've tried unplugging everything that isn't neccesary, running 1 stick of RAM, I've tried setting it to IDE, RAID, and HCPI. I have tried 2 separate Windows 7 discs. I've reformatted the HD (using xp) multiple times and tried multiple partitions. Windows 7 simply wont even let me get into the installation portion. [code]

How To Fix Windows 7 Boot Loop

I used to think I was pretty decent at computer stuffs until a couple of days ago.I sold my old ATX mobo and replaced it with an ASRock M-ITX motherboard because I wanted a smaller system. However, I didn't really know that I had to delete the old mobo drivers before setting up a new rig. Upon pushing the power button, I am greeted with a black screen stating that W7 can't boot properly. If I press "Start Windows normally" it bootloops. Thus, I downloaded Hiren's boot cd and followed the instructions from this thread:

I've found the Fix HDD controller program, but my 500GB HDD (which stores my W7) is not recognized. It is recognized in the UEFI BIOS, but not in miniXP.

Boot Loop Preventing OS Installation?

Sep 8, 2011

I have been spending the last 2 days trying to reinstall the OS on my Area 51. I had to take out the HDD and reformat it in another PC as I was getting a boot loop that would start right after the "windows is loading files..." screen and then loop back to the Alienware boot screen. So, since then.. I put the HDD back in and unplugged all USB connections, 1394 and everything besides the keyboard and monitor. I was able to get to the OS installation screen and then at the end of the install, the PC restarted and told me that windows has encountered an error and gave me choices to restart in safe mode and on down the list, but no attempt to repair. It did ask me to put the disk back in and boot from the DVD drive, which I did, but it never goes back to the installation.

So, I then took out the battery on the motherboard and put it back (also took out the GPU and put it back in). I was then able to get back to the Windows installation screen, but after the PC had to restart, I ended up back in the same place with the Windows error and safe mode options (none of which work). So, am I looking at an issue with the MIO by chance, the MOBO battery maybe or what? I'm not sure why I'm having these issues while just trying to reinstall the OS on a clean drive. Also, could this be because I'm using 2 x 4GB RipjawsX RAM rather then the triple channel (which I am getting today)? Can I just remove the memory and try to boot without it in? Or is it possible this could be due to the MOBO battery starting to go?

But i can get into recovery menu using install dvd nd view advanced options frm startup repair.

2.) System restore din't work. I am given no options - when I try F8 I'm simply tossed back into Startup Repair. I'm thinking there may be a command prompt way out of the loop, but I'm clueless in that area.

Windows 7 Infinite Reboot Loop

Or am I going to be forced to do clean install? I temporarily installed Windows 8 Release Preview on XP partition just so I can do stuff until Windows 7 is fixed.
