Period Keyboard Lockups / Toshiba Satellite M40 Keyboard
Toshiba PSM30 Satellite Laptop
1.25Gb Ram
Centrino 1.5Ghz
when using windows 7 on this laptop periodically the keyboard input will freeze - it will freeze for up to two seconds after which the keypresses will "catch up".
Ive hunted around for a solution to this and only managed to find a issue for some installs upgrading form winxp...
The sugestion here http://www.watchingthenet.com/windows-vista-tip-how-to-fix-slow-keyboard-response-after-upgrade-from-windows-xp.html
suggests adding a new regrsitry key which I have done and it has made ZERO difference (its not made it any worse either)
At the moment this is making this laptop pretty unusable in that it locks out keyboard input about once every 30 seconds....
Note that this lockout is not tied to any particular program (it even happens in notepad with no other programs running).
Ive preorded win7 for this laptop prior to installing the RC, and I am now starting to worry i may not be able to use it on this laptop.
if i keep the cpu gadet running "always on top" I can see that when the keyboard input is getting buffered its not the case that the CPU is maxed out at 100% in face i can see it happening when the cpu is running at less than 20 percent.
Dunno if this is a driver issue or an issue with my particular hardware setup. This is not the newest laptop but its not the oldest either, and apart from this win7 runs at an ok rate. Memory utilisation is around 45%.
Very occasionally when typing it seems that windows will issue an alert sound when the keyboard locks out but its not every time and there is no alert message associated with the sound - all in all its hugely frustrating.

Installation On Toshiba M40-231
i have a problem when the pc reboot for the first time. It freezes on splash screen after installation. This also happens in Vista installation. My guess would be an hardware incompatibility, and it seems the source of the problem is the wifi board, which is an intel 2200BG. Even if i get the Vista driver for hte board, which i got, how could i use it?

Keyboard Input Causes Audio Skipping, No Keyboard Repeat
I'm having a strange issue with Windows 7, involving keyboard input and audio playback. I find that when I'm typing something (like this message, or anything else) and listening to music through any media player, the audio output skips as I type. There doesn't seem to be a real pattern to it, but it is definitely noticeable skipping only when I'm typing. I also noticed that if I try to use a repeating key function, such as holding down the backspace key, the audio output stops completely, and the key does not repeat; the cursor just hangs until I let go of the key, at which point the music starts playing again too. Is anyone else having this issue?

Toshiba Satellite Touchpad Ps/2
I have a Toshiba Satellite L505D-S5965 Laptop. I just did a Windows 7 update (32-bit if that matters). I had to do a full install instead of an update because it just did not do anything (after multiple tries) of running the Assistant. Well, I am up, but I cannot change my touchpad settings. I have it, and it works, but I cannot access any controls beyond the basic menus-not like the Vista controls. I would like to turn the tap of, and the scroll(never seem to use it correctly, so I just turn it off). I have a PS/2 Compatible Mouse. It shows the manufacturer to be Microsoft. It is the 6.1.7600.16385 version. I cannot find a driver for that version anywhere on this site or Toshiba's, assuming the diriver is what I need.Â

Toshiba Satellite A305 Support
Seems like most folks I've talked to are trying out Windows 7 on desktop rigs. I'd like to put it on my GF's new Toshiba Satellite A305; what should I expect? Is Windows 7's laptop support better than WinXP? I'd hate to have to keep the POS Vista Home Basic it came with, but she might expect it to, ya know, boot... Freakin' laptop makers love using oddball hardware and adding "features" that require their custom "patches". On her previous Toshiba, a clean install of WinXP Pro SP2 would boot maybe 1 try out of 10, even after installing every driver and patch they offered on their support site.

Toshiba Satellite Fan Problem
System is Canadian model: Toshiba Satellite L300D PSLC8C-04401R AMD Athlon X2 64-bit dual core w/ 4 GB RAM, running 64-bit W7RC7100 Problem: Once the fan speeds up, it does NOT slow down again - even when blowing only cool air at extended idle. There was never a heat problem when running Vista-64-bit, and even now, I repeat for emphasis, the issue does not seem tied to load or heat. The computer has been updated to the most recent bios version. I state for emphasis - the computer has not moved since Windows 7 has been installed. Why do I mention the heat/load and movement? Because I want to stress that I don't see this as either a A) Physical problem, ie. loose connector on temp. sensor or B) heat problem, ie. the fan would roar when I would play Mass Effect under Vista. The only thing that has changed on the computer since there was NO fan problem, is the installation of Windows 7. Any ideas?

Driver Problems With Toshiba Satellite Laptop
Ok, my Toshiba Satellite laptop originally had Windows Vista on it, I then downloaded Windows 7 but today i went back to Vista because some things weren't supported like my brightness settings and stuff. however. Now that I went back, my computer seems alot slower. Also it never auto connects to the internet when I turn it on. I always have to "diagnose and repair" to get it started. The worst thing is though is I had absolutely no drivers. I have no disk for my pc so I had to go on my other pc, download the correct internet driver, install it on my laptop then manually download all the drivers i thought I needed. Well, everything is working except for the slowness of the pc still and my audio! It sounds like crap. It used to sound soooo good for a laptop. So I updated drivers but then it gave me an error and said it wont work correctly and then it disabled my audio completely. So I rolled back my driver and now it just sounds like crap again. Its literally so much of a difference that i dont even want to listen to music or play my games because the sound was one of the reasons I got this laptop. I hardly doubt anyone can help me because you'd have to have my specific model and drivers to figure it out. Man, I just dont know what to do. I fear there is nothing I can do EDIT: Although, now I think I'm going insane. I feel sick to my stomach whenever I mess something up. At this point, I cant tell if the sound thing is in my mind or not. I mean, it always seemed so good. When i play music, it seems good at times but at other times it doesn't. I'm pretty sure its bad though. I wish I could just send this somewhere and get it all taken care of. EDIT AGAIN: Phew, I fixed the audio problem by switching some settings. Man am a relived. Now I just gotta work on reinstalling things But I still dont know what drivers I'm missing and also why my computer seems so slow. Also there is a 30 second gap in between the loading bar boot and the vista logo sequence. I dont remember that before but its not the biggest deal. Man... Edit again: Just wondering if anyone would upload all the different Windows sounds in Windows 7. I liked one of the themes and want to use it in Vista but forgot to back it up.

Toshiba Satellite P200 P100 Issue
I have a Toshiba Satellite P200-P100 running Windows 7. A few weeks ago, after a Windows 7 Update, my monitor would not show any image, it would light up, but still no image. Not even the BIOS it would load. I fixed it by using System Restore using another monitor. The same happened again today, I must have ran the same update, but this time a system restore did not solve it, neither did reinstalling Win 7. Any suggestions?

Install On Toshiba Satellite A305-S6872
I have a Toshiba Satellite A305-S6872, I have downloaded the Windows 7 RC 32 bits and 64 bit, and burned them into DVD-R. when I introduce the DVD, the BIOS does not recognize the DVD/CD ROM so it skips that part and continues to windows VISTA, what I want to do is to format the hard drive during the installation, when I turn on my laptop, but I can not make the CD to be read. I have my HHD drive with 3 partitions on vista which are the next, (I do not know if this causes trouble or not during installation) I have windows currently in C: what can I do so the burned copy of windows 7 RC can be read on BIOS...

Install On Toshiba Satellite A75 S2131
I have an old Toshiba Satellite model A75-S2131 with maxed out ram of about 1.5 GB. I've read some good reviews about Windows 7 on pentium 4 processors and the specs indicate that only 1 GB ram is needed to run the OS. Should I consider installing the new operating system, or would that leave too little ram to run other programs?

Toshiba Satellite X205-s7483, And Monitor Flicker
I have a Toshiba Satellite x205-s7483 which has an NVIDIA 8700m GT graphics card. I upgraded to Windows 7 32-bit edition and installed the latest driver for the card from the Toshiba website. I started noticing annoying flickers on my monitor seemingly at random. I upgraded to the newest driver from NVIDIA, and still have the flicker. I saw another question on this forum where the reply was to update the monitor's driver as well, however that was with a specific monitor and I can't find a driver update for this computer. Any suggestions?
