Office 2007 Ribbon Bar
In Windows 7 you have the ability to drag a maximized window by the title bar to restore it, etc. This feature does not work with Office 2007 applications that utilize the new Ribbon bar. I'm guessing this is because of the way the application creates the ribbon bar, it actually overwrites and hides the real application title-bar.
Has anyone else experienced this? Is this a Windows 7 fix or does there need to be an Office 2007 fix?

Office 2007 Look Issue
I bought W7 x64 through my university and since I did a clean install, it removed my office 2003 which was working perfectly. I installed office 2007, that i also have through my university, and when i installed it, it appears to work, but looks horrible, i dont know how to describe it other than, "doesn't look like office 07 does on other computers". it is somewhat pixelated, icons look poor etc.Â

Office 2007 On Win 7
I have Windows 7 RC1 running and joined to a Windows 2008 domain (in native mode), and installed Office 2007 from CD/DVD. I also have a 2008 VM running the WSUS role and it has detected that Office needs to be service packed. I have chosen to NOT approve the miriad of office patches, nor SP1, since my understanding is that SP2 is cumulative - I figure get SP2 installed first and then approve whatever patches are still appropriate to save downloads. Windows 7 successfully picks up the requirement to install Office 2007, but when it is chosen to install, after the initial 'creating restore point' I get error 80070663 "Windows Update encountered an unknown error" On the WSUS side, the logs show: Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x80070663: The 2007 Microsoft Office Suite Service Pack 2 (SP2). Any ideas to troubleshoot? I figured I can try install SP2 manually, or I can remove and re-install office, or I could approve SP1 and see if that will apply or not - but I'd kinda like to resolve the underlying issue with WSUS and Win7 for corporate deployment later.

Office 2007 Compatibility
we don't have many windows 7 users, but the few we have seem to struggle with random file locking so just to be absolutely sure - is Office 2007 meant to be fully compatible and used on WIndows 7? the issue is as follows: you work on a spreadsheet and when you try saving it - excel compains that the file is locked by yourself and you need to choose a new file name etc. Initially I though it could be a NetApp CIFS issue, but we seems to be experiencing same issues even when saving files locally like on desktop... systems are excessivelly powerful and reinstall of office made no difference. i reinstalled windows 7Â one of the workstations, but even that did not solve the problem. any thoughts welcome: is this compatibility issue or is this windows issue; or is it office system spec: Dual-Xeon 2.33GHz with 4Gb RAM Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit fully patched Office 2007 Pro Plus (excel 12.0.6504.5001 SP2 MSO (12.0.6425.1000))

Keep Getting Welcome To 2007 Micorsoft Office System
Every so often (I haven't managed to work any conditions that rigger this) when I open an office 2007 program or one is accessed (e.g. Outlook when syncing a windows mobile phone) the "welcome to the 2007 Microsoft Office system" dialog opens. Usually this only occurs on the first run (confirmed on a Vista Business machine) of one of these programs and there isn't any checkbox to stop it running. I am running win7 RC (build 7100) 64bit Any idea on how to stop this?

Ms Office 2007 Wont Install
Every time I try to install MS Office 2007 Professional onto a new Dell Studio XPS 8100 with Win 7 (64 bit) it shuts down the computer and won't install. I've tried it from the original disk and again by a download of the trial version. Has this been a problem others have encountered? Is there a reason or cure?

Office 2007 Applications Hang
Office 2007 applications hang when opening documents on network share. Problem: in Word and Excel, if I double-click on a document stored on a network drive it will take minutes to open, or sometimes it will hang ("Not Responding"). If I open the same document from within Word/Excel, it *generally* opens okay. If I try to insert a network document as an attachment in Outlook, I get the same result (using the Insert menu). I've read other posts (non-Win7) about this problem, with a variety of fixes (e.g., change the location of template files), but none of them has worked for me, so I"m wondering whether the problem could be related to Win7. I've seen a lot of posts here about Office applications hanging when *saving* docs, but not when opening them, so it may be something about my system. Thanks in advance for guidance. My config: Win7 build 7000, Dell Latitude D630 with nVidia upgrade, 4GB/80GB, dual monitor. Updated daily with Windows Update. Software installed: Office 2007 Enterprise, Front Page 2003, Visio Professional 2007, Project Professional 2007, PDF 995, Adobe Acrobat 7.1.0 Professional, Firefox 3.x, and a variety of lesser-known apps. FWIW, PDF995 is installed because Acrobat 7 won't install a printer object, so I can't print from Acrobat.

Office 2007 Needs Activation After Upgrade
Downloaded latest RC. Took my Vista Ultimate 64 disk, duped it and then ran RC upgrade against the duplicated disk after making sure everything on the dup worked. Upgrade went without a hitch. Running the Windows 7 disk and my Office 2007 needs reactivation to get out of reduced functionality mode. Activate over Internet returns too many activations, and if I click on phone to do the activation, the wizard just ends and does not complete. I have Office installed on my laptop and desktop. Is there a way around this - a test of Windows 7 is kind of useless without Office, and I am not going to buy another copy just to be able to test W7.

Network Printers And Office 2007
I noticed I have a problem when I have a network printer setup as my DEFAULT printer and office 2007. If I'm on my network and open Word, Excel, etc, all is fine and it opens up smoothly, however if I open up word from school or work (anywhere that is not my home network) the applications take FOREVER to open up because it says it's trying to locate my network printer. If i dont make my network printer my default printer (i make the XPS document writer default) then word, excel, powerpoint etc behaves normally again. Is there a fix to this so that I can make my network printer my default printer without having office applications take a million years to load when I'm not in my home network?

Error Installing Office Professional 2007
I am trying to install Office Professional 2007 on a computer with Windows 7 Home Premium. Is this OS compatible with this suite? I receive an error after trying to install and the error instructed to get help information from a file located at C:Users... I could not find the app folder in the location it stated. This makes me think, that the windows 7 home premium edition has to be upgraded to the home pro in order for this suite to install. does anyone have any suggestions?
