No Built-in Driver: Marvell Yukon NIC

From my understanding the Marvell Yukon NIC is quite popular on several motherboard manufacturers, including Asus. I have an Asus P5B-Deluxe and was shocked to see after loading W7 I had no network connection. Thankfully I had a laptop which was working, so I could download the Marvell driver.

Given that NICs are vitally important, I hope MS can include Marvell drivers in the RC and RTM releases.

I'm using this driver:

Marvell Yukon 80E8056 Drivers
These are installed automaticaly by the installer but they do not work. The device shows up, but it does not give me any sort of connection.

I know the connection works because when I boot into Vista, I have the correct IP address and all that. When I boot into Windows beta 7 I get a standard IP address that window defaults to (my Vista is 192.168.0.XXX but with WB7 I get a totally non 192.x number (sorry I don't hve it))

I went to the Marvell Website and downloaded the newest drivers, updated the drivers (I copied to a USB key) and still no go.

Anyone have this problem?

Marvell Yukon Network Card
Although this affects the Vista installation on my same machine I thought it would be worth mentioning here in case anyone comes across the same issue.

I have an Asus A8N-SLi motherboard which has an onboard Nvidia and Marvell Yukon GigE network cards. I connect one or the other to my Cisco 877W router, this has 100mb ports.

The Nvidia card works perfectly, the Marvell is dreadfully slow. By setting the Speed & Duplex settings in device manager from auto-negotiate to 100 & Full the problem goes away.

Marvell Yukon 88E8052 Issue
Been pulling my hair out for a few days trying to solve an unidentified network problem with my Marvell Yukon 88E8052 . Tried all the fixes I found on the web and nothing worked. I finally did an ipconfig all and noticed the MAC address reported was totally bogus (something like F0-00-00-00-00-00). I went into adapter settings - advanced tab and configured the network name (MAC address) manually. As soon as I did that windows recognized the network and asked what type it was. I've been golden ever since.

Marvell Yukon 88E8056 PCI-E Gig Card Issue
I have been trawling through the site and have followed a lot of leads but still not resolved.

Issue:-

Upgraded to Win7 from Vista (did not clean install) - 32bit
Originally got both a public and 'unknown' network both on the same card

Fixed that by installing the Marvell Yukon 88E8056 PCI-E Gig driver off Marvell (didn't fix), turning off IP6 (didn't fix), turned off auto speed (didn't fix), after two reboots and removing the network cable and replugging it after boot into Win7 - fixed to a degree - I can connect to the internet.

Now I can see 5 of the 7 computers on the network but the only location that can be accessed is an XP share folder on one of the pc's. 1 Vista comp returns a "Windows can not access \Computer" error code 0x80070035, another Vista box sometimes comes up with a login screen (twice in around 40 attemptes) otherwise same as first pc, it sees but can not access a Thecus server - same issue as other 2 comps, it does not see another Win7 box which can access all locations successfully (uses Realtec adaptor) or a Vista laptop.

Comments:

I have tried to access shared drives through their IP address, e.g. \192.168.1.100music - without success. I can access the media-server on the Thecus via a port, e.g. \192.168.1.100:9009

My assumption is that it is the Marvell adaptor - all observations and comments gratefully received.

Marvell 6141 Driver Will Not Install
I am running Windows 7 on an old dual-core PC as my daughter as my youngest has confiscated my quad-core to play World of Warcraft on.  Everything has gone very well except that the Marvell 88SE6141 SATA/ATA/Raid controller driver will not install properly. I have tried every flavor of it I can find, but none will work. The last one was Ver. 1.0.2.15.

I have disabled the device in the BIOS to clear the error message I get at start-up. I never had any problems controlling my drives, I just don't like error messages! If anyone has gotten the darn thing to install properly let me know, but I am not losing sleep over it.

My system is: Asus P5WD2E-Premium, Intel ICH7R South, Intel 975X North. Pentium D-2.66ghz, Western Digital SATA.

Cheap NIC With Win7 Driver
Just upgraded my Compaq Persario SR1550TX to Window 7 32 bit. The NIC card was not recognized. After chatting with HP they said there is no driver, as of yet, for the built-in Motherboard NIC for windows 7, good luck. (RealTek Sis)

So i went out and bought a Trendnet TEG-PCITXR NIC card. Windows Compatibility Website says it is compatible for Windows 7. After a reply from Trendnet technical support, there is no driver for Windows 7 for the NIC card.

Can anyone recommend a cheap NIC PCI card that has windows 7 driver? I have tried D-Link, Netgear and a lot of others but when I see if they have the driver for windows 7 they do not.

Anything under $25 bucks would be great. After 3 days of struggles any suggestions would be nice!

Intel D975XBX2 Marvell SATA Driver
Intel D975XBX2 Marvell SATA driver needed for Windows 7 Needed

The 4 - port Marvell 88SE6145 is not recognized by my Windows 7 RC 1 Build 7100 install.

Installed Windows 7 (62 bit) onto Intel D975XBX2 ATX Motherboard. I can not get windows to recognize the SATA drives attached to the internal Marvell card. BIOS see the drives, just not windows.

Attempts / steps taken so far:

Attempted to install during system staging via f6, was not able to get Win 7 to recognoze the drivers.

Attempted to install after staging both Windows XP 64 and Vista 64 Intel drivers (STOR_allOS_8.7.0.1007_PV), but the install fails with "system does not meet the minimum requirements).

Tried using STOR_AllOS_F6flpy_1.2.0.51_PV_Marvell.exe during F6 (after unpacking and putting on CDROM of course)

NIC Driver Broken Network Connection
I have a Realtek RTL8168C(P)/8111C(P) Family PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet NIC (NDIS 6.20). Windows update installed a driver for a Realtek RTL8168B /8111B Family PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet NIC (NDIS 6.0 ) and then I would just get an unidentified network message for my connection.

I dual-boot with Windows Vista and Vista's network connection was broken as well.  After I used the roll back driver feature, everything was fixed. I had to roll back drivers in the Vista and Win 7 RC operating systems.

I don't want to make the same mistake later, so I tried to hide the driver update in Windows Update, but it is still there. This is just some information for people that may be having a similar problem.

Driver For Marvell 88W8335 PCI WLAN Card
Unfortunately a driver for my Marvell 88W8335 based PCI WLAN card is not included in the Windows 7 Driver Repository. The Vista 64 driver is not working, because of "missing signature failure". Is there a way to force Windows 7 to enable this driver or any work-around?

Realtek 8111D (nic/lan Driver) Issue
I can get to the internet with limited (to almost none) connectivity. I can get onto world-of-warcraft and get 60 fps for hours on end with no lag at all, I can have bit-torrent running for hours with no issues, however when I try to browse internet pages it just doesn't connect, and quickly too..like it can't resolve dns or something - not like it's waiting for a response from some site out there (the error message comes up immediatly.

I tried this on firefox too and same thing. I disabled ipvx6 and to no avail. I tried using opendns, and that was no help. I am using a router but my other computers hooked up to it (xp) don't have any problems. On the other end of this, I can't find any drivers for Windows 7 from realtek. The vista 64 won't install (says this driver is only for vista) and the xp64 won't install (says can't install this driver on vista).

Ethernet NIC That Has A Signed User Mode Driver
I'm looking for a 100Mbps(Fast Ethernet) NIC that has a signed user-mode driver for Vista and perhaps also for Windows 7. So, I'm specifically looking NICs that have drivers that are not kernel-mode and that are signed.

Could someone please post some suggestions?

Optional Realtek NIC Driver Update Breaks Network
I've got a Gigabyte GA-MA780G-UD3 motherboard and the on-board LAN works fine out of the box- Realtek RTL8168C(P)/8111C(P) Family PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet NIC (NDIS 6.20) with driver v7.2.1127.2008 dated 26/02/2008

However, if I allow Windows Update to install the Optional driver update, which it says was released in June 2007 and has a Published date of 3/10/2008, I lose my network connection (both LAN and Internet, NIC is connected to a router). After installing, this driver shows v6.195.625.2007 dated 25/06/2007.

It seems strange that an older drive is offered as an optional update and I think most people would install it thinking it would be a newer and therefore better driver.

Yukon Ethernet Controller Errors
I was browsing my Event Viewer when I ran across a series of Event 101 errors, all re: the Marvell Yukon 88E8001/8003/8010 PCI Gigabit Ethernet Controller. There would be a series of identical errors, 6-8 in a row, all with the same time stamp. They repeated once a day, sometimes twice, going back weeks. I never noticed a problem with my Internet connection.

I have a wired cable connection. The power has been going out frequently, because of storms. Could that cause the error messages?

HP PAVILION Built-in Webcam
Who knows how many people complained for following issue BUILT-IN WEBCAM WON'T WORK UNDER WINDOWS 7RC!

All right, I have the same problem, but I just could't find similar thread on any forum.

So, I installed win7 RC over win 7 beta (clean install not an update).

Everything went smoothly, drivers all found and instaled, device manager showing no yellow exclamation triangles.

Every bit of hardware is in place, everything works perfectly according to system diagnostic.

BUT, webcam shows no picture. Driver is properly installed and has no collisions with other system resources.

Interesting thing was, that camera was working excellent under win 7 beta. I don't know what has changed in win 7RC, but camera just won't start.

If anyone has any solution or similar issue, please don't hesitate to post a reply.

Oh yeah, my configuration:

HP PAVILION dv 6670el Entertainment PC
intel core2duo 2.0 GHz
2GB RAM
160GB HDD
NVIDIA 8400gs video card

HP built-in webcam (at least that's what system information says) 1.3Mpix

Marvell Network Adapter Just Disappears
I'm using a Marvell Yukon 88E8053 Gigabit adapter. When I installed 7 and logged in for the first time, my ethernet did not work. I had to use a USB drive to get drivers to install it. So, I get it installed and working and then I add the PC to my domain, log in with a domain user and it cant even find the DC to authenticate to!

I log back in with the user on the workgroup and find that the ethernet is not working. I look under device manager and the "Network Adapters" node is not even there! I try to install the Marvell adapter and ony Intel adapters are listed. When I try to "Add Legacy Device" and use the drivers for my Marvell, it won't even display a list to choose a model from, so at this point I'm pulling my hair out. I reboot, log in with the worgroup user and the network card shows up; OMG.

At this point I can finally log in with the domain user. I'm installing a bunch of software and I finally stop and let the system lock the computer. I come back, log in and guess what, no stinkin adapter; not even in device manager. Looks I have to reboot every time this happens. I just set the power options to High Performance, so hopefully I can get past this issue for now.

Anyone else having this problem?
