NEC 870 Printer Driver Install - WinXP Driver On Win 7 Beta

I was trying to install a printer (NEC SuperScript 870) on Win 7 Beta using the ntprint.inf file from the Windows XP Install Disk. The driver started to load but then stopped and a message popped up saying "Printer driver was not installed. Access is denied."

What is wrong?

Drivers For NEC Superscript 870 Printer
I am still using a NEC Superscript 870 Printer on WinXP. NEC no longer supports this printer. I have searched for Vista drivers which I could try with Windows 7 but have found none. I heard that the HP Laserjet II drivers work for Vista but cannot find them either.

WinXP Wants A Password To Use Win 7 Printer
I installed a network printer on my laptop. The networked computer is connected to my Windows 7 desktop computer.

It works great until I restart my laptop. When I try to print anything the program I'm trying to print from crashes.

I then have to uninstall the printer, Enter a user-name and password to access the Windows 7 machine then reinstall the printer.

I have "Turn on file and printer sharing." for my home connection.

Xerox Printer Driver Install Issue
I have attempted to install my 8560 printer on my laptop I am having issues. I went to Xerox and downloaded and attempted to install the printer and received the same issue.

It wants to install as a network printer and is requesting me to connect to a network. I do not have a network. When I go to view my devices and printers I see my Xerox printer there which seems strange. I tried to print something from word and it only printed in black and with from the bypass tray. I then went to check my printer preferences and found i had only the very basics options which all seemed to be fine except for the color and tray selection.

Its weird because on my XP and Vista computers, I do note have this issue and they are also laptops. I checked my security and I have rights to everything. I simply want to install the printer and us it with a USB connection.

I am also having an issue with two other devises using the USB port connection.

Kyocera FS-9530DN Printer, Can't Install Driver
We have a Kyocera FS-9530DN printer on our school network for which Windows cannot find a compatible driver.

I know that the windows vista drivers will work on Windows 7 because a student who upgraded from Vista to Windows 7 is able to use the printers. Unfortunately, I am unable to install the printers - Kyocera provides sets of its printer drivers through an .exe installation bundle that automatically detects the OS and then kills the application because it's not a supported OS.

Can't Install ATI Radeon Win 7 Beta Drivers
Running 64 bit version from an upgrade (Vista 32).

The CCC installer service gets all fiesty and running up to "Enumertaing .....packages" where it just hangs. CPU is grinding away at about 25% and it will sit there like that for hours. Literally, I left ti go out and came back 2 1/2 hours later no change.

Anyone know why or how to fix this? The beta WDDM drivers supplied by Microsoft keep failing.

Refusing To Run A Beta Driver
I am trying running a beta version of a driver for a Nova Tuner stick but windows reports:

Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious software from an unknown source. (Code 52) I know about the disable digital signature enforcement option in F8 menu but its a bit of a hassle having to reboot every time you want to use the stick. Is there a way to make windows accept this driver permanently?

ATI Beta Drivers And Driver Manager
I am using Vista 64 and the 8.12 drivers to display @ 1680x1050 on my TFT and 1920x1080 on my TV. All seems to work ok with the extended desktop and I can vary the refresh rate with no problems, as well as the resolution.

Having seen the latest beta driver for the 64 bit version of Windows 7 (beta_w7-64_8-56-1-081203a-72489) I have read the release notes and seen...

Quote: Catalyst Control Center, the display manager page has been disabled for this release of the Windows 7 display driver The above would cause me a problem as I use that to set the resolution and refresh rate changes to both my TFT and TV. But then I read...

Quote: Changing the screen resolution on a extended TV display is not applied until reboot How is that achieved, or is it via the system tray icon, if the display manager tab is disabled..?

Also if the tab is not there can the refresh rate still be changed on the TV..? If it can be changed can that be done on the fly or does that need a reboot...?

Win 7 Will Not Boot After Driver Install
I had a difficult time installing Windows 7 (RTM via MSDN) due to my RAID Array (nForce) and dual boot configuration with Vista (vista resides on striping, Win7 resides on separate non raid drive on the same SATA controller). It took me many tries but finally got a working install.  I've been using it for the past week or so.

After having several issues with the chipset drivers I finally installed manually (driver for each device via device manager) and everything was detected and worked sucessfully. Because of these previous issues I had experience with the repair process, attempted startup repairs, and individual checkpoint restores (full image backup was over 270G so I was unable to try this option) with no sucess.

Any time I would restore to a previous (known working) checkpoint before the point of failure Windows 7 would again fail to load. Reinstall was the only way I was able to resolve my issues.

I installed a driver last night knowing it might cause a problem. There was no Windows 7 equivalent available but because I had a regular working system for over a week I was marginally confident in my ability to restore to a previous working configuration (even through "last known good configuration"). After installing the Windows Vista x64 version of the driver the device worked sucessfully but I eventually met a blue screen.

Upon reboot I received the loading bar and then the computer restarted. I then purposefully chose "last known good configuration" on the next boot and received the same result. I then tried safe mode, same error, and disabled the driver signing requirement and again, the same error.

Repair mode then appears on the next reboot but it immediately sends me back to the boot menu and Windows 7 or my previous operating system (Vista) are all that remain.

It appears I have no recourse, I expected to be able to do a repair and restore to before the driver was installed, but that has not been sucessful.  Are there any logs I can verify, files I can delete or restore from the DVD to resolve my issue prior to resulting to a format and reinstall?

Install IDE Driver Not Starting Win 7
I Have a Windows 7 running on an IDE harddisk. After my IDE port on the Mainboard died, I put in an PCI Express IDE controller and tried booting. W7 crashes with BSOD while loading disk.sys. I tried the Startup repair, where I had to load the driver for the Jmicron controller via USB stick, but it didn't help.

Obviously I have to install the controller driver, but how can I do that, when windows is not starting? I also wanted to do an upgrade install, but this is only possible starting from a running system. You have any ideas how to install the driver? Or any other Idea how to get the system running again?

ATi Driver Fails To Install On Win 7 RC 7100
I had issues like this under the first beta then it went away with the next release but they're back with the RC version.  I've tried installing the drivers for my ATi 3650 various times using the W7 64bit drivers 9.4, 9.5, and now 9.6 as well.

When I run the application InstallManagerApp.exe loads into memory and begins, then I click Next, then choose Install the screen disappears and a couple seconds later InstallManagerApp.exe disappears from memory and nothing else ever loads.  Sometimes the WerFault.exe loads afterwards but not every time.

I've tried all of the following;

binsetup.exe /INSTALL /FORCE_HIDE_FIRST_RUN /AUTOACCEPT_ALL
Decompressing to a folder in my user path instead of the default
Troubleshoot Compatability
Run as Admin
Almost all of the compatability modes
ATi drivers 9.4, 9.5, and 9.6
The ATi driver pack and the CCC and Driver individual packages
Updated the VS2005 and VS2008 32bit and 64bit runtime files

So far none of these items have worked.  The very first time I tried it made it past these stages but caused the computer to BSOD on the enumeration process and has never worked since then.  The native W7 drivers work but I really need the newer drivers and CCC for the ability to change settings.

Can't Install Matrox Driver After Win 7 Upgrade
I have a Matrox M9120 PCIe x16 graphics card. It was running fine in Vista x64 with the 1.0.3.35 driver. I ran the Windows 7 x64 upgrade, and everything seemed to be OK until I discovered that I couldn't open Windows Media Center or view DVDs or other videos. I tried to upgrade to the latest Matrox driver, which supports Windows 7, but the old driver wouldn't uninstall.

I contacted Matrox tech support and was advised that I should have uninstalled the old Matrox driver BEFORE upgrading to Windows 7. They said that Windows 7 has locked in the old driver but cannot recognize it so that it can be uninstalled because it is not a Windows 7 compatible driver. They added that the ONLY solution is to do a clean install of Windows 7.

This is outrageous. No such information appears on the Matrox website, and Matrox did not notify me of the terrible consequences of upgrading to Windows 7 without uninstalling the Matrox driver even though I registered the M9120 with them last January and provided my email address. Matrox knows that every customer faces a potential disaster when upgrading to Windows 7 but covers up the mess rather than notifying registered owners of the simple step to take prior to upgrading.

I'm not going to do a clean install but will use the Matrox card without the ability to play videos for the time being in the hope that some smart techie will figure out how to uninstall the old Matrox driver from Windows 7. If that doesn't happen, I'll buy some other fanless video card and replace the partially functional Matrox card.

Win 7 Install Resets While Loading Driver/disk.sys
I'm at my wits end now though, After several attempts at installing Win 7 RC (64bit) I realised it wouldn't let me becasue I hadn't added the latest drivers for my motherboard. Now it appears to have installed but whenever windows starts, it reboots at the point where the first 'red dot' appears (the four colours swirl in to make the window).

I ran in safe mode and it appears to reboot whenever it gets as far as 'system32/drivers/disk.sys'

I have installed to three different HDD, both IDE and SATA. All clean before the start. I've used an IDE DVD drive and a USB external, and my BIOS is totally up to date. I've now striped the PC of everything none essential.

The latest drivers for the motherboard are the Vista 64bit variety because there are no windows 7 drivers (that I could see).

P.S. I also obtained a copy of the 90day release version of 64bit Ultimate, which a friend has successfully installed on his Vista laptop. I've tried installing this with all the same configs and same problem every time.
