Odd Distortion While Playing Music In Any Music Player On Windows 7 PC
Jan 19, 2012When listening to music on my PC, it does not matter if I use Winamp, Songbird, Quicktime, Windows Media Player, or any other software. Every so often, there appears some sort of distortion, like the drive that the music is on slows down. I dont know if it is the driver or what. Its hard to explain. You have to hear it. I dont think its the mp3 file itself, cause I could play a song and it will be perfect, but then the next time I play it, it will distort. It is really driving my nuts cause I can't find the reason for it.

Sep 23, 2011I am using a third party music player, MusicBee, to play my music, however if I select a folder in windows explorer of an artist that has more than one album in sub folders under the artist name then the "PLAY ALL" button does nothing.
If I select a folder without sub folders inside the PLAY button works fine and open MusicBee to play the music.
I also have VLC installed and if I right click on any music folder I get the Play with VLC option, how can I add this same option for MusicBee.
PS3 Finds Music, Finds Playlists But Not The Music In Them?
Sep 28, 2012I turned my ps3 on for the first time in a good month or more tonight, planning to stream music and just have a relaxing night, but lo and behold its not working for me. I can see all my music, I can see my playlists as folders, but when i try to go into these folders, it cant find music in those playlists.

I copied across all the Music folders from the old PC into the Music Library and I can play them by clicking on any track but Windows Media Player has not found and indexed them. I cannot find a Search and Index type function. Is there any way to get this to happen ?

Oct 27, 2012I'm trying to change the "Music" location from "C:UsersUserMusic" to "D:UsersUserMusic". I am unable to edit the path on the "Music Properties-->Location" tab. I have tried everything. I cannot type or delete the path from the path field. I can edit any other special folder location (My Documents; My Videos, etc...). I went through the registry and changed any "C:UsersUserMusic" to "D:UsersUserMusic". In desperation, I also changed all "%USERPROFILE%Music" to "D:UsersUserMusic" (yeah, I know). Nothing changes the location in the location field of the Music Location tab. I rebooted after every change to the registry. I deleted the "Music" folder, rebooted and tried to edit the new "Music" folder with no joy. Any ideas of what might be going on? I'd hate to delete and then recreate the profile owing to the fact that I just spent half a day setting it up. This computer is on a domain and no other users are experiencing this problem.

Since I have multiple users, I made a folder for each user on the F drive to store the audio files. How can I make it so only each user can modify/add/delete their own files in their own folder on the F drive, but still be able to play files from another user? I tried giving each owner of the folder Full Control and the other users "read only or execute" but the other users are still able to add, write, and modify files.

It is normally a straightforward process, but whenever I try it with the new computer, Windows 7 crashes. I tried to do a bit of trouble shooting myself, but to no avail. I downloaded the Microsoft Host Controller Driver Update for HP users, but when I went to install it, the error message "Update did not install (259)" came up. I don't know what to do about it, but a lot of people seem to have similar problems that have to do with nvidia chipsets or something.

I used EasyTransfer to transfer files to the new machine, and the music files are there -- I can see them in Windows Explorer. But WMP is only aware of some of the files. If I double-click a music file in Explorer, WMP will play it, and then it will show up in the library, but I have so many music files that double-clicking, and playing, every single one is not a great option. How do I get WMP to recognize all the files?

Jul 1, 2010I recently installed Windows 7 and now when I open a folder containing wav files explorer jumps up to 50 to 80 CPU usage.The folder contains wav music files because I am converting them from 320 mp3, and FLAC to use in Ableton Live, which is a music workstation.The folder it originally happened to came from my previous hard drive, which may have got damaged, so the files might be corrupt.. but this issue didn't happen with the folder in question after the hard drives incident (which may have resulted it having bad sectors), when I was using windows xp.Recently I converted a FLAC file to wav using this new windows 7 install. When I tried to access the folder that it was put it, again explorer jumped up to 80 percent, dllhost.exe is also contributing the cpu strain, with around 30 cpu usage.I googled this and I was recommend to download a patch for windows 7 which promised to solve the exact problem I had, it said something about explorer taking up CPU and corrupt wav files, however even after this fix.
