I recently upgraded my mother's inspiron 1545 to win 7 x64. Now, I see there are certain drivers missing - it doesn't recognize its' monitor, the cdrom is not listed, some function keys not working and I suppose there are more. Is there a single tool that can scan the hardware and see which drivers are missing or do I have to locate them manually? Where can I find a list of the hardware that's not compatible with the new OS?
I have an old Gateway windows xp that I upgraded to windows 7 the upgrade works fine except for the sound there is no sound device so I click the the speaker which has X on it and I tried windows update. did not work. it says I am missing a mass storage controller driver. I can't find this on the gateway site and have not found this on any site.
about 2 days ago my laptop got a virus which wouldnt let me open everything because "user32.dll" so I decided to just wipe and re-install windows, everything worked but it ended up not recognizing these : Ethernet controller, network controller, pci device, pci simple communications controller, sm bus controller, universal serial bus (USB) controller and an unknown device. I tried downloading the drivers from another computer and it wouldnt work, and ive tried going through the drivers that were meant for my exact model with my serial number but it only had 2 drivers listed and I downloaded them and put them on a USB and ran both, but nothing was even different, I CANT connect to the internet at all with this, so the only way is to use my phone or dads computer. I only got the win7 premium disc when I received this, no device and drivers disc, this laptop was a replacement for my defunct one so they gave me a free refurbished one.
So a few weeks ago I was running on Vista and everything crashed completely. After a lot of thinking about it, I decided it was time to change over to Windows 7 Home Premium. But a few days after a clean and easy install, my laptop switched itself off completely, I think because my fans aren't particularly on form atm. Switching it back on I received this message[CODE]No drivers were found! Please browse to locate a driver! With no options of making a new one and no evidence of my C or E drive, I got fed up I took the disk out and gave it another switch on (in hope) and voila! It worked again! Only to switch off and take me back to square one, receiving the same errors as before.Though now, when I try to boot from the CD, I reach the loading stage of Windows 7 I occasionally also receive a blue screen which informs me of a fatal error and forces me to restart the entire thing again. The laptop itself is about 3 years old and hasn't had many problems (other than the overheating) until now. I'm not fussed about saving work/pictures/etc, I have them all on disk elsewhere. I just really want to be able to sort this out
Its been about 2 week since I installed Windows 7.I love the new OS but I am still missing some drivers!!!I tried to contact Dell, and this was their answer:"You need to download the Windows 7 drivers"Like I dont know...But there are still no Windows 7 drivers on the Studio 1535 driver download page. This is the information Windows gives me:Name: A base system deviceDeveloper: unknownLocation: PCI-bus 3, device 1, function 3Name: Unknow deviceDeveloper: unknowmLocation: on Intel(R) ICH8M LPC Interface Controller - 2815I read something about Ricoh drivers or something like that, but I cannot find any solution... One of the missing drivers listed above is for the remote control (i think)Because it doesnt respond to any button I push on it
My holiday upgrades have started and I upgraded a Dell Inspiron 1420 today, it was a good experience, however there were some very important drivers missing in the out of the box process that were easy enough to fix so I wanted to share the details for those who might not find this so obvious because you have a machine that works GREAT with Windows 7! First, verify what sound device and video device you have before you start this process it will provide some confidence in the steps here. The Dell Inspiron 1420 Im referring to had a SIGMATEL STAC 92XX C-Major HD Audio processor and a NVidia GeForce 8400GS Graphics processor. Windows 7 doesnt seem to know this hardware is part of the machine and so the drivers are completely missing, instead there is generic audio driver (enables the headphone jacks, but not the built-in speakers) and a generic VGA graphics adapter driver provided (that provides full resolution but no Aero support).
I'm having a problem with my notebook. It keeps turning display off after idle for 2 or 3 minutes and going into sleep mode around five minutes after that. I did change and set power system in control panel many times but it did not work. I'm running on Window 7 home basic 64 bit.
My computer during system restore was turned off and keeps saying loading files what can I do to reset it to factory I did the f8 and the zero ideas already.
I have this notebook (LG P310 Tarsia), and I´ve installed Windows 7 Ultimate x64. Everything works perfectly, but there are some drivers that Windows Update doesn´t recognize and doesn´t install, so I have to use Vista drivers or look for them in web pages. These are the drivers:
Turbo Intel Memory
Nvidia GForce 9600m GT
Intel Chipset
Realtek HD
1) Is this normal?
2) I´ve found Nvidia and Turbo Memory at their web pages, but not the others. Anybody knows where can I found them?

I am trying to upgrade my Vista 32 bit to Windows 7 32 bit. Since my Vista is the home version and the win 7 I've purchased is professional, I have to do a custom install, which basically deletes all my programs and drivers. My notebook, however, didn't come with any drivers when I purchased it. All it asked me to do was make a recovery disk.
So my question is, how do I find said drivers? I've downloaded a few off HP but do those require existing drivers or can I use those after the Win 7 installation? My main concern is my ATI Mobility Radeon 3200 and CCC.
i have done a clean windows 7 32bit install on my HP G7000 Notebook,

How do i install printer drivers on notebook? I copied driver from cd which I got with printer and when I try to install it a window opens and says that program stopped working.
I have ASUS Notebook X59SR series and I installed the new windows 7. The drivers I have are for Vista 32bit. A friend told me to install them in compatibility mode and they would work for windows 7. Can anyone tell me if it will work because I can't find drivers for windows 7 for my notebook?
I have an Acer Aspire 5720. It is not listed on Acer's website as compatible with Win 7, however many other models with the same specs are. I have been able to find drivers for most of the hardware. The only ones I cannot locate are a Windows 7 x64 driver for both the Alps Touchpad and the Bison Crystal Eye webcam. I am an adventurous one, and have a solid backup, so I am going to try it anyway. I was just looking for any assistance in locating those two drivers.
I recently purchased an OEM version of Win7 Home Premium 64bit and I was hoping to upgrade the OS on my laptop from Windows Vista to Win7. However, MSI does not offer drivers for 64 bit Win7 for this series of notebooks, much to my dismay.
Can someone help me locate the appropriate drivers for my notebook so I don't need to continue to use the worst operating system Windows has ever released?
I have an acer asipre 4730z notebook it used to run vista. I have changed it to windows 7. I cant seem to find a driver for my base system. Can anyone tell me where i might find it?
