I upgraded from Windows Vista 32bit to Windows 7 64bit. I am using a SONY VGC-Lt18e all in one desktop.I searched the past threads on this forum and have been unsuccessful in locating the missing drivers and SONY doesn't help at all. I'm missing the following:Sony Firmware Extension ParserMass Storage ControllerMultimedia Controller.
The hard drive on my VAIO LT18E C2O tanked. I replaced the hard drive and upgraded to Windows 7. How do I get back the Sony preinstalled apps such as the internal webcam so they will work with Windows 7?
I recently upgraded my Sony Vaio VGN-AR71S laptop to Windows 7. All went well apart from two issues. My memory card slots no longer show under 'My Computer' and nothing is recognised when I insert a memory card into the slot...and secondly My built in web cam no longer works (although the mic does) Under device manager I have one yellow exclamation mark next to a USB device which I believe is my web cam and another under an unrecognised device which maybe my memory card slots.
I have tried the Sony support site and done a search on the web but so far I haven't found any drivers or solutions to my problem.
I have been trying to install Windows 7 x64 for many days now always with the same problems. I have tried v7000, v7022, & v7048.
I am trying to dual boot with Vista Home Premium x86. I have a completely empty 3rd hard drive I am trying to install too.
ok so I boot from the dvd and I get the typical windows driver loading and get to the first blue screen to install Windows 7. I click install and it says starting install then it stops and says cd/dvd device driver missing. This comes along with the brouse box to locate the driver. I have looked everywhere and do not see any kind of driver available for my DVD drive.
I have a Gateway GT5628
2.40 GHz Q6600 Core 2 Quad processor - 3gb Memory
I have upgraded my video card to a BFG Nvidia 260 gtx
& my DVD Drive to a Sony DVD-RW/DL +/- 18x DRU-840A
I have 2 SATA hard drives. 1 With Vista on it and one is just full of data.
I also have a New Western Digital Cavaiar 1TB SATA Hard Drive (This is the one I am trying to install to) I am not using any of the 3 drives in Raid configuration.
I have very limited choices in my bios to do much at all and I have updated to the newest bios available from Gateway.

I have a Sony Vaio NS and I wanted to upgrape to Windows 7 RC Build. I was wondering would I have to install any drivers since I am upgraping and not clean installing?
i have sony pcg 21313m notebook with winow 7 starter and when i am trying to put window proffesstional my screen reduces, and thatwhy i need to installed my be new graphic driver
I have a sony vaio vgn-sz430n running Windows Vista Business. I upgraded to Windows 7 and it went off without a hitch until the first log in. The desktop will not fill the screen and it only gives me two options for resolutions: ~1024x768 and 800x600. I went to device manager and found that my display driver is now standard vga driver.
The laptop has an nvidia geforce go 7400 graphics card and, from what I've read, it also shares memory with onboard integrated graphics...I think. I read other threads suggesting methods to fix this problem but none of them have worked. I tried downloading the windows 7/vista driver for that nvidia graphics card from nvidia but the setup program says no compatible hardware found.
I tried pointing Windows 7's driver installation (from device manager) to the driver's location in the setup folder but it tells me the most current driver is already installed and no update is needed. I even tried modding the driver (as suggested on another thread) but that didn't work.
It's a Sony VGN-NW265F/(B???) (Idk what the difference between the F and F/B is but on my laptop it is listed as just VGN-NW265F..I do have the Blu-ray player option though is that what the B stands for?) anyways
Device Manager is showing:

How I installed the latest Nvidia M 186.81 notebook driver to my Sony Vaio VGN-AR51E laptop. Sony is supposed to supply the drivers but they don't for some reason.
The latest laptop drivers from Nvidia work if you alter two lines of information in the appropriate inf file before executing. I downloaded the latest driver from Nvidia (186.81) and ran it so it unpacked into a folder in my C drive. [Message box says it won't install].
