Microsoft Optical Notebook 3000 Mouse Without Driver

I find rather strange that Windows 7 doesn't have a proper driver for the Mouse that is developed and sold by Microsoft. I found HID compliant Mouse in Device manager instead of the Intellipoint. Therefore, scrolling down in Winamp does'nt work.

Does anyone have a suggestion what can I do?

Windows 7 Release Candidate (RC)

Microsoft Optical Comfort Mouse 3000 Scrolling Problems
I've read where other people have had problems with this mouse's driver not working correctly in Win7, but I've also read posts where people say there is a driver specifically for Win7 (which I can't find).  When I try to scroll in things like CDisplay or other programs, the mouse won't scroll properly.  It will either not scroll at all or will require me to act like I'm scrolling VERY fast to move a small distant on the actual page.  Has this been fixed yet?

I know I read that the problem only seems to be present with Microsoft Mice, so I thought they'd have taken care of it asap but I still read posts where people have problems with them.

So, what can I do to fix the scrolling problem? (Even if I lose the intellipoint functions like magnifying)

Edit: Forgot to mention there is NO Win7 Driver for my 3000 model, but there is one for the 1000 model, should I try the 1000 driver?

Odd Mouse Behavior (MS Optical 3000)
Win 7 64
Microsoft Comfort Optical Mouse 3000 (USB) (IntelliPoint)
Driver: 6.31.236.0 12/4/2008

I'm experiencing odd behavior from my mouse, all involving the wheel.  Web pages (Firefox), windows boxes with scroll bars, this webpage & forum, MS Office etc.. work perfectly.  But 2 apps, there are a couple more I just can't remember from work :) the wheel operates badly. iTunes & Steam.

iTunes: The wheel appears to not work at all for scrolling at first.  But if I really flick scroll it really quickly, it will move.  Sometimes just a little, sometimes many pages.  The Steam 'browser' does the same thing.  Both have been deleted and reinstalled several times.  Same operation when I switched to Win7 32bit briefly, back on 64 now.

I believed at first the mouse was just going flakey and needed a new one.  But it works fine just about everywhere and I would probably wouldn't bother this forum with it if I didn't have 700 albums on my iTunes.  That's a heck of alot of 'clicks' when browsing the library.  I grabbed an old mouse out of the junk drawer, and the wheel on that works fine everywhere, including iTunes.  I can't remember the driver that Win loaded for it, it was something generic.  UIC Compliant Mouse or something similar.

I've played around with all settings available in control panel for this mouse. Nothing seems to help.  Since the problem seems to be consistant with certain apps, it leads me to believe it isn't the hardware, but do I have a 2 year old at home.  So some kind of sticky, prolonged heavy stress might have been applied to it while I wasn't looking...

So, Hardware or Software?

Microsoft Comfort Optical Mouse 1000 Issue
Basically the mouse keeps "unplugging" and  "plugging" continually . It's a real hassle to try to do anything when the mouse is doing this constantly. There has been no other mouse installed ( clean install of OS ), so I don't think it can be a driver conflict.

In fact, the mouse doing this was one reason I re-installed fresh over my first OS install which was just the "upgrade" option. And I tried other mice on the previous install and they were having the same problem, so it's not hardware specific.

Any thoughts?

Microsoft Optical Wireless Mouse USB Receiver Contrast Issue
I've been using Windows 7 for a while now and the first time I plugged in my USB dongle for the Microsoft wireless mouse, it went haywire. When it starts and logs on it is fine but as soon as I use the start menu or access a program off the shortcuts or anything else, it goes into a high contrast, unreadable mode, and if I close it the problem will go away.

Can't read anything and do not know why this happened but it started immediately after I plugged in this mouse. Any ideas? Remember I cannot do anything or get info (driver related) in Windows 7 as I cannot read anything.

Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000 Problem
I've upgraded my Vista-based notebook Acer Aspire 3810t to Windows 7 build 7100 and cannot use my Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000 any more. When trying to pair the mouse (after I enter 0000 as a passcode) I get an error:

Adding this device to this computer failed

The attempt to add the device resulted in an unknown error.

The error code is:0x8007048f

Contact your device manufacture for assistance, Bluetooth adapter is Broadcom 2045. Mouse worked great with Windows Vista. Other devices (2 cell-phones) work great with Windows 7.

Microsoft Wireless Notebook Presenter Mouse 8000 Not Scrolling Properly In ITunes
I'm not sure if this post should go here or under hardware compatibility, but I am having no problems with my Microsoft Wireless Notebook Presenter Mouse 8000 at all until I attempt to use the scroll wheel in iTunes.  When attempting to scroll through my music, it doesn't respond smoothly, or at all for that matter, unless I really spin the wheel quickly.

Mouse 3000 Driver Problem
I have a Comfort Mouse 3000.  It works perfectly under XP but under Win 7 it behaves oddly.  It's fine in a browser (IE or Firefox) but in other programs it's jerky when scrolling.  Suddenly it seems to only do a page at a time.  If I switch to a browser window it's fine again.  I have tried Intellimouse drivers 6.10.158.0 and 6.30.191.0 and they're both the same.

I keep looking through the mouse properties because there used to be a way to set the scroll rate but all these drivers have is a bar that goes from fast to slow - it scrolls a whole page regardless.

Has anyone solved this?

Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop 2.20 In Devices And Printers
Small item but after fully patching my system, I noticed I have an unspecified item called "Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop 2.20". The system correctly identified my keyboard as the "Wireless Comfort Keyboard 4000" and my mouse as the "Wireless Laser Mouse 6000". I can only think that this unspecified item might be referring to the USB wireless transmitter that my keyboard and mouse use.

Anyone know what this item refers to?

Microsoft Bluetooth Mouse And Lexmark Printer Driver

Keyboard Issue - Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop 700 V2
I tried to type a pound symbol(£), so I pressed shift+3, and got a hash instead of £.

All letter keys work perfectly, as far as I can see, it is only the 2 and 3 keys which dont work.

2 gives me the @ symbol, whilst pressing the @ key gives me ".

3 gives me #, whilst pressing that key gives me , shift pressing the # key gives me |.

What has just happened?

The keyboard is part of a keyboard/mouse set, the Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop 700 v2, and I am running Win 7 Home Premium x64.

USB Optical Mouse Does Not Work
USB Optical Mouse does not work when Windows 7 RC goes into screensaver and wakes to Welcome screen. I am using the Windows 7 RC and when the computer returns from the screensaver or sleep mode my optical mouse intermittently (the majority of the time) doesn't work until I unplug it and then plug it back in.  Is this a USB problem?  Or is it something I need to change in my Windows settings (i.e. power, screensaver, etc...)?

I was using a Razer Deathadder mouse when it started then I switched to a Logitech MX510 both opticals. The MX510 didnt do it for a while then it came back. Ive tried drivers for both. If you know any fixes without reinstalling windows it would help ...

Intellimouse Optical USB - Intermittant Reset / Cannot Find BT Mouse
Ok here is something for someone to figure out. I have an Intellimouse Optical USB (P/N X05-48976) connected to my Dell D/Dock via USB. The Notebook is a Dell D620 4GB Ram, 2.0G Dual-core Processor. I am dual booting Windows XP and Windows-7 RC.

When using XP, the mouse works flawlessly. When running under Windows-7, the mouse intermittenly "disconnects". I do not see a USB disconnect, but instead looks more like a complete driver reset.  The mouse goes completely dark for about 5-10 seconds, then comes back on and is fine for about 1 min, then goes dark for 5-10 sec, then back on. It is VERY annoying.

I installed the latest Intellimouse software I could find and the problem persists. Also I have a Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000 (P/N X807028-001) that works flawlessly in XP, but fails to be found in Windows-7. The W7 bluetooth  found my cell phone OK, but will not find my mouse. BT Radio is Dell Bluetooth 350.

Notebook Touch Pad Would Not Work After I Installed A Wireless Mouse
After I installed rapoo 1800 wireless suit(inculding a wireless mouse and a wireless keyboard), the touch pad of my notebook could not be detected by windows 7 and so the touch pad would not work now,
I don't know whether it is something wrong about the compatibility problem of the wireless mouse and  my notebook's touch pad, or it is the bug for windows 7, develpors help!

1.After i installed the wireless mouse, the touch pad wouldn't work. And I found a excalmatory mark at the touch pad driver in device manager, so I deleted the touch pad driver,  and made the device manager to scan for hardware changes, no hardware changes were found.

2.I take apart my notebook to discover whether it is a contact problem of my touch pad and my notebook. I found the connection between the touch pad and the notebook book was well. and among the several times of restart, once, just once, the touch pad and the wireless mouse worked both, but the next time when I restarted computer, the touch pad wouldn't work any more.

3.My notebook is Hasee A220s.(Hasee is a chinese famouse computer producer)

Microsoft Wireless Mouse Freeze
I just installed Windows7 Beta on my P4 1.8 desktop with a Matrox G550 dual head video card and it looks pretty good.  I ran the latest software from Matrox and I now have both monitors running.

I connected to the internet and downloaded Windows Live Messanger and as soon as the install was completed my Microsoft Wireless Mouse froze and thats where I am right now, unable to do anything. I rebooted into safe mode with internet access and everything works fine.

Any ideas as to how to fix this problem? Is this a legit "bug" and is this the right place to report it?
