Locate Win 7 Product Activation Key
I received Windows 7 with my Action Pack subscription last week and the enclosed flyer advises I can download the Product Activation Key via the Partner Portal but I cannot locate it. My membership is up to date but the site says there are no valid downloads available. How (or where) can I get the product activation key please?

Activation Error - Put The Product Key
I already had Windows Vista on my PC and Windows XP on my Laptop and bought Windows 7 Ultimate from my Students software supplier, assuming that I could install the software on the two computers. I installed the software on my Laptop first and it seemed to install OK and then later I installed it on my main PC but two weeks later I am getting a message on my Laptop saying that 'there is a problem with my Windows 7 Ultimate activation, please put the Product key in or buy another copy of the software' ? I tried putting the software key in but to no avail and when I tried writing to Microsoft using my main PC, Microsoft's automated system could not recognise the product key I was putting in. Maybe the Students Edition of Windows 7 does not qualify for help from Microsoft, or something. To say I am frustrated it to put it lighly, I had a valid version of Windows XP provided with my laptop and I bought a legal version of Windows Vista for my main PC but as an impecunious student I just cannot afford to spend too much on software and now it looks as though I will have to go back to Windows XP on my Laptop because I'm sure that Microsoft will not let me transfer my legal copy of Windows Vista to my laptop. It is quite confusing to have two such different operating systems between my laptop, used at University and my home PC, which has a printer and various other goodies attached plus it is time consuming to install the new software or to uninstall it plus it is getting very expensive. Please tell me that I can use Windows 7 on my two PC's, laptop and PC or that I can transfer my copy of Windows Vista to my laptop. Incidentally, my copy of Windows 7 was very late arriving and the Students software company who supplied it said that this was because many hundreds of copies of the software, including one with my name on it had been stolen and they had to cancel all of the old product keys and it took them more than 2 weeks to do this and send out new ones.

Trail Download Of Win 7 - MAPS Serial Key Activation
I am new to MAPS never mind the TechNet forum. I wanted to ask a simple question regarding MAPS.I recently subscribed to MAPS and wanted to know if it is possible to install a copy of Windows 7 Ultimate while I wait for Microsoft to grant me access to the serial keys for MAPS software?ie. Install Trail -> Activate with MAPS serial.Normally I am patient with this type of thing however, I have recently had to salvage my data from an extremely old Athlon XP machine . (yes....extremely old!) and I really need to get back to work but I don't want to install a copy of Windows 7 on my new machine and configure my software just to find out I have to do it all over again.

Activate Win 7 Upgrade Using XP Product Key
I am interested in Windows 7 and I am currently running the Windows 7 release candidate. I have in my possession a Windows XP Pro product key. It is not activated on my current computer, due to the fact that it's OEM, and previously activated on an older computer that got fried. If I were to purchace a Windows 7 upgrade package, would I be able to activate it using my XP product key? or would I have to purchase a 'full' version of Windows 7?

Can I Use OEM Win 7 HP Product Key To Install 64-bit OS Off Of Retail Disc ?
I purchased in June a new computer from Dell with a free upgrade to Windows 7. Â I wanted 64-bit but was not given the option. Â I received my 32-bit upgrade disc from Dell. My brother purchased a retail upgrade and so he has both 32-bit and 64-bit upgrade discs. Â I know that I must do a clean install. Â I want to know if I can use his 64-bit disc to run my install but then use my upgrade key from Dell. So in the end I have 64-bit OS using my product key that Dell gave me.

Upgrade From Win XP / Vista To Win7: Product Key Language Version
We currently run 3 PCs at home (all 32 bit): PC 1: German Windows Vista Home Premium PC 2 & 3: English Windows XP Home I'd like to purchase the Windows 7 family pack (English) to upgrade all of the PCs (clean install preferred). Questions: 1. Can all 3 PCs be upgraded to the English version of Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit with the family pack, despite the different language versions? 2. When performing a clean install, is it sufficient to enter the product key of the previously installed system when using the upgrade disk/key or is the old system required on the harddisk? 3. Just to confirm: The family pack comes with both, the 32 bit and 64 bit version for Windows 7 Home Premium?

Product Key Error - Invalid Key For This Version Of Windows
Just successfully installed Win 7(RC) on a partition I created on a Vista(32-bit) Home Premium machine,so now I've set up a dual-boot. Anyways,as I am going to enter the product key that was given with my download it's giving me an "invalid key for this version of Windows" error. And along the process of identifying the cause,I realized I've installed a "Home Premium" version of the RC download;is this how it's supposed to be? This RC,a Home Premium version? Just want to verify because on the Computer's property page it's saying it's only a "30-day eval copy". How am I going to get another product key for this version of th RC?For what I've read through forums, this RC is supposed to be an Ultimate version? Anybody?

Will Product Key For Win 7 64 Bit Business Upgrade Work With 32 Bit Install
I purchased several copies of Windows7 including the upgrade offer deal from Microsoft for Business. The upgrade CD came as a 64 bit which I will eventually install on my machine, but for the next several months I need to run 32 bit (legacy software which we are phasing out). Will the product key for the the 64 bit upgrade work with 32 bit install (I have a 32 bit Business which I have already installed on a different machine with its own product key).

Activation Key Will Not Work
I was installing the Windows 7 RC yesterday and skipped the activation key section, knowing that I could enter it again afterward and activate. That was a mistake; I woke up this morning and the computer had set its date to the year 7990 and was quite upset because it's pre-release version had expired. I changed the date back, of course. I tried entering in my product key using the "Activate Windows" section, and it just jumped straight to "This pre-release version of windows has expired." So, I tried doing an upgrade install over it again so that I could enter the new product key. I entered it in this time during installation, and it still is whining that the copy of windows is not genuine, even if I try using the "Change Product Key" section or the console command that someone suggested here. Help? Is this going to require a fresh install?

Help With Activation Code : Invalid Key
i recently installed the RC of windows 7 ultimate. the version is like 7600 er sumthin i dunno. im pretty computer savvy but everytime i generate a key from microsoft it says it is an invalid key and refuses to activate. any help with this would be great. also, i installed the rc about a month after the downloads stopped, so i dont know if that would have caused the issue...and i installed the it via an iso image mounted onto a virtual drive, so it dont know if that would have also contributed to this.

Windows 7 Activation - Only 10 Times Per Key?
Will Windows 7 have the same activation protection as Vista? Only 10 activations per key? If the answer is yes, how many petition signatures would be needed to change this limit to a higher number like 20 or once a month? Some of us format our hard drives and switch back and fourth between OSs a lot.

Hide / Remove Activation Key - It Could Be Done - How ?
Recently on a site that explained how to install Windows 7 upgrade there was info on how to remove your Windows 7 Activation Key after activation. The reason I want to do this is so that someone can't run Magic Jelly Bean and reveal my key. This happened before so that fix explaining hiding or removing it sounds great. I've searched high and low and can't find this info anymore. Has anyone heard of how to do this?
