Lenovo U400 Conexant Internal Microphone Receives Static Input
Recently received my U400 and the microphone worked great. However, at some point during a Skype call, my partner could not hear me very well and was only able to hear static on my end.

I checked my sound setting and under the "Recording" tab, the Conexant Internal Microphone was very active and "loud" (as if I was constantly talking). I went under properties and checked "Listen to this device" and all I could hear was static. I tried talking but couldn't hear myself. Lowering microphone level didn't seem to change the amount of static I hear from my microphone. I turned off mic boosts and enhancements, but it didn't change static.

Internal microphone is set as default device. Stereo mix is similarly active and loud. Driver version is (up to date). Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit.

Tried uninstalling driver and letting Windows install a new driver, but problem persisted. Pretty much can't use microphone to record, but it shows that it is active and is receiving a lot of sound somehow.

Built-in Webcam Microphone And Microphone Line-in Not Working?
I have a Dell Vostro 1500, running 32-bit Windows 7. It came with Vista, but I upgraded to Windows 7 a couple months ago, which I think is causing the issues I'm experiencing. According to whoever I'm speaking with, the sound for the microphone built in to my webcam fades in and out and gets really loud randomly. In an attempt to solve this, I bought an external microphone which also does not work. The sound driver is the SigmaTel High Definition Audio CODEC, version When I tried to update it through Windows 7's update driver software it says I have the best version for my system, but I still suspect that this could be what is causing the problem.

When I use hibernate with my Acer laptop, after I wake up the laptop the microphone is out. When I use regular restart the problem is over.I came across various reporting instances of this hibernate/microphone problem on the web but for me no acceptable solutions.
My laptop is an Acer 7740G 624G50Mn. Skype is Windows is 7 Home Premium SP1. On a Fritzbox Fon WLAN 7340. The microphone I use is that of the Logitech Webcam C910.The microphone is ticked (the standard microphone) in Sound > Properties. After I wake up the laptop from Hibernate, moving the slider in Record > Levels does not change the number in the box to the left.

Can't Get Microphone To Work
my computer does not recognize when i plug a microphone in. I am using a pair of headphones with a microphone attached to it. I have tried 2 different sets so i know the actual mic works. Under control panel -> Hardware and Sound -> Manage Audio Devices, Recording tab, it says "no audio devices are installed" I have tried using 2 different ports and it still doesnt work.I recently installed to windows 7 from vista, could it be that some sort of audio driver didnt get installed or xfered over correctly? How would i figure this out? My microphone worked just fine when i had windows vista installed. NOTE that my sound works fine and the audio comes through my headset just fine, but i cant get the microphone to work.

USB Microphone Being Recognized Half Way?
I am having an issue getting my microphone working. I used to have the logitech USB mic about a year ago and that worked great, then one day it stopped working. I tried fixing it for a while but couldn't figure it out, so I gave up on it. The mic was not the problem because it worked perfectly fine on other computers. Recently a came across another brand USB mic so I decided I would give that a try also, this just doesn't work either. The problem is that when I plug it in, it recognizes and installs the drivers (USB Audio Device). When I go into recording on sound options, it shows the mic there as the default device. Now when I click it, the levels tab is just blank. Also I cannot make any changes to the microphone such as "Listen to this device" etc, none of the options will stick. If I go into windows sound recording for example, it will tell me "An audio recording device cannot be found". To troubleshoot this issue, I uninstalled the USB port it is plugged into, tried it again. I tried this with multiple ports front and back. I then tried uninstalling USB Audio Device drivers, then when I plug the mic in, it installs everything again. It does it all successfully, no errors, but then it doesn't give me a working mic.I made a video demonstrating the problem.

No Microphone Boost In Windows 7?
First of all:I'm having a Creative Soundmaster Audigy 4 SE 7.1 soundcard and the (according to the Windows update manager) latest driver availabe.I recently installed Windows 7 because I always wanted to know how it was.Everything went fine, the Update Manager automatically installed all the drivers I needed, but now there's a problem with my audio settings.Since I've been switching over to Windows 7 people have told me that I'm very very quiet in Teamspeak or Skype, so I tried to activate the microphone boost in the audio settings. But when I open the settings of my microphone and click the "custom" tab, all I see is "Do not monitor".There's no microphone boost. I heard from some people they had the same problem under Windows Vista and solved it by switching to newer drivers, but alas, it seems I have the newest beta driver for Windows 7.

Is there any other way towards activating the boost or do I just have to wait until Creative releases a Windows 7 beta driver with microphone boost included?I also checked if the problem comes from my headset, but it's working fine under Windows XP with microphone boost enabled. The voice recognition experience
