Intel 82945G Drivers / Support For Independent Dual Display
I can not seem to find a way to engage the Intel 82945G chipset in dual independent display mode, which worked natively in Vista.
I have tried installing the Windows 7 Beta:
As a fresh 32bit installation
As a fresh 64bit installation, and As an upgrade to Windows Vista Ultimate 32bit version. where the display was fully functioning in dual mode.
It seems none of the publicly available drivers for Intel 82945G integrated graphics chip that are Windows 7 compatible support the independent multi monitor mode. this includes:
The Windows 7 Beta drivers supplied natively by the Microsoft install, The latest downloadable drivers from Intel: v7.14.10.1504), This is quite disappointing, as the native drivers used by Windows Vista, support dual independent displays, SEAMLESSLY. It appears as if this shortcoming has to do with WDDM 1.0 support vs. WDDM 1.1, although it isn't entirely clear to me if this is the case.
SDVO (Serial Digital Video Out) or ADD2 Dual-Display Expansion Card in the PCI-Express slot
1600x1200 capable Viewsonic P95f+ CRT using 15pin VGA Cable
1680x1050 LCD widescreen using DVI Cable
Please let me know if drivers (even beta or non-public versions) are available that support independent dual display mode, or if there is some way to enable the previous generation Vista drivers to manage the graphics shics chipset such that it supports independent dual displays.

Intel 82945G Express Video Unsupported
Installed Windows 7. Everything detected except for an issue with the i945G onboard video card.  Does not seem to work. Stuck using VESA mode which is slow, & low refresh rate giving me slight migraine. Not fun at all to use like this. Can't use Windows 7 until a new, fixed Intel video driver is released. The driver states: "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)" I even installed the Vista driver hoping for a fix but I get the same issue. Require a new driver from Intel or Microsoft to work with Windows 7.

Vista LPM Intel IASTOR - Intel Matrix Drivers Auto Install Issue
So I'm an unfortunate owner of a WD Raptor 74GB drive, which has known issues when LPM, linked power mode, is enabled in AHCI mode. Apparently Vista enabled LPM on desktop systems, intentional or not, and some drives don't respond well to LPM commands and freeze.  The issue was present in Vista, and both Intel and MS have KB articles on it. Simpliest solution for Vista was to install the latest Intel Matrix drivers. This would stop the random freezing of the system and life was good. Well to my shock and horror, the same broken Intel AHCI SATA drivers are present in W7! In fact, the problem was even worse. So I figured I'd download the Intel Matrix drivers to fix it. Well, the Intel installer dies early on with a DLL error and refuses to proceed. I finally forced a drive update on one of the SATA controllers and got the new Intel driver installed, and no more freezes. Rough steps are: 1. Download latest Intel Matrix Drivers for Vista 2. Run installer and wait for it to die, but do NOT close the installer or acknowledge the error. 3. Go to c:windows emp and copy the IIF2 directory to some place easy to remember. 4. In the device manager open one of the "Standard AHCI 1.0 Serial ATA controller" objects and perform a device driver update. Point it to the IIF2 directory and the driver should update. 5. Reboot your computer and you should see your HDs detected. Now what's weird is I have two controllers, and I could do a driver update on one, but not the other. Thankfully the one that did update had my WD drive, so I'm fine. It's really shocking to me that given this is a KNOWN problem with Vista and the Intel AHCI drivers, that MS can't put fixed drivers into W7. Wake up Microsoft and Intel!

Intel 915 Display Issue
I know of the issue with the Intel 915 XDDM drivers and the video freezing. I have Direct3D disabled and everything is running fine. However, when I unplug my Dell laptop and it goes on battery mode, the colors on my display completely wash out to where I can hardly see anything on the screen. If I CTRL-ALT-DEL, switch user and go to the logon screen, everything returns to normal. Is there some new power management feature that would cause this to happen to the display? If so, what specifically would cause this and can it be disabled? Any suggestions as to what to start disabling to pinpoint this issue?

Multiple Display Swapping Support
On one of our workstations we were able to successfully install Windows 7, it is excellent, however there is a feature missing from the Display properties that was available in Vista. We need the ability to swap monitors assignments. Vista had an option to select which monitor was on the left, and which monitor was on the right. We have a 24 inch HP monitor we use as the main monitor on the right, and a 19inch Samsung monitor we use as a secondary on the left. While Win 7 does give the ability to choose which is the primary, it does not allow us to select which monitor is on the right or left of the other. Unfortunately Win 7 has detected the HP as the left monitor. With the desktop setup it's not a matter of just switching the physical placement of the monitors. We need the ability to select position as it was offered in our previous setup. Until we find a way to swap them, we will continue of course to use the RC, but hope this will be addressed in one of the service update releases before Win7 goes RTM. If anyone has seen a solution to this issue outside of 3rd party software such as ultramon, we would be interested in hearing from you.

Intel Turbo Memory Support
Out of the box W7 Beta did not install any driver for my ThinkPad X200 Intel turbo Memory module. I therefore tried to install the latest Intel driver for Vista. Installation went smooth, but: With this driver installed, my X200 never successfully returns from sleep or hybernate. I just get a black screen. Uninstalling this driver resolves this problem.

Intel 865GBF No Native Support
Installed Win 7 over an old Intel 865GBF main board (Intel Extreme on board graphics controller with shared mem). Getting the graphics drivers to work is so frustrating!! Everything works fine except: It installs the standard VGA driver by default -- which doesn't allow my LCD/TV to go full res (1680x1050). Also, no updates for the same. If I install the Intel drivers from the website, (in XP compatibility mode) they work fine, except keep hanging whenever there is any video playing (WMP / Flash / etc) and generally Windows 7 becomes crashy/hangy. There are no drivers for the 865 mobo from Intel (only support till winXP). Any ideas?

Does anyone have a way to get a device driver installed for this device.

Intel 855GM Graphics Chipset Support
I slapped Win 7 on my trusty Panasonic CF-T2 Toughbook, and it's all working great! But, unlike with Vista, the 855GM chipset is no longer recognised out of box. So I took the driver with DriverMax from Vista and put in in Win 7. It's kinda working alright as a Netbook, but anything that has more demanding graphics (DivX movie playback, or even just the Windows performance evaluation makes the laptop hang itself completely). It's already clear though that Win 7 works MUCH more smoothly on this machine (which is 6 years old), comparable to the original XP that came with it, although it only has a 1.1GHz CPU and 756MB RAM! It would be a darn shame if MS didn't do anything about it, this machine could work perfectly! If anyone has the same hanging issue with 855GM graphics and has resolved that problem please let me know!

Terminal Services Windows Won't Support A Second Display
Using build 7000, I've had the same result using the Citrix Web Interface to access a Server 2003 and the TS Web Access interface to access a Server 2008 box (no Citrix). In both scenarios, the session windows will only operate in the primary display. They will not maximize to fill both displays and they cannot be dragged between displays (the edge disappears as though the app were being pulled off-screen). I have an NVIDIA Quadro NVS 135M adapter, and have had the same results with driver prerelease - WDDM 1.1 and the one before that. If it's relevant, I'm using a Dell Latitude D630 with 4 GB RAM.On XP and Vista I didn't have this problem.I've tried a variety of settings in the nView Desktop Manager - including turning it off; no change. This is not a serious problem, but it would be nice to run my apps in my secondary display, which is much larger than the notebook's.

Intel 965 Video Chipset - Driver Removed Resolution Support
How do we get Intel to re-enable 3840x1200 support for this chipset? Old versions of the driver that were available for Vista, and that started out in Win 7 Beta supported 3840x1200. However the recently updated drivers do not. The chipset supports it, but the drivers disable it. It's important because it means that my Matrox DualHead2Go adapter no longer drives my dual 24inch 1920x1200 resolution monitors. I used to be really happy with all my beautiful screen real-estate. I can't find the back-level drivers that work, and I'm stuck using new drivers that disabled a key feature. My Machine is the Lenovo x61 tablet with Intel Mobile 965 Express chipset.

Problems W/ Dual Display
System specs: nvidia 8800gt 4gb ram AMD X2 5600+ My primary display is a standard lcd monitor and is working properly. I have a 32" aquos that i use as a secondary display connected via an s-video cable(dvi-hdmi cable on the way). I'm currently running the 64 bit RC. The system recognizes the display, but I only see a black screen. The second display worked properly with both XP and windows 7 beta. All drivers are fully updated. Interestingly enough, if i take a screenshot and paste it, the wallpaper from my second display is there. Also, the mouse cursor disappears onto the second display and i can drag icons etc. onto it, I simply just can't see them on the display itself. It appears that aside from the fact that I can't see what is being displayed, my system is behaving the same way it always did. I'm assuming that it is something driver related, or perhaps it's a settings tweak I'm missing. Any insight would be terrific, I'd hate to have to downgrade back to vista! Also, tv is a non pnp display, if that is relevant. NOTE: Well the DVI-HDMI cable came, set it up, and there we have it, two displays again. Perhaps MS was subtly telling me to replace my cheap s video cable. I'm not sure exactly why it's fixed, but if I can give any further insight I certainly will.
