IDT High Definition Audio Driver Crashes Win 7

I installed Win 7 and kept the default audio driver for several months with no problems.  Yesterday I checked Windows update for optional updates and saw one for IDT High definition audio.  After installing and rebooting, my system became useless with 100% processor usage and no audio at all.  It took about 15 minutes for the computer to catch up with me so I could roll back the driver.  This is the update info:

IDT - Audio - IDT High Definition Audio CODEC
Installation date: ‎3/‎19/‎2009 7:16 AM
Installation status: Successful
Update type: Optional
IDT Audio software update released in September, 2008

More information:
http://winqual.microsoft.com/support/?driverid=20215950

Help and Support:
http://support.microsoft.com/select/?target=hub

I rolled back to the default windows driver which is "High definition audio device" version 6.1.7000.0 and dated 12/12/08.  This fixed the problem.  Did anybody else have a problem like this or was it just me?

i tried to install the win 7 driver that i downloaded directly from the realtek site but after i install wen i reboot the machine.. it gets stucked on the "starting Windows" page, and don't go any where further...

i try made system restore and didn't work either. the only solution was to reinstall the windows 7.. i tried install the older versions of the audio drive to, like the XP version and the vista version but had the same problem.

Conexant High Definition Audio Drivers Issue
I have a dv2100 laptop on which i installed Windows 7 beta.

I am having an issue with the audio driver, sound comes out of the speakers, and when I plug in a headphone sound comes out both the speakers and the headphones. Also the microphones do not work, built in or plugged in. There is also an occasional popping sound when the system is trying to play a sound.

Hardware IDs:
HDAUDIOFUNC_01&VEN_14F1&DEV_5047&SUBSYS_103C30B2&REV_1000
HDAUDIOFUNC_01&VEN_14F1&DEV_5047&SUBSYS_103C30B2

Windows 7 installed this driver:
Provider: Microsoft
Date: 12/12/2008
Version: 6.1.7000.0

HP provides this vista driver which will not install:
Conexant High-Definition Audio Driver

Date: 06-2008
Version: 4.36.7.60 A

Sound worked fine under windows XP, not sure about vista as I did not have it on my system.

Any help with a different driver or a way to get the audio working properly would be welcome.

HP Pavilion Dv8220ca / Conexant High Definition Audio
I have a (3 yr.) HP Pavilion dv8220ca Laptop. Looking for a driver that will be compatible with Windows 7. My friend bought the new OS for his exact same lappy (without too much concern about updating) and said that he cannot found a sound driver that will work. I want to upgrade to Windows 7 and have been looking for a driver to fix his issue, so I can fix mine.

I can't find the exact sound card, the normal driver set is a Conexant AC-Link Audio Driver. If anyone knows of a work around or a universal driver compatible with Windows 7 please let me know. So far I have tried the Conexant High Definition Audio 4.8.0.0 and I only received an ERROR.

SigmaTel High Definition Audio Codec For Sony Vaio VGC-RC110G
I have a Sony Vaio VGC-RC110G and installed Windows 7 RC 32 bit and it went smoothly 'cept for 2 missing drivers. The main one is the sound device as it is NOT being read. I can't get any sound. I spent several hours on the net looking for a compatiable driver, and alot of people ran into trouble with the SigmaTel High Definition Audio Codec when they upgraded to Vista. Tested a bunch of drivers (from Sony site and even updated sound drivers from Dell) and none worked.

Even downloaded some program called detective driver to help me find compatiable driver but I'd have to pay $30 to activate the program. I would but Im afraid it might not find it.

High Definition Export To Tape
Exporting video to tape in Windows 7 RC only works for Standard definition (DV) videos. The firewire-port is open.

If I export (HDV) high definition videos to tape the firewire port stay closed so no HDV is exported to tape.

The taperecorder starts but no movie is recorded. On VISTA everything works(same pc-other partion)!
(HDV/DV taperecorder Sony HVR-M25AP connected with a firewire cable to pc and recognised in windows7 rc)

I think it's a driver problem (avcstrm.sys or/and mstape.sys). How can I replace these drivers to the "original" from the Win7 RC dvd to test that?

Have Realtek High Definition Sound But No Hdmi Output
I've upgraded from vista to 7 and I am getting no sound, I've searched, searched and tried alot of different things, I see alot of people on this forum with the same issues, but I've tried most of them. I've installed and unistalled all the different drivers from realtek, but no luck. I have realtek high definition sound but no hdmi output. In my device manager it says the sound driver is installed properly, but when I tried to test the sound it fails to test tone, I don't know if it has to deal with an audio codec. I have regular speaker that connect to a sound jack. At this point I am quite desperate. I've spent all night trying to figure this out.

Flash Movies (like Youtube) And Audio Crashes
Haven't seen this anywhere else, so I'm asking. I'm running 64 bit using my mobos onboard adi 1988b sound. Periodically when I go to play a flash movie, 1 of the 2 audio services crashes. The troubleshooter starts and runs, it fixes it and everything is fine. Doesn't happen everytime, but does happens in Firefox and IE. Nothing else trips this.

Win 7 Soundmax Audio Driver
My Windows XP installation has a Soundmax audio driver. Having now the ability to dual boot my computer to Windows 7 I have since learned that there is little likelihood of Soundmax producing a driver compatible with Windows 7. Windows 7 Device Manager indicates under Sound Controller. what it refers to as a High Definition Audio Device and that the drivers installed are working properly but still no sound. Attempts to update these drivers report that the drivers in question are up to date. There is no indication by yellow exclamation marks that anything isn't as it should be in Device Manager.

Any suggestions for restoring sound would be appreciated

Win X64 General High Ram Usage
I was using vista x86 up untill windows 7 came out, it was the I decided to go for my first x64 operating system. I have an i7 and 3gb ram.

Ever since I've moved over, games take up a stupid amount of memory, they'll go to 80 - 90%. I recently decided to install Crysis Warhead as I never got round to completing it, last time I played it I was on vista x86 and it ran fine. However now, it takes forever to load and/or freezes because there's no memory left.

I've tried setting the page file at 200 - 1024, 1024 - 1024 and turning it off, none of that makes a difference. I tried increasing it to 4096-4096 just out of curiosity, that managed to load the game, however, while I did have a constant 50-60fps I was lagging really badly and had 91% ram usage.

Am I missing something here, does anyone else have this issue?

Win 7 X64 Frequent Crashes / Reboots
I recently built a new PC and installed Win 7 Ultimate RC on it.  It constantly crashes/reboots itself when using the Windows UI.  It seems to be fine in Safe Mode.  When I say using the Windows UI I mean using a browser (tried IE and Chrome) as well as just browsing through control panel or typing a search into a browser search box.

Frequently the display driver crashes or the UI gets slight distorted again like the display driver is having issues.  I tried to stress test it by running Fallout 3 for an hour and had no problems.

Random Win 7 X64 Crashes And Freezes
every time i try to install windows 7 on my new build, i do a clean install, however it spends about a second on the copying files part, then waits a few minutes before it starts expanding files. it hangs at 0% for a few more minutes then it will start accelerating. it will crash at random points while it is "expanding files".

the crashes vary, sometimes the display will explode and look lagged out then look like small tiles, the display sometimes turns red where shadows are as well, it also likes to just freeze. it frequently likes to freeze at 76 or 46%.

i had 7 installed one time when i kept my mouse moving constantly throughout the installation, but then the freezes would happen when i would boot into normal windows, but not safe mode.
