Huawei E169 USB 3g Modem Driver
I can't get my Huawei 169 modem to function in Windows 7, I've tried both build 6801 and 6956 -same result As soon as I plug the modem in Windows 7 recognizes it as a usb disk, I can access the disk and launch the on board installer. I've downloaded the latest driver from the Huawei site, but the installer fails with the error "can't find any modem" If I do a hardware scan in the device manager only the usb disk turns up, but not the modem. I'm using this modem on this laptop in both WinXP and OSX without any problems, so the modem and PC is allright... Is there any special windows 7 services that I need to start?

HSDPA Modem Stick Doesn't Work
my HSDPA GlobeTrotter modem stick doesn't work with Windows 7 Professional 64 Bit version. My provider (T-mobile) supplies the newest driver, firmware, and connectionsoftware (web'n'walk manager). It isn't mentioned if the driver is compatible to 64 bit OS. As i first connected the stick to USB, windows displayed that the hardware was correctly installed, but after i installed the connectionsoftware it displayed that the hardware driver was not found, so i started troubleshouting and installed the driver again manualy. But the software can't find the modem to get a connection. Does someone have a clue?

My usb modem from Huawei that I got from Vodafone doesn't work with the drivers I have. Â Does anyone know if the driver for Vista will work or what I could do to make it work. Â If I can't get the modem to work it's no use trying Windows 7 out. If I can't connect to the internet what's the use..

Huawei E169G USB Data Stick Error: 604
I can't connet to my mobile internet with Huawei E169G datastick. The datastick is dedected from windows proberly, there are no errors at the software installation, but when i try to connect i get error: 604 from the Internet Connection manager (Hutchison). Does anybody know what I can do to get this working?

Huawei E156g Mobile Modem Freezes
Huawei e156g Mobile Broadband USB Stick HP Pavilion dv7 2070ea Windows 7 Professional 64bit The laptop came preinstalled with Vista Home 64bit and i was able to use the mobile broadband without any issues. I have installed Windows 7 Pro 64 in a dual boot config and it runs fine on wired or wireless connections, but when i try to use the mobile broadband i run into issues. After the modem driver and software install and a few restarts I was able to get all the devices in the device manager to be happy, and i was able to connect via the 3 Connect software and access the internet. But after a few minutes Windows will inevitably lock up, regardless of what program is being used. The screen will freeze, there will be zero harddrive activity and the only course of action is to hold down the power button The mobile broadbands company site says that the vista drivers should be happy on windows 7, but something isnt happy. I really need to resolve this as my mobile broadband allows me to connect to various servers for work via its allowed IP address. Is this the modem, the USB bus or something else? I have checked the event log and there isnt anything useful in there.

Conflict Between DVD Drive And 3G Huawei Modem
cuerrently i use windows 7 ultimate RTM. the conflict made between my DVD drive (samsung) and 3G modem (Huawei). after installation the windows 7 ultimate, when i connect my 3G modem (dial up connectivity) and eject my dvd drive for dvd play or other works, it's open but then close not stay to putting the disc. also if i play a dvd and connect the dial up connection the dvd play is do hang. the it does respons and the windows explorer show not responding.  (this connection properly work at windows vista do not make any error with dvd drive or other else) i think it's create problem at windows 7 stage, so what can i do?

Installing Huawei modem Driver of PTCL V Wireless on windows 7. In this article you will find how to install huawei modem (ETS2558) drivers of previous version windows (XP) on windows 7. Other user (other modem brand) of PTCL V or windows XP service pack 3 and vista user may get help from there to install their drivers. As we know that win 7 has great support for previous windows applications so software make no problem only driver create a problem. To install the driver follow these steps. 1- Insert CD into CD/ DVD ROM. 2- Cancel auto run of huawei application. 3- Go to start Menu in search bar type "Troubleshooting" and open it from menu. 4- Now click on programs and follow the instruction (Run application in Win XP service pack 2 compatibility mode and follow procedure same as XP). Select not listed…. Select Location of application…. Click on "Try recommended settings" Now click on start the Program… 5-After installizations save compatibility settings. (Windows may warn u that it is not compatible just ignore it). 6-Now go to the Device manager here you will see TUSB3410 DEVICE IN Multiport serial adapters which will be marked with some sign Right click on it and then click on update driver. Now click on brows files from computer and select CD/ DVD ROM in which driver is found. It will scan the CD/ DVD ROM n find and install drivers automatically. 7-Refresh the list of device manager or re-open it. U will see that USB-Serial Port (COM 3) in Ports (COM & LPT) will be marked with sign. Now perform same procedure as in step 6 with it. Now you are ready to use your application. Now open application ptcl v and click on connect it may take 1 to 2 minutes by displaying a message initializing.

Huawei E630 Wireless Modem Gives BSOD After Pluging
I have a problem with Huawei E630 wireless modem. Afert pluging in - PCMCIA type II card - it's starting to install but afert couple seconds it gives BSOD with IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. Also, becouse I think it might come handy, card was working well on XP or Vista 32bit. Oh, and something else, after pluging it install a NEC USB controller - showed in Device Manager - and secondary a Modem.

High Speed Mobile Internet (HSDPA Via USB) Unusable Due To Unreliability
it seems as if (a fully up-to-date) Windows 7 has a massive problem with high-speed mobile Internet connections (3G HSDPA) via modems connected to USB ports - and I really, really need to get this fixed :-) I have two very distinct devices which are affected: * Nokia E71 (a modern HSDPA-capable 3G UMTS mobile phone) - self-powered, connected via USB * (Vodafone) Huawei E172 (a dedicated 3G UMTS mobile broadband USB adapter) - system-powered (laptop), connected via USB Symptoms: After having successfully established an Internet connection, any amount of serious downstream load will result in * stop of downstream TCP/IP * the connection "hanging" (which materializes in TCP/IP disconnects due to timeouts later on) The devices themselves show symptoms similar to a hardware-level USB disconnect - it is extremely puzzling, though, that the TCP/IP stack apparently did not receive any indication of any problems. Trying to cleanly disconnect the TCP/IP connection via the Networking Centre (right-click -> disconnect) will result in a long wait (20-30 seconds?), with the Networking UI hanging partially during this time. Affected system: * Windows 7 (32bit) Enterprise * Lenovo T61 with 4 GB of memory (up-to-date with Lenovo Windows 7 RTM drivers / software / BIOS) Steps necessary to reproduce for me, and two additional people (those on a Lenovo T500 and Windows 7 (64bit), exact system parameters unknown): * fresh install of Windows 7 Enterprise (32 bit) * install latest "Nokia Ovi 2.0" software (ships with modem "drivers" - largely an INF file, I believe) * connect Nokia E71 device * create dial-up connection (providers tested: O2 and Vodafone in Germany) * dial-up * put massive downstream load onto system, e.g. multiple Youtube streams or parallel downloads via a download manager to a source which does deliver (and make sure that your network delivers as well). [To reproduce with the Huawei E172, use the simplest steps to go online, using, e.g. Huawei's Mobile Partner software and/or a Vodafone-branded software both of which will install a USB/Serial-interface into the data card] I cannot stress enough the importance of downstream load - please verify with sustained loads of 300 kiloBYTE/s (KB/s) for extended periods of time (say over the course of 1 GB, although 50 MB volume have sufficed so far to reliably produce the disconnects). A Nokia E61i (which has only UMTS 3G capabilities with 384 kiloBIT/s downstream) seems to do fine. Note: In the locations I perform tests, the 3G UMTS networks deliver sustained data rates (via HSDPA) of up to effective 470 KB/s (7.2 MBit/s cells). As "serious" (as in HSDPA) UMTS coverage in Germany is common, this might have a major impact, e.g. for Windows 7 Netbooks. Finally, please allow me to speculate that any / all *high-speed* data transfer over the USB-Serial-layer is affected by this issue. What worries me most is the misbehaviour of the Nokia E71, which is self-powered and has a "driver" that should be very low in complexity (I can only see usbser_lowerflt.sys as being owned by Nokia) This behaviour of Windows 7 makes this a critical regression for me - a fully patched Windows XP worked flawlessly on that very hardware (laptop / BIOS / USB devices); this specific Huawei E172 additionally is known to work flawlessly on my desktop system, using a fully patched Vista installation. Note: There are additional, independent reports of this issue on the Internet - try searching for reports on (frequent) disconnects in relationship with HSPDA / USB and Huawei / Nokia devices.

Copying Large Files To USB Stick Or USB Hard Disk
I have a problem with Windows 7 RTM and copying to a USB device. All devices are correctly detected by Windows 7. When I start a copy of some small files, normally this works. However, when I want to copy some large files (500 MB - 2 GB), Explorer will "freeze" and after a while Windows becomes unresponsive, I can only do a reset of my machine. THis happsn both on usb sticks or usb harddisks. On Vista, these devices work perfectly. The other way works, so when I want to copy something from an USB device to my pc it works. Also copying between internal harddrives does'nt give an issue.What can be the cause? I tried removing the usb host / hub devices from Windows, so that these would be reïnstalled. I also removed Antivirus software. Further more, I reformated the usb sticks and hard drives without luck.

i have design a policy on win2008 to allow installation of devices classes and have excluded one usb stick. secondary I have "display a customer message" and prevent installation of devices (last entry) both settings are not enabled on windows 7 gpupdate /force - no effect gpedit.msc - Administrative Templates - System - Device Installation - Device Installation Restriction = not settings pc is correct in OU and Domain because other settings are correct stored

USB Stick Keeps Disconnecting
I've got a rather old USB-Stick (512 MB). It's formatted in FAT if I'm not mistaken. On Windows 2000 I don't have any problem with it. But with Windows 7 it wont work: When I connect it to the computer (no matter whether I use an extension cable or connect it directly), I hear the confirmation sound, that it has been connected. But only a few seconds later it automatically gets disconnected. Any idea, what might cause this?

Upgrade Without USB Stick Or DVD
i am reading a lot a from people not upgrading to a new build because they don't have a spare DVD or a 4 Gb USB stick handy. Well you don't need all that. Simply use your favorite mounting tool (i use Magic Disk), mount the image, start the upgrade process. You might see an message about Magic Disk having to be reinstalled, dont worry, and continue. You'll see, upgrade works just fine without wasting DVDs or time coping files to a USB drive.

USB Stick Drive Problem
I have two relatively new computers, both HP, both that are 64 bit machines that were delivered with Vista Home Premium. I have just upgraded both of them to Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit.. I like 7 a lot except for the following problem on both computers. I move files between the two computers using usb stick drives. Sometimes they will read and write the usb drives just fine, but too often the system will not recognize the drives. I get an error message about not recognizing the usb device inserted. This mostly happens after I have copied data from the computer to the drive. If I reboot the computers everything seems to work as it should until I get the same error. When I check the files that were transfered before the recognition failure, they seem to be there. At first, I thought that it was a bad usb drive, but I get the same result with three other drives. I also don't think it is hardware since it would be too big a coincidence for both computers to develop the same hardware problem at the same time - not to mention having three 3 usb drives also to go bad. Why does it work after rebooting? Is there a fix since it is obviously tied to the installation of Windows 7 upgrade over Windows Vista. Is there a fix on the way and how do I work around this. What is different than what I have seen in other posts is that my other usb devices (keyboard and mouse) continue to work.

Burn ISO To USB Memory Stick
I know it's doable. I did it for 7100. I can't seem to do it for 7127 though. Basically, I loaded the ISO in PowerISO. Then I told it to burn it to the USB stick. That's it. Now I can't find out how I did it. I tried a search on here and on Google. Anyone know what I'm talking about? Never mind. It was UltraISO that let me do this.

I know there have been some discussions on this but I found this thread which actually DOES work for getting an XP system to work from a USB. (Not only the install but actually Booting and running). Ngine.de - How to install and run a FULL Windows XP from a USB drive In theory something like this *could* work for Windows 7 --- anybody had a go yet. Note - instead of Disconnecting Hard drives as specified in the link just disable them in the Bios - it's quicker and easier. I know MS says its not possible but people seem to be able to find a way to do amazing things with computers.

Corsair 16GB USB Stick Not Recognized
I have a Sony VGN-FZ320E laptop. I have installed Windows 7 Home Premium. My Corsair 16 GB "Flash Survivor Memory Drive" does not show up as a drive in Windows Explorer. In the Device Manager it shows up under "Disk Drives" as "Corsair UFD USB Device". In Disk Management it shows up as "Disk 1 - Removable - 15.00 GB - Online". If I right-click it there and select Format, Properties, etc. I get an error message that the "Disk Management console view is not up-to-date..." My USB disk drives work fine. Ideas?

Creating Bootable Cd/usb Stick For BIOS Flash
Where is the feature to create a bootable DOS CD or USB stick in order to flash motherboard BIOS/FW or expansion card controller BIOS/FW? Please, I know how to google, what I don't know is why the OS doesn't seem to provide a one-click option to create what's needed for BIOS flashing. I shouldn't have to spend hours and hours to make some bootable CD/USB using any number of 3rd party utilities which may or may not work. DOS is MS legacy, support it since it's still needed. Doesn't matter whether the OS doesn't use that code anymore, clearly a number of critical applications rely on DOS and (gasp!) floppy disks. It's on MS and the manufacturers really, I can already imagine the replies in here saying it's Adaptec's problem that they put out a flash utility that requires DOS to flash their controllers...

Sitecom WL-117 Wireless Lan Usb Stick
Ive been using the beta version of the win7 from umm january. and when i got that sitecom's wlan from my friend i was really disappointed that it didn't work with the beta so ive been using xp for last 1½month. Yesterday I cleaned my hdd from beta version and installed the rc. and i was really really disappointed that the wlan doesn't yet work.. The wlan is special bout that it doesn't require any installation cd bcuz it has the drivers kind of inside it. when in xp ya just plug it in and ding it starts to install automatically the soft + driver. Im now on the xp and I can tell ya the info of the stick soft. Sitecom Wireless LAN Adapter Utility vers. 2.0.0.17 driver vers. 1.146.0705.2004 driver date. 7-5-2004 PS. There is no driver downloadable to this usb wlan.. Thx if ya can help me in anyway

Zyxel USB-Stick Probs With Download Rate
I installed Win7 a week ago and tryed to use it all the time. It worked well for me (better than Vista) except the fact that my downloadspeed was never higher than 1-2 kbyte/s. The Upload worked fine with ~80 kbyte/s (650kbit/s). So updating or other things worked too slow for me and I stopped testing Win7 for the moment. Can anybody tell my why the downloadspeed is too low? [Zyxel Drivers: Vista, couldnt figure out if 32/64, zyxel homepage offers only one driver without any further info]

Siemens Gigaset USB Stick Problem With Wireless Connection
I´ve a problem with with my wlan flash drive. i got a siemens gigaset usb stick 108 (it´s a german name and i don´t know how to translate it correctly, but "usb stick" means "USB flash drive"). the problem is that i haven´t got any drivers. well, i have some, but they only work on windows XP. not even on vista. and i don´t finde any drivers or updates on the internet, because i think my it´s too old. i already bought it years ago and so you find hardly any tools for it. does anybody knows, if there´s a possibility get this thing working by useing windows 7? or do i have to by a wlan card or something?
