View 1 RepliesMy friend had an issue where he recently installed a program, and then went on to uninstall it. He cleaned out all the registry issues and leftover files. However, in his notification tray (Windows 7 Professional), the app icon remains. Not in the actual notification tray, given that the app never does anything. When he goes to the little arrow, and then hits "Customize", the app shows up. Is there any way to get rid of it manually? He's already reinstalled/re-uninstalled the program. Didn't work.

View 1 Replies View RelatedFollowing the latest windows update (possibly a coincidence) I now have two instances of my cd drive showing in the notification area.
These relate to the Vaio power management. I did think that it might be a cache problem so I ran the icon cache clearer found here Notification Area Icons - Reset
But after a reboot they are both back. In the task manager there are two instances of SPMgr.exe
I have a fully updated Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1 and sometimes some icons don't appear in the system tray when I boot up my PC. Then I have to reboot it in order to get them to show up. They are all set to "Show icon and notifications" in the notification are.So why is that happening and how can I solve it so that they would appear every time I boot up my PC?

View 10 Replies View RelatedI have installed Windows 7 Manager from Yamicsoft, I made some changes and its removed the network and icon from my tray?? I didnt choose those option in the program, I have checked and the options to show tray icons is enabled - it is in Windows 7 too, I've also tried enabling the network icon through GPEDIT to no avail - also tried following some advice from microsoft website which involved deleting two reg entrys and reloading explorer.exe - still no joy. The network (wifi) still works. I did make a restore point before I ran W7M but would like to try and fix without restoring.

My Dell Vostro desktop (actually, at my church) is great, runs Windows 7 like a dream. But I have noticed that occasionally (not every time, but enough to be really annoying) a cmd window pops up during login. After entering the user password and before the desktop appears. It is labeled C:dellDBRMReminderTrayApp.exe. There is nothing else in the window. After about 30 seconds, it disappears and the computer boots normally. No other problems.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I want to hide an icon that is showing in my system tray. It's not really necessary to be there, and there is no option to not show it there. This is for a launch manager on a laptop. I've gone to customize and changed it to "hide icons and notifications" for this particular program, but it still shows. is there a way to get rid of this?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a problem that's backwards to most questions that I've seen. I have two windows, say Window A and B. Buttons for both show on my taskbar. In the past, I've been able to toggle between the two by clicking on the taskbar button for the window that is on top. So, if window A is on top, I could click on its taskbar button and that would minimize window A to the taskbar, showing window b. When I wanted to see window A, again, I could click on its taskbar button, and it would again display window A on top of window b.Now, when I click the taskbar button for window a, the window minimizes to the System Tray, instead of the taskbar. The toggle function that I found so handy is broken.

View 9 Replies View RelatedSo I installed RealTemp 3.40 and was exploring the options for it and stumbled accross the System Tray options where it displays the temps for your GPU/Cores on the taskbar next to the Tray. So I put them on there but didn't realize they disappear when you close the program. I could run the program minimized for this but I'd rather not, just another window to cycle through since I use Aero so much.Does anyone know of a way to get these temps to stay on the bar/sys tray without having to run the program minimized?
