Realtek High Definition Audio Driver Problem
i recently installed the windows 7 on my laptop and it worked very good, except for 1 problem, i could not get my Audio Card working. i tried to install the win 7 driver that i downloaded directly from the realtek site but after i install wen i reboot the machine.. it gets stucked on the "starting Windows" page, and don't go any where further... i try made system restore and didn't work either. the only solution was to reinstall the windows 7.. i tried install the older versions of the audio drive to, like the XP version and the vista version but had the same problem. PS: the driver is: Realtek High Definition Audio

IDT High Definition Audio Driver Crashes Win 7
I installed Win 7 and kept the default audio driver for several months with no problems. Yesterday I checked Windows update for optional updates and saw one for IDT High definition audio. After installing and rebooting, my system became useless with 100% processor usage and no audio at all. It took about 15 minutes for the computer to catch up with me so I could roll back the driver. This is the update info: IDT - Audio - IDT High Definition Audio CODEC Installation date: ‎3/‎19/‎2009 7:16 AM Installation status: Successful Update type: Optional IDT Audio software update released in September, 2008 More information: http://winqual.microsoft.com/support/?driverid=20215950 Help and Support: http://support.microsoft.com/select/?target=hub I rolled back to the default windows driver which is "High definition audio device" version 6.1.7000.0 and dated 12/12/08. This fixed the problem. Did anybody else have a problem like this or was it just me?

HP Pavilion Dv8220ca / Conexant High Definition Audio
I have a (3 yr.) HP Pavilion dv8220ca Laptop. Looking for a driver that will be compatible with Windows 7. My friend bought the new OS for his exact same lappy (without too much concern about updating) and said that he cannot found a sound driver that will work. I want to upgrade to Windows 7 and have been looking for a driver to fix his issue, so I can fix mine. I can't find the exact sound card, the normal driver set is a Conexant AC-Link Audio Driver. If anyone knows of a work around or a universal driver compatible with Windows 7 please let me know. So far I have tried the Conexant High Definition Audio 4.8.0.0 and I only received an ERROR.

SigmaTel High Definition Audio Codec For Sony Vaio VGC-RC110G
I have a Sony Vaio VGC-RC110G and installed Windows 7 RC 32 bit and it went smoothly 'cept for 2 missing drivers. The main one is the sound device as it is NOT being read. I can't get any sound. I spent several hours on the net looking for a compatiable driver, and alot of people ran into trouble with the SigmaTel High Definition Audio Codec when they upgraded to Vista. Tested a bunch of drivers (from Sony site and even updated sound drivers from Dell) and none worked. Even downloaded some program called detective driver to help me find compatiable driver but I'd have to pay $30 to activate the program. I would but Im afraid it might not find it.

High Definition Export To Tape
Exporting video to tape in Windows 7 RC only works for Standard definition (DV) videos. The firewire-port is open. If I export (HDV) high definition videos to tape the firewire port stay closed so no HDV is exported to tape. The taperecorder starts but no movie is recorded. On VISTA everything works(same pc-other partion)! (HDV/DV taperecorder Sony HVR-M25AP connected with a firewire cable to pc and recognised in windows7 rc) I think it's a driver problem (avcstrm.sys or/and mstape.sys). How can I replace these drivers to the "original" from the Win7 RC dvd to test that?

Have Realtek High Definition Sound But No Hdmi Output
I've upgraded from vista to 7 and I am getting no sound, I've searched, searched and tried alot of different things, I see alot of people on this forum with the same issues, but I've tried most of them. I've installed and unistalled all the different drivers from realtek, but no luck. I have realtek high definition sound but no hdmi output. In my device manager it says the sound driver is installed properly, but when I tried to test the sound it fails to test tone, I don't know if it has to deal with an audio codec. I have regular speaker that connect to a sound jack. At this point I am quite desperate. I've spent all night trying to figure this out.

All the old links to drivers in the older thread are gone now.

HP Dv8000 Notebook Sound Problem
My HP Notebook dv8000 is missing sound when I do a clean install with Windows 7. Is there anyway to force Windows 7 to use the same sound driver that was there for Vista, which I did get to work? Device manager shows a Microsoft High Definition Audio Device, but I believe HP used another manufacturer for the device. I've tried uninstalling / reinstalling drivers, and get the same result.

Definition Update For Windows Defender Malfunctions USB Ports
When ever my computer installs definition update for windows defender (1.71.833.0) my usb ports malfunction. I have to do a system restore to bring my computer back to a working state. This wouldn't be a problem if that update didn't install itself every 1-2 days. I disabled Defender itself to try to stop the update but to no avail. I am not sure what is happening. I have honestly never heard of something like this. I run Windows 7 64-bit in a more than capable computer. 2.6 ghz AMD Phenom (Quad-core), 9800gt EVGA video card, 4 gigs of ram. MSI motherboard. I am not sure what to do.
