HP Pavillion Dv9000 Overheating
I have been using Windows 7 RC 32-bit from the time it was released. I had no issue with the bits. But as soon as I installed the RTM, this time, with 64-bit, my laptop is heating up so soon and fast. The fan is going full-speed but it cannot keep up with the heat. Now it is shutting down at random. Have you had any reports having similar problems like mine? Is there a solution for this?
I hate to go back to 32-bit.

Upgrade From Vista On HP Pavillion PC Dv9000 - Crashes
I've upgraded my HP pavillion dv9000 from Vista to Win 7 Home Premium.  The upgrade appeared to go smoothly, however I now have a number of problems. The first is that it crashes mutiple times per day, usually when no one has been at the machine for hours, I return to find it shut down, when I boot it, it nicely tells me it crashed and asks if it should search for a solution, but never finds anything. The second is that I frequently loose connectivity to other machines and NAS devices on my network. When I reboot, I can access both NAS devices and my other PC on the network, at some point along the way, I can no longer access the other PC or one of the two NAS devices (always the same NAS device.) In the Windows Explorer, I can see the other PC and both NAS devices, but when I try to open them, it hangs.  The other PC can still see both NAS devices as can other devices on my network.Lastly, I can see the printer that is shared from my other PC, but when I send something to the printer, it appears to send correctly, and if look at the printer from the control panel, it tells me it sent a page, but if I open the window for the printer, it shows no documents. Suspect this one is a driver error and couldn't find any win7 drivers for the HP OfficeJet G85. Couldn't find any new win7 drivers for the HP9000 anywhere on the HP site, but I did run the win7 upgrade advisor which said everything would be fine. I was really hoping win 7 was going to get me past 2 years of frustration with vista. Any help would be greatly appreciated before I wipe the machine clean and break out my XP install disks. Â

Laptop Overheating
I bought my Lenovo Y510 only about a couple months ago. I was forced to buy it with Windows Vista, which I did not want to do. Now, I've upgraded my laptop from Windows Vista Home Premium to Windows 7 Professional. I had to backup all my data and reinstall fresh. Ever since I installed Windows 7 my laptop has been running extremely hot. My fan is running harder than it ever has. Also, Windows 7 keeps telling me that I should "consider replacing my battery", which is ridiculous because everything worked fine until I installed Windows 7 Professional. My fan isn't dirty, I've tried adjusting power settings, there's no downloadable packages/drivers on the Lenovo website. I'm running an Intel Core Duo CPU 32-bit. Oh and also Flash video makes my computer run hard and sometimes crashes it. This didn't happen on my Vista Home Premium.

Win 7 Overheating HP Laptop
I have a problem with my HP TX2510US 2.1GHz AMD Turion X2 Ultra Dual-Core Notebook ever since loading Windows7. I LOVE the new software, but have found that it is causing my laptop to run very hot and if I am doing anything major on it I risk it overheating and turning off. I have read some blogs about this, but have yet to find anything that would help me to fix this problem. Can anyone give me any pointers on how to fix this? I am computer literate, but may need a little extra guidance if it involves going into BIOS settings, etc. I really miss my laptop.

Qosmio Laptop Overheating
I have a Qosmio G15-AV105 and since it has 2 HDD's i set it up to dual boot winXP on one drive and win7 on the other. as soon as Win7 finished loading the issue presented itself the cooling fans were dead quiet and not pushing the air enough to cool the system so it locked up. Is there any way other than the CPU performance setting under the power scheme to adjust the cooling method. under XP the system works flawlessly and the system remains cool to the touch even under heavy load.

Video Card Overheating Problems
I have recently upgraded to Windows 7 RC1 on my main machine. When playing pc video games, specifically Left 4 Dead, the game will freeze at randoms parts. After doing alot of different fixes the main resolution was to set my video cards fan to 100% speed. Keep in mind the game ran perfectly fine with the same settings in Vista and fan running at normal speeds. So I am assuming this is a Windows 7 problem. Two other people also had this same problem. I have an ATI, the other guy has an ATI, and the third guy has a Nvidia graphics card. So its 2 ATI and 1 nvidia.

HP Pavilion Dv9000 Laptop Driver For Base System Device
I just installed Windows 7 Beta on my HP Pavilion Dv9000 laptop and everything is working really well, but in device manager I have 2 items listed under Other Devices that say Base Sytem Device. I am assuming I need some kind of driver for them, but I am not sure how to tell what they are or what driver they will need. How do I figure this out? If I get the properties of these devices under the general tab I see Device type: Other device, Manufacturer: Unknown, and Location: PCI bus 9, device 9, function 3.

Otherwise the sound works good for youtube, etc. Don't recall making any changes to my settings that may have caused this.

No Sound HP Pavillion DV1000
The volume icon on the taskbar reads "No Audio Output Device is Installed". No sound whatsoever not even out of the headphone jack. HP does not make a driver update. They told me my computer is too slow to run Windows 7. Funny, because I'm running 7 as I type this! Works great, other than this issue. If there isn't a driver, I can of course get a USB or Express card sound card, right?

Hp Pavillion Dv5000 Problems
So I just installed windows 7 recently on my sisters HP pavillion dv5000 There are a number of problems. First the keyboard is wack. After I type a few words it'll jump to a middle of a sentence before or 2 words before and start from there as I type. like I'll write hey how are you and it goes between h and ow and starts the cursor all the way over there or it'll be gone and start no where. and it'll go to the post button or something. Another issue but not as big is the fact that there is a mute button if you are familiar with the HP pavillion DV5000 and when you press it the light goes on, if you turn on the mute. This always happens. It happened when I still use windows XP, now that I changed it to windows 7 however it no longer works. If I press mute or even if I don't the button is not turned on. Any one can help? ESPECIALLY with the wacky keyboard situation. I can't type anything without it going back midway and start to type out of the wrong section of it. Sound Issue: whenever I hibernate then restore windows the sound is gone! I cannot get it back unless I restart my PC.

HP Pavillion 751 Issues
I have an old HP Pavillion 751 desktop with a P4 2Ghz. I put a new AGP vid card in and loaded Windows 7 32bit. The OS loaded fine, but the system will not boot at all. It's just a reboot loop. I cannot get Windows 7 to even display on the screen for half second to press F8. I tried doing a startup repair also, but it will not boot. I then tried to load Vista...same exact result. I had XP running fine on here. The HD and RAM are good, no issues there. What is the reason this system will not run with either Vista or 7, even with a brand new 'aero' compatible video card?

HP Pavillion DV9500t ACPI HPQ0006
I just did an upgrade-in-place on my HP Pavillion dv9500t (Vista business to &7 professional). During the compatibility check than ran prior to the actual upgrade the install program identified the AVWPONXZ IDE Controller as potentially being incompatible with Windows 7.  After the install My Device Manager shows an Unknown Device which, according to the Hardware ID in the properties tab, is an ACPIHPQ0006. I do not know if these two messages are related to the same issue, but I kind of doubt it. Anyone know how I can get rid of the unknown device flag? Which driver do I need? PC seems to work fine so far except that my smartphone is not recognized by the Windows Mobile Device Center.

HP Pavillion, Performance Lower Than Vista
a few days ago, I formatted my HP pavillion dv6870ej laptop (core 2 duo 2.8, 3GB, SATA 320GB drive, Nvidia 8400M) it came with vista and performance was really good. I installed win 7 rc (I need it to be a legit copy, and the 1-year evaluation offer wins my attention) I updated all drivers and ran a radersync.. I was expecting a slimmer, faster OS. but Win 7, while acceptable still feels a little behind vista, most notable is the application launch time, office 2007 word or excel takes about twice the time to launch on Windows 7 than on vista. GUI also feels a little bit slow, while still responsive it does not have the screaming fast feeling I had with vista. my WEI scores are 5.1 - 5.8 in all categories, except for display , aero graphics is 2.2 (!!!), and gaming graphics is 5.1 could any of you point me to what could be wrong ? what can't I see the performance boost and why is it slower than vista ?

HP Pavillion With NVIDIA 7150M Issues
I just did a clean install of Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit on my HP Pavillion dv6812nr and after which, my graphic card isn't being recognized. The OS recognizes the graphics and a "non-PnP graphic card" not my NVIDIA. When I checked the Device Manager some of my drivers weren't recognized, hence I tried updating then. Now my OS can see NVIDIA, but still does not use it as the graphic card. Now my screen looks crappy and can't use the AERO feature.

If I try to close the window, program says that if I stop the program, I may not be able to use the laptop anymore! What should I do? The problem may lie on the Internet connection, which may have been interrupted for a while during a process.
