HP Pavillion DV9500t ACPI HPQ0006

I just did an upgrade-in-place on my HP Pavillion dv9500t (Vista business to &7 professional).  During the compatibility check than ran prior to the actual upgrade the install program identified the AVWPONXZ IDE Controller as potentially being incompatible with Windows 7.  After the install My Device Manager shows an Unknown Device which, according to the Hardware ID in the properties tab, is an ACPIHPQ0006. I do not know if these two messages are related to the same issue, but I kind of doubt it.

Anyone know how I can get rid of the unknown device flag? Which driver do I need?  PC seems to work fine so far except that my smartphone is not recognized by the Windows Mobile Device Center.

Win7 On HP Pavilion Dv9500t
It seems that HP, in their dubious wisdom, has decided not to provide driver support for the entire dv9xxx series of portables.  The PC seems extremely capable so I'd like to keep it and upgrade to Windows 7.  Has anyone got this combination working?  If so, can you provide a source for the drivers?

This computer is not compliant with the Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) standard. Windows must be installed onto a computer that supports ACPI. Contact your computer manufacturer for a BIOS update or install Windows on an ACPI-compliant computer.

Win7 Setup ACPI Not Compatible?
I just burnt my Windows 7 install .iso to a DVD and rebooted my computer ready for the installation. I wait for the windows files to load, then when the bar is full, the screen goes to a blue screen with this message:

"...The BIOS in this system is not fully ACPI compliant. Please contact your system vendor for an updated BIOS.

Technical information:

*** STOP: 0x0000000A5 (0x0000000000001000, 0x0000000000000000, 0x00000000FFFFFFFF, 0x0000000000002040)"

Please help me sort this out, I have a fairly new computer that has been running XP SP3 without error thus far, and I am very keen to make the leap to Windows 7.

Cannot Install Win 7 RC Because Of ACPI Error Message
I have been trying to install Windows 7RC for several days now but with no luck. The compatibility test came up fine after a few changes. Then after trying to install, after about 1 minute into the actual install process, I get an error message that tells me that my computer is not compatible with ACPI Standards.

This simply is just not true as all those standards are available on the computer. But, just in case, I flashed the BIOS with a newer one and I still get the same problem. I'm about ready to give up on this product and just stick with XP.

HP Dv3 Notebook - Unknown Device - Value = ACPI HPQ004
Code 28 (not installed). That makes sense.

"Location: on PCI bus"

"No conflicts" and always turns up in a hardware PnP scan after deleting it.

Update driver does nothing (not surprised).

IRQ=23 (0x17).

Device value=ACPIHPQ004 smells like ACPI but my Power Management is working perfectly.

Yes, I tried googling.

HP support site is not yet aware of Windows 7.

Any ideas for experimenting? I am a software developer by profession and a hardware installer for fun. So, wild experimental ideas are most welcome.

Why Does Win 7 Release Candidate Installation Fail With A BSOD Acpi Error ?
Why does Win7 release candidate installation fail with a BSOD acpi error? This is a machine that I successfully installed Win7 Beta on.  I tried to download and reburn a new iso, but that gave me exactly the same issue.

ACPI Battery Driver Is Producing Large DPC Latency Spikes
This is an ongoing problem from Vista, W7 seems to use the same driver as Vista as well. I use my computer for music production and the high DPC latency spikes cause a lot of interference in the smooth playback and recording of audio. I have traced it down to the ACPI battery compliant driver and with this disabled DPC latency is low enough for glitch free recording and playback of audio.

But obviously having this driver off gives you no feedback as to the state of the battery and causes the laptop to just power down with no warning when the battery is empty. Now W7 is a bit better with DPC latency than Vista but still for a lot of people unusable with this driver on, which sort of defeats the object of having a mobile pc . Would it be possible to some how install the ACPI drivers in XP on a W7 machine? Or is there some other way of working with the W7 driver to eliminate the high DPC latency.

HP Pavillion Dv9000 Overheating
I have been using Windows 7 RC 32-bit from the time it was released. I had no issue with the bits. But as soon as I installed the RTM, this time, with 64-bit, my laptop is heating up so soon and fast. The fan is going full-speed but it cannot keep up with the heat. Now it is shutting down at random. Have you had any reports having similar problems like mine? Is there a solution for this?

I hate to go back to 32-bit.

Install On HP PAVILLION LAPTOPS
10 days before i purchase a new hp laptop with core 2 duo processor, 4 gb ram, 512 mb video card , 320 gb har disk  with windows 7 by default installed in it. but i also want windows xp in ma system for my work. because some softwares are not compatible with windows 7 like .net,oracle etc. so i have to use xp also.

but when i called hp technical center they tell me that there is no option or no way to install xp on hp laptops because their hardware does nt support xp, and they said me that if i forcibly try to install xp then might be hardware will corrupt. then i se this virtual pc concept. here as one tool is given on Microsoft site to check that whether our pc supports virtualization or not .

and then i download tht tool and instaall it. it gives error " YOUR HARDWARE OR PROCESSOR DOES NOT SUPPORT HARDWARE VIRTUALIZATION " something like that. how to install this virtual pc if i havng problem like that? i also go to bios option to enable the hardware virtualization but there i see there is no such option of enabling and disabling.

HP Pavillion Microphone Problem
Suddenly my microphone stopped working for both messenger and skype applications. I have an HP Pavillion Entertainment PC. Lots of other folks have the same complaint but no solutions can be found. Using Vista and Explorer 8 for a long time now and everything worked fine. In addition when using skype and messenger there is no sound so now i cant hear the other person. Otherwise the sound works good for youtube, etc. Don't recall making any changes to my settings that may have caused this.

No Sound HP Pavillion DV1000
The volume icon on the taskbar reads "No Audio Output Device is Installed". No sound whatsoever not even out of the headphone jack. HP does not make a driver update. They told me my computer is too slow to run Windows 7. Funny, because I'm running 7 as I type this! Works great, other than this issue.

If there isn't a driver, I can of course get a USB or Express card sound card, right?

Hp Pavillion Dv5000 Problems
So I just installed windows 7 recently on my sisters HP pavillion dv5000

There are a number of problems. First the keyboard is wack. After I type a few words it'll jump to a middle of a sentence before or 2 words before and start from there as I type. like I'll write hey how are you and it goes between h and ow and starts the cursor all the way over there or it'll be gone and start no where. and it'll go to the post button or something.

Another issue but not as big is the fact that there is a mute button if you are familiar with the HP pavillion DV5000 and when you press it the light goes on, if you turn on the mute. This always happens. It happened when I still use windows XP, now that I changed it to windows 7 however it no longer works. If I press mute or even if I don't the button is not turned on.

Any one can help? ESPECIALLY with the wacky keyboard situation. I can't type anything without it going back midway and start to type out of the wrong section of it.

Sound Issue: whenever I hibernate then restore windows the sound is gone! I cannot get it back unless I restart my PC.

HP Pavillion 751 Issues
I have an old HP Pavillion 751 desktop with a P4 2Ghz. I put a new AGP vid card in and loaded Windows 7 32bit. The OS loaded fine, but the system will not boot at all. It's just a reboot loop. I cannot get Windows 7 to even display on the screen for half second to press F8. I tried doing a startup repair also, but it will not boot. I then tried to load Vista...same exact result. I had XP running fine on here. The HD and RAM are good, no issues there. What is the reason this system will not run with either Vista or 7, even with a brand new 'aero' compatible video card?

Upgrade On HP Pavillion M9000
I installed the Windows 7 RC as an upgrade to my Vista Home Premium. I have an HP Pavillion M9000.  The installation went with no problems. When I log in Win 7 starts normally, you see the desktop as it loads the icons, the log in screen for gmail shows, then a blue screen appears, but so quickly you can't see what it says. Then the computer reboots. I start the computer in safe mode with networking and everything starts fine. Where should I start looking for what is causing the problem?

HP Pavillion, Performance Lower Than Vista
a few days ago, I formatted my HP pavillion dv6870ej laptop (core 2 duo 2.8, 3GB, SATA 320GB drive, Nvidia 8400M)

it came with vista and performance was really good.

I installed win 7 rc (I need it to be a legit copy, and the 1-year evaluation offer wins my attention)

I updated all drivers and ran a radersync..

I was expecting a slimmer, faster OS.

but Win 7, while acceptable still feels a little behind vista, most notable is the application launch time, office 2007 word or excel takes about twice the time to launch on Windows 7 than on vista.

GUI also feels a little bit slow, while still responsive it does not have the screaming fast feeling I had with vista.

my WEI scores are 5.1 - 5.8 in all categories, except for display , aero graphics is 2.2 (!!!), and gaming graphics is 5.1

could any of you point me to what could be wrong ? what can't I see the performance boost and why is it slower than vista ?

HP Pavillion With NVIDIA 7150M Issues
I just did a clean install of Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit on my HP Pavillion dv6812nr and after which, my graphic card isn't being recognized. The OS recognizes the graphics and a "non-PnP graphic card" not my NVIDIA.

When I checked the Device Manager some of my drivers weren't recognized, hence I tried updating then. Now my OS can see NVIDIA, but still does not use it as the graphic card. Now my screen looks crappy and can't use the AERO feature.

Hp Pavillion Dv7 2123eo Issue
Hp Pavillion dv7 2123eo and upgrade to Windows 7 from Vista Home premium 64b. I have tried to upgrade Windows 7 with CDs sent by MS to my brand new PC. It started well, but then the program got stuck (now more than 20 hours) in phase 2. It has done about 3/4from the phase2.

If I try to close the window, program says that if I stop the program, I may not be able to use the laptop anymore! What should I do? The problem may lie on the Internet connection, which may have been interrupted for a while during a process.
