HP Pavilion - No Keyboard Or Touchpad Response

I just downloaded and installed Windows Live to my fresh install of Windows 7.  Prior to that I might add, everything was working fine.

After having installed Live, the keyboard and touchpad cease to function at all. The only method of recovery is to hold the power switch to kill the computer.

Any ideas?

Slow Keyboard Response After Using System For A Few Hours
Ive been working with Windows 7 for a while now, everything seems to be going smoothly, except for one major problem, after having the system on for a while the Keyboard suddenly starts to respond slow, or hang up the mouse while typing, you can especialy notice it while gaming or when typing, like when i hit backspace,

it keeps going on for a while even after you release the key, or if u hold down a letter it keeps going on for like 2 seconds after you release the key.. At first i tought this was a problem with my keyboard, so i purchased another one and tried it, but no luck! is there anyway to fix this issue?

Keyboard is connected to an PS/2 Port. Running on Windows 7 RC1 64 Bits, After a reboot it works again for a bit.

Touchpad/ Keyboard Freezing
Monday afternoon I turned my computer on and noticed that every two minutes or so the computer would freeze up for up to 15 seconds, after which I had another one-two minutes of uninterrupted use and then it would freeze again.

The Computer Dell Inspirion Laptop E1705/9400 Windows 7 and Windows xp 40gb and 120gb HDD 1gb ram Dual core (centrino?)cpu need more info? ask.

(only on Windows 7)I'd done two major things in the past week and neither one of them could have had caused this because there'd been so much time in between. The first was I networked a couple folders on my hard drive so they were accessible on the rest of my home network (on Friday). Second I'd installed GIMP on my computer (Saturday night).

(only on Windows 7)I did a restore point from about a week ago, still had the same problem, then I tried uninstalling GIMP and turning off file sharing, still nada.

I thought maybe it was a software problem and because I had a website due in a couple hours I thought I'd swap out the Windows 7 hard drive which I was using and instead use a hard drive with Xp, Oddly enough all the problems I've mentioned up to now and the problems I'll mention persisted on both platforms (unless otherwise stated), also note I hadn't used Xp in months (about 3 months ago was the last time I'd used it in a computer.)

After messing around some more I noticed that my touch pad wasn't working at all (I'd been using a external wireless mouse until then) The drivers somehow uninstalled themselves and pretended to not work when I reinstalled them.

The only thing that kinda worked was booting in safe mode, then the courser would freeze but not anything else. When you look at this with the fact that the touch-pad doesn't work and the problem persists cross-platform, it begins to look like a BIOS or hardware problem, not a software thing.

Other Weird Phenomenon

(only on Windows 7) Stumble Upon doesn't show up in the toolbar even when it's enabled and checked off as supposed to be there, in Firefox.[this one is just weird... it could be that I updated it and didn't realize and it's not playing nice with some other add-on, I'll look into that.) On screen keyboard also wont work in safe mode while courser is frozen (but mouse isn't). When I access files through file sharing from a different computer they are also subject to freezing, meaning that if I have a HTML file open in notepad ++ ( that's on the laptop) every two minutes or so it'll freeze up for 10-15 seconds.

Keyboard / Touchpad Issue
Problem: After being in ubuntu and rebooting into windows 7 all is fine in windows until I touch the touchpad.  If I touch the touchpad at all, I am not able to type anything at all in windows. If I boot in, and just use the usb mouse, that's ok it always works fine, and the typing is fine...until I touch the touchpad!    If I reboot a 2nd time then everything is normal. This is a fresh install on windows 7 with ubuntu 9.04. Anybody have any clue at all why this is happening??

Keyboard And Touchpad Not Working
I just installed windows 7 ultimate on my daughters, acer aspire 3050 laptop. It was running vista home basic before. The vista install was damaged by viruses, so I decided to upgrade her to 7. All the hardware was recognized, but for some reason the keyboard does not work, it was working fine with the virus riddled vista install. For some strange reason the windows key does bring up the start menu, but none of the other keys seem to do anything.

They all work in the BIOS just fine. Also the touch pad does work, but the cursor movement is very jerky, and it was also fine in vista. I went to acer's site, they don't have any windows 7 drivers available for this model, or any vista drivers for the keyboard, I installed the vista touch pad drivers, but they did not seem to help. I also messed with the keyboard settings in control panel, but nothing seems to help. Does anyone have any ideas, on what I need to do to fix this. I have been really pleased with 7 on my other computers, and would hate to have to go back to vista.

Keyboard And Touchpad Unresponsive
So last week I received my brand new HP Envy 15, with a Core i5 540m (2.5-3.3ghz) Ati Radeon 5830, 4gigs of DDR3 ram, and a 500gb HDD. (Of course running Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit.) And everything was running awesomely- Until yesterday when I went to turn it on and when it got to the login screen everything on screen was gigantic, and my keyboard and touchpad were unresponsive.

I tried using a usb keyboard and still no luck. Booting into safemode yields the same results, even without networking. Yet when booted it up disabling driver signature enforcement, it worked fine, except everything was slow and my sound didn't work. Is there any way I can boot up regularly again and get my sound working?

Updates Disable Keyboard / Touchpad
I have a Dell XPS M1530 laptop. I upgraded to Windows 7 without a problem. It immediately downloaded important updates, rebooted and then keyboard & touchpad didn't work. A USB mouse did work. I checked the Device manager and both were working properly according to it. There had been no driver updates, so there was nothing to rollback to. I restored the computer to a point before the updates and everything worked fine again. Right now I have updates turned off. Any suggestions?

Microsoft Desktop Keyboard 8000 Touchpad Not Working
I recently got a Microsoft Desktop 8000 keyboard and mouse and everything seems to be working except the touchpad on the keyboard. I believe that it is on the top right hand side of the keyboard. It does not seem to matter whether I have the sliding switch above it set to pointer or 4 way, the pad does not recognize touch or pressure.

I cannot get any pointer movement out of it at all! The other side does control the mouse buttons but that is it. I am running Microsoft XP on a netbook and I was hoping that someone would be able to help me with this problem.

Epson TX111 Has Very Slow Response
I've used Window Vista for a short time before changing to Windows 7 64-bits by upgrading it from Vista. After I've upgrade to Windows 7, all programs seem working well without any problem. (I've tried downloaded the driver for Windows 64 bits and upgrade/update everything I can like Windows 7 or the latest printer driver)

But when I try to print any document from any program or browser, it take very long time (around 10-30 minutes) before the printer start to print .

And before the printing if I try to adjust any option via printer properties in the printing screen of any program, it take a long time (more than 3 minutes) and most of the time it has 'NO RESPONDING' in the program and I cannot do anything with it (but if I wait for a long time, it will show up like nothing wrong).

I've tried using notebook with Windows 7 32-bits, but it has NO problem at all.

I've ask EPSON in my country and they only prove that it works fine with Windows 7 64-bits (and send the document for me). But my problem still exists and I have no idea how can I find out the cause or fixing it.

Anyone has some suggestions for me?

Slow Response Running XP Mode Programs
I am running a legacy program in XP Mode (Adobe Pagemaker 7.0). When I need to save a document, usually to a Windows 7 drive, it takes a very long time to do so - unless I move the mouse pointer within the window. I know this sounds strange but I've confirmed this behavior many times.

I'm guessing that moving the mouse generates an IRQ which temporarily gives the XP mode process higher priority. If it is a large file which takes longer to save, I can observe the save process speed way up when moving the mouse and slow way down when I stop.

Is there some setting somewhere to speed up the process without the mouse movement - my hand is getting tired.

System Response Very Sluggish, Hard Drive Thrashing
After running Windows 7 RC 64-bit for approximately 2 weeks with no issues, I've started running into issues this week with it occasionally becoming very sluggish for extended periods of time. The culprit seems to be that mscorsvw.exe*32 (.Net Runtime Optimization Service) is thrashing the hard drive and chewing up large chunks of memory (up to 1.5Gb of my 4Gb),

though CPU utilization remains low. It starts before I log in and by the time I can get Task Manager fired up after login it's already bringing my system to a crawl. If I stop the process then system performance quickly returns to normal. Both the x86 and 64-bit versions of these services are set to Manual startup.

Only references to mscorsvw.exe I could find indicated that it occasionally will fire up for 5-10 mins to precompile high priority .Net assemblies then would drop to compiling remaining assembliies during system idle windows. Even during the high priority compiles the service is supposed to be running as a low priority service and should allow user initiated requests to take priority. That appears not to be happening, and the service continues to run for much longer than 5-10 mins.

I haven't installed any new software just prior to the update that I can recall and Windows Update history shows no new installs since June 24th, well before the problem presented itself.

Support URL Protocols In Search Connector Response Feeds
I'd like to ask for an enhancement to the Windows Federated Search feature in Windows 7. I'm not sure where the best place to submit such a request.I have been playing around with building search connectors for a few weeks now. This is a very cool feature of Windows 7 explorer and the file-dialogs.

I find it most useful in searching for files on remote repository systems that can return feeds since I can then download and open the files from within explorer or through the open-file-dialog.

Of course, saving content back to the server is not allowed which is understandable since that would require a more sophisticated APP or REST functions. Also, the IOpenSearchSource interface (not yet documented enough to be useful) promises more flexibility by allowing you write code to search anything you want and just return RSS.

Because you can only open files in the temp directory using the enclosure-link, I would like to ask Microsoft to consider supporting alternate url protocols in the enclosure-link or some other link that we could include in the RSS response.

For example, it would be great to include "ftp://" or "notes://" or even "myurl://" in the feed response to have the URL protocol handler invoked for that file. I think it may have to be a new special link since I would want the normal enclosure-download if invoked in the file-dialog.

Period Keyboard Lockups / Toshiba Satellite M40 Keyboard
Toshiba PSM30 Satellite Laptop
1.25Gb Ram
Centrino 1.5Ghz

when using windows 7 on this laptop periodically the keyboard input will freeze - it will freeze for up to two seconds after which the keypresses will "catch up".

Ive hunted around for a solution to this and only managed to find a issue for some installs upgrading form winxp...

The sugestion here http://www.watchingthenet.com/windows-vista-tip-how-to-fix-slow-keyboard-response-after-upgrade-from-windows-xp.html

suggests adding a new regrsitry key which I have done and it has made ZERO difference (its not made it any worse either)

At the moment this is making this laptop pretty unusable in that it locks out keyboard input about once every 30 seconds....

Note that this lockout is not tied to any particular program (it even happens in notepad with no other programs running).

Ive preorded win7 for this laptop prior to installing the RC, and I am now starting to worry i may not be able to use it on this laptop.

if i keep the cpu gadet running "always on top" I can see that when the keyboard input is getting buffered its not the case that the CPU is maxed out at 100% in face i can see it happening when the cpu is running at less than 20 percent.

Dunno if this is a driver issue or an issue with my particular hardware setup. This is not the newest laptop but its not the oldest either, and apart from this win7 runs at an ok rate. Memory utilisation is around 45%.

Very occasionally when typing it seems that windows will issue an alert sound when the keyboard locks out but its not every time and there is no alert message associated with the sound - all in all its hugely frustrating.

Keyboard Input Causes Audio Skipping, No Keyboard Repeat
I'm having a strange issue with Windows 7, involving keyboard input and audio playback. I find that when I'm typing something (like this message, or anything else) and listening to music through any media player, the audio output skips as I type. There doesn't seem to be a real pattern to it, but it is definitely noticeable skipping only when I'm typing.

I also noticed that if I try to use a repeating key function, such as holding down the backspace key, the audio output stops completely, and the key does not repeat; the cursor just hangs until I let go of the key, at which point the music starts playing again too. Is anyone else having this issue?

Only the standard English layouts work. In all Linux version this has been working so far -- however why not in Win7?

Beside that Win7 seems quiet nice.

TouchPad On Scrolling
On Window Vista I could just touch my mouse touch pad and pull my finger down and the it would scroll through a web page or in my pictures and etc.. and it would go down.  I was not double clicking, I could rub my finger on the touch pad and go horizontal.  On Windows 7, I notice I could not do this and I was wondering does anyone know how to activate this feature.

I was not double clicking at all adn on Vista I do not remember messing with any functions to get this to work..
