HP Pavilion Zd8000 Sound Problem
I have tried every guide and tip on the Internet to try and get my stupid speakers to work on my laptop. I installed Windows 7 Ultimate x64 and have everything working on it except for the sound. I have no sound what so ever and when ever I try to click on the little speaker on the bottom right corner, a window pops up talking about troubleshooting. I am at my wits end with this stupid machine. Please help. Any solutions?

HP Pavilion A6150e Sound Problem
I just upgraded from Vista on my HP Pavilion a6150e desktop. Everything works well except sound. I've been reading threads and trying several things, including: 1. Updating driver 2. Deleting driver and letting Windows 7 configure 3. Visiting RealTek and trying downloads (refers me to HP) 4. Visiting HP (nothing found there) Device manager states everything is working in sound. However, there is no multimedia audio controller driver, and Windows 7 can't find one. I don't know if this is related to the other.

Hp Pavillion Dv5000 Problems
So I just installed windows 7 recently on my sisters HP pavillion dv5000 There are a number of problems. First the keyboard is wack. After I type a few words it'll jump to a middle of a sentence before or 2 words before and start from there as I type. like I'll write hey how are you and it goes between h and ow and starts the cursor all the way over there or it'll be gone and start no where. and it'll go to the post button or something. Another issue but not as big is the fact that there is a mute button if you are familiar with the HP pavillion DV5000 and when you press it the light goes on, if you turn on the mute. This always happens. It happened when I still use windows XP, now that I changed it to windows 7 however it no longer works. If I press mute or even if I don't the button is not turned on. Any one can help? ESPECIALLY with the wacky keyboard situation. I can't type anything without it going back midway and start to type out of the wrong section of it. Sound Issue: whenever I hibernate then restore windows the sound is gone! I cannot get it back unless I restart my PC.

Cannot Find Creative Sound Blaster Xtreme Audio Sound Card
My fairly new PC: Core2Quad Q6700 on ASUS P5K (Intel P35) with RealTek HD Audio chip, plus Creative Soundblaster Xtreme Audio internal sound card. I've installed Windows 7RC on a new partition on my HD alongside Vista Ultimate. I've experienced no installation problem, but Win7RC does not recognize my SB sound card at all! So, I can't even update the driver! It recognized the Realtek chip and my external USB mic, but not the sound card that had been installed for audio quality!! To come to think of it, I've had the problem with Vista, with my Dragon Naturally Speaking Pro 10.1 not recognizing the "existence of any sound system" in an administrator account I used to install the software. However, the software recognizes all my audio systems in my other user account (admin) and the software runs smoothly!! Any connection? What's the problem here? Anyone have any idea? Edit: I also found that the stereo mix feature of the Realtek HD audio isn't recognized either. (Recognized in Vista and my old XP)

Sound Blaster Audigy PCI Card Sound Problem
I installed windows 7 home premium today on my computer on a dedicated hard disk. All went fine and did windows updates to all my driver issues. At this point I had sound. I then installed ubuntu 9.10 on a separate physical disk without issue. Ubuntu installed a boot loader (Grub) which recognised windows 7 and I could boot into both OSes (dual boot), both working happily (including sound). I then installed some apps in ubuntu (incl. wine) and now when I boot into windows 7, I don't have any sound. The sound icon is happy, the device manager is happy. I haven't touched the windows disk or installation, yet the sound doesn't work. The sound hardware is a Sound Blaster Audigy PCI card. This doesn't make sense surely. Any ideas?

Regular Cataclysmic Sound Failures In Asus Onboard Sound
After installing windows 7x64, the sound initially worked. Then I noticed that during any audio playback the sound would pop and crack regularly. Now on occasion, the audio will work with popping and cracking for a while, and then have a cataclysmic failure errupting in massive static before it stops working all together.  Sound works with popping and cracking again after a cold boot, but the problem repeats every few days. I am using an Asus M2N-Plus SLI Vista Edition Motherboard which uses the C-Media 6501 on board sound-card The problem is not changed by using headphones, or using the case front head-phone jack Attempted to use Vista x64 drivers, which do not work, Neither Asus nor C-Media have released updated drivers for windows 7x64 for this card Does anyone know of a set of drivers that work? or a way to work around this?

No Sound, No Sound Device Detected, Drives Installed
I'm in a pickle with my machine and Windows 7 after this latest update. On startup I get an error from MMDevApi.dll saying that it might not run on Windows or... something else. This also occurs anytime a program tries to use the sound card ie. WoW, Yahoo IM, Live IM, SL, etc. I've updated my sound card drivers to the newest ones. I still get an error that says the device is detected when going to "Sound Devices" in the control panel. Trying to adjust the sounds themselves leads me to the Windows Audio thing... which won't start even from the component list.

Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Sound Card Compatibility
I just bought a new pc from Dell. I opted out of buying the SB sound card they had as an option and now I am sorta regretting that. I loaded RC 7100 as soon as I got the machine and after going through this forum I am sorta left with the impression that SB cards don't work with Win 7. Is that really the case? I was looking at an "Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Sound Card" but if it will just cause me grief it's not worth it. Does anyone have a suggestion as to what I can get and not pull my hair out trying to get it to work? The main game I play sounds sorta mediocre with the on-board sound.

HP Laptop No Sound From Speaker But There Is Sound Through Headphone
I have hp dv1738od and have upgraded to Windows 7, previously Windows XP. Everything seem to be working ok except, for the sound. Window 7 automatically installed the driver, and said the sound card was working properly. But there was no sound through speaker. I removed the driver and reinstall the driver that I got from HP website that work for Window Vista. Installation went through with no problem and Device manager indicated no isssue on sound driver. However there was still no sound coming out from the speaker, only through headphone jack. I read tons of forums, and some has suggested that it may be the jack connection. I tried plugging in and out numerous time, and that did not solve the issue. Sound could be heard for like a sec, when headphone was being plugged out but it goes away quickly. To determine if it was hardware or software issue, i reinstalled Window XP and there was sound through speaker. So for sure it is not the speaker issue.

HP Pavilion A810n Drivers
I just installed Windows 7 Ultimate onto my HP Pavilion a810n, but cannot get the XP drivers to work with it. I really only need the network driver to work so I can access the internet. I have tried extracting the drivers to a folder and tried to add it using the "device manager" manually but that does not seem to work. It would also be great to get the motherboard audio/video drivers to work. Not that important since I have an external sound card and an ATI All in wonder Video Card.

HP PAVILION Built-in Webcam
Who knows how many people complained for following issue BUILT-IN WEBCAM WON'T WORK UNDER WINDOWS 7RC! All right, I have the same problem, but I just could't find similar thread on any forum. So, I installed win7 RC over win 7 beta (clean install not an update). Everything went smoothly, drivers all found and instaled, device manager showing no yellow exclamation triangles. Every bit of hardware is in place, everything works perfectly according to system diagnostic. BUT, webcam shows no picture. Driver is properly installed and has no collisions with other system resources. Interesting thing was, that camera was working excellent under win 7 beta. I don't know what has changed in win 7RC, but camera just won't start. If anyone has any solution or similar issue, please don't hesitate to post a reply. Oh yeah, my configuration: HP PAVILION dv 6670el Entertainment PC intel core2duo 2.0 GHz 2GB RAM 160GB HDD NVIDIA 8400gs video card HP built-in webcam (at least that's what system information says) 1.3Mpix

Win7 On HP Pavilion Dv9500t

However, I managed to make it work by installing the Vista driver available.

Install On An HP Pavilion Dv5t
I just installed Windows 7 Beta on my HP Pavilion dv5t and notice that my quick launch buttons don't work at all. The mute button does work, but does not turn orange when muted (like it did in Vista). I can only tell that it is muted because of the mute symbol that appears in the systray. The volume and WiFi buttons work correctly in Windows 7. I have tried installing some of the HP drivers, but no help. Anyone have any ideas?

Install On Hp Pavilion Dv 1136
if i install windows 7 on hp pavilion dv 1136, will it work? Answer:- It's a beta, so theres no guarantee that it will or wont work. I havent yet checked the specs of that hp machine so currently i cant even make a guess. To re-install XP SP3 you will have to format and re-install from your installation or recovery disks. However, if your looking at installing windows 7 make sure you have backups of all your files. just in case you have to do a full format at some point. Ive just had a quick search to try and find specs of this, and there are a few variations on the model, the graphics appears to be either a Geforce 9200m or intel 852/855 chipset. If its a model with The intel chipset/graphics then it wont give brilliant graphics performance due to no WDDM driver, and i honestly don't know how well the 9200m will perform, as i haven't seen any reports on that chipset(that i remember reading). heres the link to the individual models that are available, http://h20180.www2.hp.com/apps/Lookup?h_lang=en&h_cc=us&cc=us&h_page=hpcom&lang=en&h_client=S-A-R163-1&h_query=dv+1136&submit.x=0&submit.y=0 if you compare those numbers to what you have, then you will be able to find out precisely which hardware you have, then you can try searching here to see whether it will be generally compatible or not. Again as i said originally, with it being a BETA, there are no guarantees that Windows 7 will work with specific hardware, thats why it has been made available to increase the numbers of pc's that it can be tested on.
