HP Pavilion HDMI Audio Static
I have an HP Pavilion laptop (DV9334us) that I upgraded from Vista to Windows 7. Prior to the upgrade I used the HDMI output to a a Vizio flatscreen to extend my desktop to watch Hulu, etc. With Vista the HDMI video and audio output to the Vizio worked fine, but since upgrading to Windows 7 the video output to the Vizio is fine but the audio is crackly.

No HDMI Sound And No HDMI Audio Driver
I'm using the two monitor in the same time (I was working with the Iiyama and I was playing music or films with the HDTV). With Windows XP Pro, I've sound on my HDTV. Since i've installed Windows 7 64 bits (ver. 7100), I don't have any sound on my TV (it works perfectly with my speakers connected by 3"5 jack). I've correctly plugged the SPDIF connector from my motherboard to one of my video card (which have the two monitors plugged). Other information, when I go in the sound configuration, I see my speakers and the "Realtek Digital Output" but no HDMI Audio. I've tried to install NVIDIA HDMI Audio driver (I know that this driver is for integrated nvidia GPU but i try just to see ;) ). No audio on my TV I've tried to install older audio driver (for windows 7, vista and also windows XP) => No audio on my TV Is someone have an idea? I think that it's the NVIDIA Video driver that don't allow to have sound and i try new version but i'm not sure. For the moment, i'll display films on the tv and use my speakers to have sound but it's weird to have video in front of you and sound from your right, the stereo sound is not really usefull there.

No Audio Via HDMI To TV
I installed Windows 7 yesterday and at first I had no audio to my TV via the HDMI cable. I adjusted the settings via the sound icon on the taskbar, playback tab, changing whether the speakers or the Digital Output Device (HDMI), Sigmatel High Definition Audio Codec was the default. Eventually I got it to work. Today, however it has stopped working again and no matter what changes I make, nothing works. When I right click on the playback device Digital Output Device (HDMI) and choose TEST, I get the message: Failed to play test tone. All sound comes through the laptop speakers. I went to device manager and checked the driver for the codec and it was up to date. When I was using Vista, to get the audio all I had to do was plug in the HDMI cable and the sound automatically went through the TV. Does anyone have any ideas how to solve this?

Switching From HDMI Audio Output Back To Built Audio Output
Win7 RC (64 bit version) Recently I had to plug in just a monitor and speakers to my system (and unplug the HDMI TV input). Per the control panel, it correctly states that there is no HDMI device and standard line out is the active device. (Little bar graph goes up and down as audio supposedly is being outputed). (If I boot XP the audio works just fine.) My question is can anyone provide a pointer to where to look to see where the audio stream is going (I think it is still heading towards the HDMI port). Hardware - I7, MSI X58 MB, ATI 4350 graphics card, NO audio card (just built audio).

No Audio Via HDMI To TV Problem
The problem: Sound is working fine through my laptop speakers but when I connect it to the TV via HDMI cable the sound still comes through the laptop. I was previously running Windows Vista Home Premium and it worked absolutely fine. As in, the sound came out of the television speakers when I connected the notebook to the TV. I recently upgraded to Windows 7 Home Premium and since then it does not work. I would appreciate if anyone could help me. Right now the default sound output device is: Speakers/Headphones - SigmaTel High Definition Audio CODEC. The other two listed are Realtek Digital Output (Optical) - Realtek High Definition Audio and Digital Output Device (HDMI) - SigmaTel High Definition Audio CODEC. When I try either of the other two sound does not work at all. With the Realtek one it seems to recognize the sound but I don't hear it anywhere and with the HDMI one, it doesn't work at all i.e. Fails to play test tone. I have installed all the latest drivers according to manufacturers.

BluRay Audio Via HDMI
I've been keeping an eye on these forums; I find that it provides the most succinct information regarding Windows 7. I finally bit the bullet and made myself a HTPC running Win 7 RC 64-bit. The whole purpose was to play ripped DVDs (to VOBs) from my NAS, any downloaded shows (as AVI's) from my NAS, and hopefully BluRays via the BD-ROM (I have a PS3, so this was not the main reason). It seems that I was able to get the first two objectives working without any work. All I had to do was install the latest Catalyst drivers. However, I can't seem to get Cyberlink PowerDVD 9 Ultra (or Windows Media Center) to play BluRays with anything more than 'stereo.' I've tried to research the topic, but there's just too many acronyms flying around (PAP, AAC, AC3, etc) that reading forums is like greek! From my understanding, I know I can't get the DD TrueHD (or DTS-MA) to work via HDMI. However, I THOUGHT I could at least have PowerDVD "convert" (is the proper word downsample?) the DD TrueHD to a 5.1 Multichannel audio. Am I completely wrong? Is what I want even possible?

Lost HDMI Audio
I have a Sony VAIO VGN-AR390E laptop. It has a SigmaTel High Definition Audio device and an Nvidia 7600 GT. My HDMI audio doesn't work and I have tried for hours today to get it working again. It previously worked just fine in Windows Vista. I am connecting it to an Integra 7.8 receiver which has video pass through via HDMI to my Mitsubishi WD-73737 monitor. I have tried connecting straight through to my TV with no luck in the audio department, and also to someone else's TV with no luck in the audio department. However, a different laptop's HDMI audio worked just fine. The image is displayed correctly though. Today I tried uninstalling my current nvidia drivers (195.62) from laptopvideo2go and installing 2 different sets of video drivers provided by Sony for my laptop that are a bit dated now. No luck. I uninstalled and re-installed the current audio drivers by Sony. No luck. I also tried the previous version of the audio drivers without joy too. I also installed the Intel chipset drivers too without luck. When I go to the control panel and click sound and properties, I am setting the HDMI/SPDIF output to default and disabling the speakers/headphones option. The speaker icon in the taskbar shows the sound levels going up and down while playing material back- but I can never hear anything. I've tried the 44khz, 48 and 96 options, and Dolby Digital, DTS checked and unchecked and nothing makes a difference when I'm trying to test them. Everything used to work with my receiver except for the WMA Pro option. Now my receiver just says "No Audio Stream Detected" while I'm trying everything. I did have the K-Lite Codec package installed but since deleted it. I also tried messing with the AC3 Filter- and also deleted. No luck there either. I've tried powering down and resetting all of my equipment many times. I'm out of options- any suggestions are very welcome!

HDMI Gives Audio Through Monitor Only In Win 7
When using XP, I can get HD audio through my ASUS VK266H monitor from my Radeon 5850 video card AND, simultaneously, normal audio through my desktop speakers and subwoofer from my DMX Fire 24/96 soundcard. This gives me a cheap solution to surround sound, which is also very useful for varying the volume levels of music during late night browsing sessions and full on parties. Windows 7 however only allows the use of one or the other, through the Sound Manager default system. This is troublesome to use for other users on the PC, especially young children, who have little or no idea of how to switch the sound output. Could MS patch this please, so as to allow both sound systems to run concurrently as in XP, allowing the user to control output levels from the far more easily accessible volume controls on the equipment?

Video / Audio And Hdmi Card
I have a nvidia gt 9600 video card, and want to dual monitor to my large screen tv to use media center to watch movies, go online, etc. The card has 2 dvi outs, one goes to my primary monitor, the other I have a dvi>hdmi cable>tv set up. I know I do not get sound out of this video card, but can someone show me the proper card that I can get both audio and video out with using my hdmi cable to do this? The geeks at Best Buy seemed baffled when I asked them about a video card, and using just the hdmi cable to do what I wanted.....I do not want to run multiple cables, etc...

Win7 HDMI Audio Driver For IDT
I have an Sony computer PCG 2D1M and I use the HDMI slot to connect with my Bose sound system. Under Vista I had sound, after Upgrade Windows 7 Ultimate I have no sound, but all others works well. My acutal driver is Sigma Tel High Definition Audio Codec, as producer is named IDT.

Problems With ATI HD 3450 Audio Via HDMI
After uploading newest drivers, scrubbing my clean install of various generic audio and video codecs, drivers, devices and tools, I had spend about 4 hours of my life trying to get audio to work using a device that worked under XP MCE 2005. Enough being enough, I weighed the costs and purchased a Galaxy GeForce GT220 for about 90 bucks at that local big box store. Sure I could have saved about $20-30 driving about 30 minutes each way in winter wet weather. I wanted audio over my home theatre system and I wanted it now. First I downloaded the newest drivers available, installed the card, ripped out the default drivers and installed the new set. Peace of mind, 7.1 sound, priceless. I'll use that other card in my office where the silence of a passive card will be more appreciated.

Dell 1535 HDMI Audio Not An Option
I've recently upgraded my Vista 32 bit system, on a Dell Studio 15 (1535) to the 32 bit RCA of Windows 7 (Build 7100.) I used to have audio output via HDMI and now I can only output it to the on board speakers or headphones. I've tried running Windows and driver update, but Windows says I have the latest drivers. I have download the OEM driver that came with my system from Dell and ran it in compatibility mode as Vista, then as an administrator with no luck. This is a huge drawback to keeping the OS if I am not able to output both audio and video over HDMI as my only monitor I output to is via HDMI. Has anyone else had this issue and found a fix? I am currently running driver version 6.10.0.6162

No Audio Over HDMI Upgrade On XPS M1330
After upgrade from Vista 64 to Win7 the internal speaker work, as do all audio jacks (both speaker and microphone). But when I connect my laptop to my HDTV via HDMI, I get no sound throughput. Also I can not see in playback devices the HDMI audio option. I already updated the SigmaTel Audio Driver and the Intel GM965 Express Chipset Video Driver and still the problem.

Hdmi Audio / Std - Speakers Switching
ok to uncomplicated things ive read thru the forums and could not find anything concrete on this problem of mine.. i have a gigabyte mobo/amd cpu w/onboard hdmi my issue is sound switching right now as it stands, i need to manually switch on my pc between the HDMI audio as my main device and my PC speakers as my main device... on my laptops this is not a problem, it can automatically detect if hdmi is plugged in and switch sound over.. the main reason is its a slight pain to keep going over after a movie and switch over, nor do i want to disconnect a hdmi cable every time.. any suggestions how to automate this problem???

Surround Sound Works Via HDMI, But Not WMV, No Audio
I've got a bit of a problem with my audio with my new installation of Windows 7. Previously I had Vista installed, and had no problems with my Realtek HD audio. Installed Windows 7 everything looked good, then realized my Sony A/V receiver model SA-WCT100 was not outputting my movie collection in surround 5.1 like it use to using Vista. I figured, that�s cool, probably need to install ac3filter_1_51a, I had to in Vista, and it worked a treat when I enabled SPDIF pass through. I guess I should mention I�m using HDMI all the way through, from my PC to the receiver, from the receiver to the LCD. Well, that didn't fix it, everything still plays in stereo. After scratching my head and clicking here and there, I finally found a little tab in the sound settings of my Realtek HDMI setting called 'Custom'. I selected it, it said to enable AC3, DTS, etc click this box will require a restart. I said awesome, sounds like just what I need. I clicked, and rebooted. I went into WMC, and setup my audio wizard again, and selected 5.1, and tested, and this time it reported 5.1 on my Sony receiver as before it only showed 2 channels (Stereo). I played some of my DVD rips, and bam my DVD rips were playing surround sound again. I was like that was easy enough. I went to test my Blu-Ray rips that I had converted to WMV HD using TMPGEnc Xpress 4.0, and the video started to play, and I was like, wheres the damn sound. I noticed on the receiver, it didn't report anything for sound. I had no idea what was going on. My surround sound was finally working for everything, but my WMV HD videos had no sound output. I mean I can't even get stereo or anything out of them now. At least before the WMV played in stereo, now I can't hear anything. Please someone tell me what could be the problem, I don't know what else to try. I don't want to have to revert back to stereo, and disable the magic box under custom in my sound setting. I have downloaded the latest Realtek drivers form Realtek, version 2.35 for the ATI HDMI audio, and the Digital Audio. I also have the latest drivers for my integrated Radeon 3200 graphics card. I read that sometimes a high resolution can affect the audio, so I lowered my resolution from 1080p, and that didn't help, which I figured it wouldn't.

I upgraded to ultimate 7 64 bit.... I have ATI HDMI audio. My laptop is using an external monitor which I am connected to via HDMI. This monitor has an audio output that goes to computer speakers. Programs like itunes will play audio perfectly, however when I try to watch a dvd i get nothing but static sounds. I have used windows media player, and windvd... same static audio sounds. *When my computer is not connected to the external monitor via hdmi, the sound works fine when playing a dvd and coming out of laptop speakers...

Radeon 4670 Graphics Card Code 12 For HDMI Audio
This is my only unsolvable (to me) hiccup with Win 7 so far running on an ASUS P5AD2-E Premium Motherboard. I'm using a Saphire Radeon 4670 graphics card which has integrated HDMI audio suport. Some people seem to have this working in Win 7 but no luck here yet.

RC X32 Intel GM965 Driver Issues With HDMI Audio
I have a Dell 1525 inspiration laptop with Intel GM965 Express Chipset Video. I was running Windows Vista Ultimate on it befor upgrading to Windows 7 RC Now However the HDMI Audio nolonger functions or shows up under audio devices. I was using intel driver 7.14.10.1409,A03 but windows 7 upgrade rolled the driver back to a older one. I tried installing the newer driver but it says its not compatible with the operating system and won't install. I tried the latest driver from the Intel website 15.12.4.1666 (7.15.10.1666) but the screen goes black or flashes. I guess this is why Windows 7 is using a much older driver that is stable with the operating system. Anyone know a work around to get the HDMI Audio working?

HP Pavilion Dv2000 Audio Not Working
I recently installed Windows 7 on my HP Pavilion dv2000 notebook. I did this without noticing it was muted. Now I have no audio. I have tried downloading a variety of vista compatible Conexant High-Definition Audio drivers and as yet none have worked. The audio icon in my taskbar has a red circle with a white cross in it. When I try to install the latest driver through windows task manager it says I have the latest one. When I do a windows update I get no difference. Not really sure what I should do now. I'm out of ideas. Help? Please?

Audio Driver For HP Notebook Pavilion Dv2312us
It's not a huge problem, but just found out the WIN 7 audio driver for my HP notebook Pavilion dv2312us will not be available for another 2-3 months. Using the current driver, I get a POP sound when it goes into sleep mode or shuts down. I also don't have a mute function. I hope the POP sound is not damaging to the computer. I was on the driver page for this computer and the Win 7 audio driver is not listed. So then I went into a chat - he gave me a driver that wasn't compatible at all. Had to go back to my other generic IDT driver which causes problems above.

HP Pavilion Dv8220ca / Conexant High Definition Audio
I have a (3 yr.) HP Pavilion dv8220ca Laptop. Looking for a driver that will be compatible with Windows 7. My friend bought the new OS for his exact same lappy (without too much concern about updating) and said that he cannot found a sound driver that will work. I want to upgrade to Windows 7 and have been looking for a driver to fix his issue, so I can fix mine. I can't find the exact sound card, the normal driver set is a Conexant AC-Link Audio Driver. If anyone knows of a work around or a universal driver compatible with Windows 7 please let me know. So far I have tried the Conexant High Definition Audio 4.8.0.0 and I only received an ERROR.

Install On Asus P5N-EM HDMI Using HDMI
I have a problem with my ASUS P5N-EM HDMI motherboard  in Windows 7! My motherboard has two video outputs - VGA and HDMI! I try to install windows 7 when I use HDMI output, but installation can`t complete, windows restart with error! When I try install use VGA output, installation was perfect without any error, but if I turn off the computer, reconnect VGA to HDMI Windows 7 don`t start, just always restarting. In Windows Vista x32 I don`t has any problem with HDMI! Help me solve the problem!

Creative X-fi Crackling Static Noises
Creative's X-fi Vista drivers have caused crackling and static-type noise since Vista was introduced. The latest driver (2.18.008) finally took care of it on my system. I upgraded to Win 7 yesterday and the noises are back. I uninstalled the driver and re-installed several times but to no avail. I even relaxed the memory settings a little (Creative explained that memory was part of the cause, along with Nividia chipsets, but not their drivers). This did not help either. Has any one else experienced this problem?      Â

Network Locations - Static IPs
I have Windows 7 Pro and I connect my laptop to many different customer networks. It does a nice job identifying the network and setting a default printer etc. However... I have one customer with 15 cellular routers that I maintain. Each of them has a static LAN IP with DHCP turned off. As soon as I manually set the static IP Windows Identifies the network and I'm good. Then when I done I need to manually set the static IP back to DHCP. Is there any way for Windows to switch to a static IP that I assign when I plug into these routers? or Is there some third party software (free would be nice) that can do that? My old IBM laptop had some software that did exactly that. I think it was called Access connections. Any thoughts ideas or suggestions?
