This printer worked fine with Windows 7 beta and using the 64bit Vista driver and Windows 7 RC using the ms catalog driver, but now I have the official Windows 7 it just won't work
I either get an error 0x00000007a popup, or noting happens at all (would expect something to appear in the print spooler but nothing does).
Anyone else using this printer and seeing a similar problem?
Just tested HP Deskjet 6940 driver for use with HP Laserjet 6840. Though ink checking and HP printer feedback does not work 100%, it does do the job.
Could NOT get Vista (32) or XP (32) 6840 drivers to install, or function correctly.
I have an Acer laptop brand new and have been having random crashes since day 1. Came with Windows 7 Home Basic.
Specs are:
Core i3 2350M
2GB DD3 Ram
500GB HDD
nVidia 630M 1GB
I have used the SF Diagnostic tool and attached the files, but there are not memory dump files as i have tried several times to enable them but the system never creates them. The crash happens randomly and is not associated with Game or any specific application. I am using Kaspersky Pure as antivirus and i am sure its not causing any problem as i have been using it on other systems and laptops.
I did a Windows 7 Repair Install on my HP (G62) laptop, 64 BIT, and installed an HP Deskjet F4180 printer,it went on virtual USB001. Recently, when printing from various PDF files, I cannot print multiple pages of a document. It prints a single random page of the document, then gives printer error, and moves the document into queue, where I have to cancel the job. It seems to work OK in other application documents however. And it even seemed to work for an older small PDF file.Im running the laptop on wireless, with router configured to automatic DHCP, shows 2 devices, the laptop and the wired Desktop, and seems to be running fine. The network is set to Public.I uninstalled all HP programs, drivers, and reinstalled the latest full printer driver & software for 64 BIT from HP website. I stopped & restarted the print spooler service.I tried different USB ports, cables, connection steps.I tried HP scan utilities for fixing, and tried Windows Troubleshoot (which temporarily fixes issue for a single print job)Thru printers & devices all printer & USB drivers show up, are updated, & working.In Printer Properties, I tried printing directly to printer setting, but then NOTHING prints at all.As far as I remember the printer worked properly on my desktop, Windows 7, 32 BIT version.I also reinstalled ADOBE PDF, in case its the applications fault SFC /scannow doesnt find a problem Ive done CCleaner, DiskCleanup, CheckDisk, also no Virus, Malware detected thru the AV applications The Event viewer shows ID #602 :The print spooler failed to reopen an existing printer connection because it could not read the configuration information from the registrykeyS-1-5-21-3851181124-22741... Deskjet D4100 series. This can occur if the key name or values are malformed or missing.MS -Windows Print Service, Spooler Operation failed.I looked at the registry keys, but I dont know if they are in fact incorrect, or what to look for, what they should be ?HP support says its most likely a Windows & corrupted file or spooler service & registry (which I doubt because this is a new Repai Install !) Also, with spooler bypass it doesnt print.

I do have the install Cd, but when inserted it gives me an error message saying to use the "add printer" option in control panel. But when i use this and select "have disk" it does not recognize a printer driver to install.
How do i install the driver? I HP website says to plug it in and it will install automatically. But it doesn't!
Edit: I uninstalled the printer and connected it again. It automatically connected to windows update and installed itself.
I currently have Windows Xp and will soon be buying a new computer with Windows 7 64 bit. I have been using an HP deskjet 990CSE printer on Windows XP with no problems and would like to use in on my new system when I buy it. Will the 990CSE work in Windows 7 64 bit?

I connect the printer with a USB to Parallel printer cable and all i get is the paper advance to the top of page, then the printer just prints one lne over and over again untll I turn the printer off and dump the print queue. Is there a driver that I need for work the USB ste ue

I just installed the new release client last night, upgrading from vista to 7. Now the printer won't work in any way, shape or form. It says it can't find the correct driver. I had all the latest drivers installed, but i went to HP anyway & got them again. Trying to install them I get a message of "this driver is already installed" (or something to that effect), if i use the HP updater it tells me I already have the latest version installed.
If i examine the printer & drivers and tell it to update the drivers it again says I have the most up to date. I have tried it in compatibility mode and that doesn't work either. In spite of all of these things telling me that the latest drivers are indeed installed under "devices & printers" it still says "the driver for the hp deskjet f4100 series is not installed. Install the latest driver for this device". So I'm unable to print or scan.
Is there any fix for this?

I tried to install the printer HP Deskjet in my computer with Windows 7, but I didn't find any driver for this OS and for x64. I only found drivers for older versions of Windows. I looked for it in the own HP website, and the windows update, but, it didn't work. Windows 7 does not list this printer in Add device manager, only some similar ones, that does not work too.

anyone? hp website says to use the vista built-in driver for 3600 series, but it doesn't show on seven drivers list. the driver pack for vista x64 says the os is 32bits.

We have two XP machines that can print via wifi to the HP printer on the Vista machine.
We recently bought a Windows 7 computer. It is attached directly to the router with an Ethernet cable and is on our home network - sort of. I can't find how to make sure it's connected to the MSHOME group, though the other computers show up under "network".
Windows 7 can see the HP Deskjet on the Vista.
It found the drivers and installed them on Windows 7.
The printer shows up as an installed printer on Windows 7.
Windows 7 will print a test page.
Windows 7 *will not* print from any other program, even though it will show "printing" and the item appears in the print queue on Windows 7. (Items do *not* appear on the Vista print queue, however.)
I've browsed for hours in the forums and have tried several options, but nothing previously written has worked. One was to set up a "local" printer on the Windows 7, even tho it really isn't - when I plugged in the path (\VistaComputerNameHP Deskjet name), it told me it was not an option, path does not exist.
I tried \networkVistaComputerNameHP Deskjet name, also \NetworkMSHOMEVistaComputerNameHP Deskjet name and \MSHOMEVistaComputerNameHP Deskjet name... and same message, the path does not exist). (When doing the path names, I'm using generic names here; in actuality, I *am* using the correct paths for our system set-up.)
