I just installed the latest Nvidia driver for Windows 7. I restarted and now have a black screen with the watermark in the lower right corner and a mouse pointer. How do I even roll back the driver? Should I hard shut down and try again?
Forgot about trying in safe mode...hope that does it.
Roll back in safe mode did it but I would be careful using these drivers for x64 Win 7. They say that's what they're for.
Edit more info: If you're looking at this...don't try to uninstall the driver that didn't work form "programs and features". It took ALL display drivers off my system and I went through hell again trying to get any display driver to work.
I just got my new laptop, which has Windows 7. I tried to use my microsoft wireless laser mouse 5000 but when I try an install the 64 bit vista driver, it claims compatibility issues. How do you i get around this? I need this mouse.
I just installed Windows 7 to my Apple iMac (latest generation from Apple) on a Boot Camp partition. The solve PC issues window says I need to update my driver and includes a direct download but I prefer to get the update directly from the source. I think that the GeForce/ION Driver Release 190 is the graphics driver I need.
NVIDIA DRIVERS 190.62 WHQL
When I run the driver test on the nvidia website it says I need the Notebook Release 186 but the 9400 is not listed under supported devices. Again, I'm 99% sure that I need the GeForce/ION Driver Release 190 but I don't want to screw anything up.
96.85 is the driver comes with Windows Update for FX 5200 cards. The problem is this driver makes my computer freeze at random times. For full details This Thread.
I've found 97.34 and 98.16 are also compatible and enable Aero. However all of those cause my system lock up as told in the linked thread. I am using 169.21 Forceware which is a XP driver and that can't support Aero interface.
Is it a way to combine this two working and not working drivers? Like modded INFs?
what is the newest driver for my graphic card.I have GeForce GT 440 and i have problems with my PC.So maybe the problem is that i need a new driver. My problem i think is quite complicated.I don't have an option about the refresh rate(only 60 hz) and when i 'm trying to play NBA2k12 it says:OUT OF RANGE:106.4kHz/85Hz.
I've just been trying out 7 and am liking it but I've been unable to find a driver that works successfully. I've searched all the threads and tried nvidia's website but no luck. I'm 99.9% sure I have the GeForce FX5200 (it was called Personal Cinema I think when I got it years ago)
Currently Device Manager is showing 'Standard VGA Graphics Adapter' and I've tried using 190.62 but that doesn't recognise the hardware either.
Does anyone know where I can find a working driver for this card and 7? Also should I reseat the card in case thats why it has not been recognised?
juz 1 to ask for help here.can some1 told the latest driver for me.This info bout my driver.try to update but only beta in Nvidia web.microsoft updater has download ver. 15.26 but i'm not too clever to handle this thing....
my notebook is Sony vaio sz7 and I used to work with a dual monitor. But after the installation of windows seven I can`t connect my NEC monitor. i think its because of the video driver. my video adapter is NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS but i can`t find a driver for 8M series for seven.

I'm trying to update my geforce 8800 using nvidias latest drivers. My problem is that Windows 7 keeps reverting back to the old drivers. The setup runs smoothly but there is no reboot option and the device manager still show the old driver. I have been searching the web for an answer for quite some time now so if you have any idea please let me know.
OS: Vista Home Premium SP2 32bit and Windows 7 Ultimate (RC build 7100) 32bit (Dual Boot)
I'm currently having problems with my graphic card driver and the aero effects in windows 7. It wont allow me to install the driver or use the aero effects and that is a bummer for me. I really wanted to try it out.
I am running windows 7 32 bit version. I am using geforce 8500gt to connect my monitor and TV. I have extend the desktop through HDMI cable to my 52" sony LCD TV. I have set the resolution for my TV to 1920 x 1080 which should be fully supported by my TV. For some reason, the TV doesnt allow me to change the aspect of screen and the picture mode because it doesnt recognize the PC HDMI input with resolution of 1920 x 1080. However resolution setting on PC still indicate the TV has 1920 x 1080.
I have tried loading the latest nvidia driver from nvidia's website directly or let windows 7 automatically search for the driver to install. Either way after the driver is installed and rebooted, my TV will recognized the input as 1920 x 1080 right away and I am able to change the aspect and picture mode. However after maybe half hour, the problem will occur again and doesnt allow me to make aspect and picture mode adjustment. This is very weird as it has never happen before when I was running vista.
Santa Clara, California-based NVIDIA has announced today that it has received the Windows Hardware Qualification Lab (WHQL) certification for a driver that has been designed to support the DirectCompute technology and Windows 7 operating system. The announcement represents another milestone for the company, which has been actively promoting the performance capabilities of its GPUs in general-purpose computing-enabled applications. The certification will enable users to see increased performance for a number of apps that take advantage of the company's GeForce GPUs in the Windows 7 OS environments.
“Windows 7 combined with applications that take advantage of the new DirectCompute technology have the potential to transform the personal computing experience for millions of customers using GPUs to turbo-charge scenarios in digital media applications,” said Mike Ybarra, general manager for Windows Product Management at Microsoft Corp. “We've already seen some applications come to market that take advantage of the GPU, Windows 7 and DirectCompute will make it even easier for developers to write applications and deliver these benefits to millions of additional customers.”
The chip maker has announced that the new driver will be made available through its website later this week, enabling the DirectCompute technology to work on systems running on GeForce GPUs and Microsoft's Windows 7 operating system. Applications that are optimized for DirectCompute are to deliver smoother and an overall better quality in NVIDIA GPU-enabled systems.
In addition to the DirectCompute feature, which will be part of the upcoming DirectX 11 API, Windows 7 will also provide users with an increase in performance for gaming applications. According to NVIDIA, using its SLI technology and the new OS, users should see a 14% increase in performance across top gaming titles, compared to previous generations of GPUs. Windows 7 is also expected to bring H.264 high-definition video playback to Windows Media player, which will also take advantage of the performance delivered by the system's graphics processing unit.
I'm using hp pavilion dv6-7012tx with 2gb nvidia geforce gt630m.when i checked for update in nvidia control panel it showed no update available.but it also showed that my driver version is some 2.3.xx & version 3.xx is available for download.what does this means?
Okay, I was one of the many students being really annoyed by the Digital River download and now I'm having some driver problems. I have an NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT. None of the drivers work and I can't even find it in my Devices.
This is for Torrentg. Can you please create a custom Inf file for me. I tried everything incl downloading the latest Nvidia driver and mMobilityModder to no avail. I am running windows 7 home premium 64 bit on a sony Vaio laptop with Nvidia geforce 8400M GS and below is the info you need on my video card:
Has anyone had problems with the Nvidia Gforce 8600 GT driver download from MS. I have tried to install this driver several times and each time it fails?
