Enable - On Resume, Display Logon Screen For Screen Saver

I'm creating a Windows 7 Image using the AIK. I been using Audit Mode to install my applications.  I've created a custom power scheme so that the computer will not hibernatesleep while I'm in Audit Mode. My question is I would like to enable the checkbox to require a password to bring the computer out of a screensaver mode during the OOBE pass or via the SetupComplete.cmd.

Screensaver On Resume, Display Logon Screen - Bug
If the screensaver wait time is set to the same as the "Turn off the display" time, the computer is not locked on resume, even though "on resume, display logon screen" is checked.

Screen Saver On Resume Doesn't Ask For Password
I installed W7 beta and then the rc version in  a Hyper-V virtual environment and was quite impressed with this latest release of Windows. so i decided to install the w7 ultimate rc x86 version on a physical machine.

the deployment was via WDS using the image as provided without any modifications or customizations. aside from HECI and LanOnSol drivers that this motheboard requires everything installed without a problem.

the domain account used to logon to both the virtual and physical installations has the Screen Saver configured for a blank screen with a 30 minutes timeout and to require logon on resume.

while the virtual machine requests credentials on resume, the physical machine doesn't.

the video card is part of the Intel chipset and the drivers used are the latest available for this piece of hardware.

additionally, even though the Screen Saver is configured via group policy the Screen Saver icon in the Personalization window clearly shows that the screen saver is not configured. when this icon is double clicked to configure it the gpo configuration is displayed accurately and the settings are greyed out as you would expect.

using a local account versus a domain account makes no difference on the physical machine as to whether credentials are required to resume.

the domain is on Windows 2003 functional level.

On Resume Or After Screen Saver, Resolution Changes And Desktop Background Goes Black
I am running build 7000 (32-bit) on an Intel Core 2 Duo system with an ATI Radeon HD3870 graphics card. In the past week or so, the system has started doing something very annoying.  On a resume from standby or hibernate, after waking the monitor up or, rarely, while I am working, the monitor resolution will change from the normal 1680x1050 to 1024x768 and the desktop background will go black (I'm just using the default "Beta" background).

If I log out and in again, it will usually reset.A possibly related symptom is that sometimes the monitor will not wake up from going into power save.  The system seems to be still running, but no signal is received.  Nothing I do with the mouse or keyboard will wake it up and the only fix at that point is a hard restart.I believe that this started when Windows Update installed a new WDDM 1.0 driver.

I tried to install the official ATI Catalyst driver for Vista, but it would not install, complaining of lack of device ID in the driver or some such.  I've done a lot of searching and haven't found other discussions of this issue.  I tried doing a rollback of the driver but I don't think it worked.Any tips or thoughts?

Screen Blackout / Flicker On Logon, Resume - Undock
Win7 is working well on my Thinkpad X41T except for one annoying glitch: after I log in, the desktop appears for a couple of seconds & then the screen goes black for about 5 seconds (this also happens when I resume & multiple times when I tried to udock from the port). Can anyone point to a fix for this?

Win 7 Screen Saver With Extended Display
Really enjoying Win7 and can't wait for the RTM product.  I have my 22" display set as my main display and my laptop screen set at my extended display. One issue I have noticed is that when the "Photos" screen saver comes on the picture is split between my laptop screen and my main monitor. I would think it should put the screen saver on either one or both of the displays.

Logon Screen And Display Turn Off
I've made multiple searches but didn't come up with any other posts regarding this issue. I've noticed that after I close remote desktop session to Win 7 machine, it goes to welcome/logon screen which persists without ever allowing the display to turn off. I've set the time for display to power off at 5 min, but this doesn't seem to be active at the welcome screen. My display stays illuminated at this screen indefinitely.

Black Screen After Coming Out Of Screen Saver
I have a lenovo X61 which I removed all partions of and installed W7U x64. downloaded the lenovo update utility and the combination of lenovo auto download and windows update installed all necessary drivers. Machine was working beautifully for at least 4 weeks. Then once I was working without the power plugged with over 50% of charge left. Went away for a while came back and the machine was I assume in blank screen saver mode.

I moved the point tracker, typed some keys but the deep black screen would not go away. tried forcing to go into sleep by shutting the cover. that didn't work. Tried for force it into hibernation by pressing the power button once that didn't work. Hard reset it by pressing the power button until it went off.when rebooted it allowed me to login but Symantec NIS2010 gave me an error that it is was not activated although it was.

I restarted the machine and this time it will not boot. Tried safe mode. No luck.I had to reinstall everything again 4 days ago.Yesterday again, I got the black screen when my laptop went into blank screen saver mode with no power connected to it.Hard reset was the only solution. This time I started up in Safe Mode then restarted and it is working fine.

However, I do not want to risk going through the same issue again. We are configuring a volume mirror replication at work to recover faster if something happens again. But this is very troubling, time consuming and frustrating. any ideas what the issue might bet?

Screen Becomes Corrupted And Logon Screen Changed Color
This is so strange. My screen resolution is corrupted and my logon screen changed from Green to Blue.

Steps:
1) Using Office Word 2007, Outlook 2007, IE 8 Beta, and Live Messenger on Windows 7
2) Pressed Ctrl + Alt + Delete to lock my computer

Observation:
1) Screen is corrupted (resolution becomes 640 x 480 from 1280 x 800 and colors become 16 bits)
2) Logon screen is now Blue instead of Green

I was able to change the resolution of the screen. However, still don't know how to switch my logon back to Green color.

2.  F8, safe mode (didn't work)

3.  F8, last known good (didn't work)

4.  Startup repair (didn't work) Anybody got other ideas?

I can't login at all as I don't ever get a login screen.

Blank Screen On Resume From Sleep Mode
I've been getting a blank screen when I attempt to resume my Windows 7 Ultimate pc from sleep mode.  I have to force a shutdown twice, then it gives me a choice to delete the restoration and proceed to bootloader or something like that.  Known issue?  Any fix yet?  (64-bit version of 7 ultimate). Running an Nvidia 9500GT with latest drivers installed about a week ago, so maybe a compatibility issue with the graphic driver?

Desktop: New one: Antec 300, Intel Pentium Dual Core E6300 2.8GHz, Gigabyte GA-EP43-UD3L, PNY 4GB PC6400 800MHz DDR2 RAM, EVGA Nvidia GeForce 9500GT 512MB DDR2, 500GB Seagate Barracuda 7200 16MB cache, 64-bit Windows 7 Ultimate, Antec Earthwatts 500 Watt PSU, Samsung SyncMaster 906BW 19" Widescreen LCD display. Black Screen Instead Of Logon Screen
I use the bios selection to boot from either drive A or B.I use Windows dual-boot menu on drive B to select between Vista and 7RC.

The black screen problem was first observed with both the 32-bit and the 64-bit versions of the Beta distributed at the Installation Festival. I had taken only one monitor to the festival and everything appeared to be working fine then. Once home, I noticed that I had no sound. I downloaded drivers for my SPXFI card and got sound but, got the black screen on reboot. I asumed that the SB driver was the cause. I had configured the Display on DVI 2 as my main display.

I then tried the 32-bit version with the same results. I had purchased a brand new 1TB drive for my Win 7 experimentation. I had disabled my main drive (A) throught the BIOS for installation. I hastily concluded that W7 was not quite ready for my system. I installed Vista Home Premium on my B drive using the same method and everything worked fine.

When RC was announced, I downloaded the 64-bit version, created a partition on my B drive and installed it there while my A drive was disabled from the BIOS. Installation went fine but I encountered the same black screen problem on the final reboot. However, I observed the odd disk activity and did not want to turn of the computer while this was going on. I tried Ctrl-Alt-Delete and other things and managed to get some voice from the computer.

I had activated the Access functionality from the invisible logon screen. I did another Ctrl+Alt+Delete, typed my password and followed by Enter. The monitor connected to DVI 1 immediately came on. I did not have a menu bar because I had specified the other monitor as my primary one. A right-click on the screen brought up the contextual menu, from which I selected Personalize > Display > Change display settings.

Clicking the "Detect" button turned on the second monitor. I plan on altering my connection so that my main display will be on DVI 1 instead of 2. In the mean time, I will blind-type my password and restore the settings.

How To Disable The WMP Resume Screen After Pausing A Video ?
is there an option to disable the blue screen (with resume, go to library) that appears when you pause a video and leave it for few minutes?

The problem is that the resume option doesn't work correctly with streaming video content and starts playing an asx playlist from the begining and I have to serach the position I left off. I like that idea of this screen but if it doesn't work in all situations I would like to switch back to the old behavior where the video was just paused and displayed.

Screen Saver And Mouse
Everything is working great the My Windows 7 install, except when my Microsoft USB wireless optical 3000 mouse is plugged in to the computer. When the mouse is plugged in the screen saver and power setting don't work. The screen wont dim, the screen saver doesn't activate, the computer wont power down. I unplug the mouse everything works as expected.

I have a Gateway MT6828 notebook. I am running the 64 bit version, I have all of the latest drivers I can find, the device manager looks good. I uninstalled and reinstalled the mouse driver. Changed the power setting for USB in screen saver tab. I have changed themes, screen saver and tweaked all of the power settings. When I plug in my USB printer, the screen saver works.

The next time I go to the office, I plan on trying a non wireless mouse.

Anyone have any ideas?

Photo Screen Saver Error
I have a photoscreensaver error that reads as follows:

Photoscreensaver.scr Entry Point Not Found

The procedure entry point DwmHintDxUpdate could not be located in the dynamic link library USER32.dll

It comes on when the screensaver starts, I have go no screen saver organised, the screen just goes black, then when I move the mouse the black screen goes and the above is in a box. It is possibly related to a rolling wallpaper I am using from my photos folder.

Has anybody got any ideas? Ultimate 64bit RTM
