ESATA Drives Not Recognized

I have Windows 7 Ult. and been having problems with my ESATA drives. If i dont use the computer for so long not to sure how long but seems like over 4hrs the ESATA drives are not in my computer's folder and can't get them recognized unless i reboot my system.

I do not use the sleep or hibernation and i did turn off hardisks from sleeping under power settings. I have power setting to stay on all the time for everything but still my ESATA drives disappear.

ESATA Drive Is Not Recognized If Turned On After Boot
I have eSATA HD connected to dual-boot comp: XP (32 bit)/Win7 RC 64 bit. In XP, I can turn the drive on/off anytime: it appears or disappears in disk manager automatically with no problem. But in Windows 7, it does not appear in drive manager's list if I turn it on AFTER I boot.

Windows 7 does not see the drive even after re-scan.If I turn the drive on BEFORE boot, it shows up OK.Can anybody tell me what can be a reason for this?Thank youPSI have AHCI mode activated in BIOS.

ESata Drives Not Hot Swappable
I can include an added eSata drive  by 'rescaning disks' in Disk management

I can not remove a esata drive without first shutting down.

Asus M3A78-em mobo.

I have no problem hot swapping sata drives on my old mobo with a Promise secondary onboard sata controller running XP.

I am not sure if the problem is W7 or the controller itself.

Expansion Hard Drives Not Recognized After Sleep/Hibernation
My Dell Studio XPS 435T desktop has three hard drive bays, one factory installed and two populated with WD Caviar Black 1TB drives. After Windows 7 resumes from sleep or hibernation, the drives often disappear from the system and do not reappear until after a reboot. Any suggestions?

Dell XPS 400 DVD Drives Not Recognized
My system hadn't been updated in awhile...so I wiped it and put on clean install Win 7 r.c. 64bit from a DVD i burnt...At first I was able to load a few drivers onto the system from CD & DVD drives...The very first day I installed, I had to run some errands...I left the computer with some discs. inside and when I came back windows explorer did not recognize  D + E drives...this is very strange to me b/c @ first they were recognized...

I walked away came back and then they were gone...+ Win 7 booted off DVD! Dell Diagnostics sees them and all tests pass...I can see them in device manager but they have yellow exclamations. I saw that someone had this problem for Vista ...but the "auto fix" or "fix this for me" button from Microsoft doesnt work for me with my 64bit Win 7 r.c.

ESATA Drive Goes Missing
I've got window 7 up and running all my stuff - lots of audio and video editing - the only issue is that when my WD My Book Studio Edition spins down after some time of inactivity, Windows looses the drive. I've searched through my BIOS for eSATA setting and there was no help there that I could find.

Promise ESATA PCI Adapter
Windows 7 does not seem to like my Promise eSATA PCI Adapter (SATA300 TX4302). It came bundled with my Seagate external eSata drive and only comes with XP drivers.

I did not have any trouble in Vista, However, Windows 7 comes up as an unknown PCI device.

ESATA Driver / Hardware Issue
I am having an issue with eSATA on my PC. When I plug in my drive Win7 does not recognize it. I have to go in manually to detect the drive and sometimes that dosnt even work. I have been looking around for fixes but I cant seem to find anything. Part of the issue (I belive) is that Win7 is installing drivers automatically and thats why I cant use the JMB Drivers.

Here is what I have Tried:

Pluggin in the drive, power up, power down.

Plug in the drive, Disk Management, Rescan, Detect (sometimes works).

Uninstalling the device, attempting to install the right drivers for my PC ( ftp://driver.jmicron.com.tw/jmb36x/XP_Vista_Win7/ ), Driver says that its not a JMB Micron Device (but it is) appon looking at it under device manager it says its a Microsoft device with a Microsoft driver, this is not true and probobly why my driver wont install.

Updating Windows Driver.

Specs: ASUS MV50, Windows 7 Professional (not the Beta or RC).

I have tried all this with nothing working any ideas? I really would like to use my drive on something faster then USB2.0.

Blacx Docking Station Esata Drivers
new install of win7 64bit, and updates current.

have added esata port via sata port on mob; but can't locate it in device manager.

because of this, I assume that is why I can't get the eSATA cable from blacx docking station to work.

The USB cable works fine.

driver issue is only my best guess...help appreciated, and I am hoping it is simple fix.

PCI-Express ESata Card Problems
I have a StarTech 1 port PCI-Express eSata card, which I recently installed on my Asus P5VD2-X motherboard. Unfortunately, when I attach my eSata drive (via the eSata cable) it does not show up. In fact the system does not even register the card (which is new).

I tried changing the motherboard settings in BIOS in various ways (ACHI, RAID, EX-SATA to PCI-E etc) and this caused Windows to do something akin to recognising the card - it downloaded a SiL driver in the update manager -- I then manually downloaded the latest driver from JMicron, also to no avail.

On several occasions, when I switched on the drive, the computer crashed. The long and the short of it is that the drive still does not appear on my computer, though it does when I attach it via USB. Any suggestions?

64 System Recovery Disc Will Not Find External Esata Drive
Made a system image to my esata drive just fine, made system recovery disc and booted just fine, but could not find the image on the esata disc I created it on the day before! Fortunately, it has both interfaces, and when I switched to USB it found it and restored my image (perfectly and pretty quickly, I might add - I was impressed).

How can I massage the system recovery disc to boot with sata drivers? The creation routine, in Microsoft's ever-dumbing-down style, has no options for installing, say, the sata drivers you would use from a floppy to boot from during installation, which my motherboard maker provides (Gigabyte). Is there any way to do this, or am I stuck switching to slow usb for external drives! Good thing my external disc has both interfaces, the cheaper ones don't.

This is a big bug, as when you easily create a system image to an external drive, you naturally assume it will be able to find and restore from the same drive!! This could leave you high and dry and losing your whole system. Does anyone have a way to either (preferably) install the sata drivers onto the System Recovery Disc, or boot with them to use it on an external esata driver?

Win 7 Installation To System With 5 Logical Or System Hard Drives Drives.
I am planning to upgrade my XP Professional system via a clean install of Windows 7 Professional 64bit.  The hard drive sub-system consists of a 12 drive RAID array that presents 5 68GB logical hard drives to the operating system.  Each of these drives are currnetly partitioned into single FAT32 partitions (C: through G:).I understand that the C: drive will have to be converted to NTFS but as I understand the installation process the data on that drive will have to be saved to an external drive and then restored.

I would prefer to stick with FAT32 and retain the ability to dual boot to MS-DOS - but I can live with it.  Drives D: through G: are another matter. The drives are used mainly for data but there are some programs that I have installed in "E:Program Files" over the years to keep the C:  drive from running out of space.

I realize that all programs will have to be re-installed loosing that option is not that big a deal. The question boils down to: Do drives D: through G: have to be converted to NTFS or will Windows 7 live with the existing FA32 setup?   Also, I saw some chatter suggesting that it might be possile to install Windows 7 on a FAT32 partition-- if that is the case this whole question becomes moot.

CD Drive Not Recognized After Reboot
I'm using a Dell laptop Studio XPS 1640. Ok, I was about to upgrade to Windows 7 and it listed a couple of programs that needed to be deleted, so I uninstalled them. The 2nd or 3rd time I was required to restart my computer, it froze at the "Shutting Down..." screen for about 20 minutes. I waited and waited and decided to power down. I turned it back on, and it didnt say Windows was not shut down properly, so i figured it was ok.

However when I booted back up, I was going to eject and re-insert the upgrade CD. I hit eject, nothing happens. Hit eject again, nothing happens. I go to Computer to try and view the CD thats in my CD Drive....NOTHING SHOWS UP! MY CD drive is now UNRECOGNIZED by my computer! Now I cant complete the upgrade. Not to mention, the upgrade made me uninstall itunes and my virus protection, saying a new version will be installed automatically after the upgrade.

Mouse Freeze Up Or Is Not Recognized
I have been testing Windows 7 Beta with all of the updates on an Insperion 600m. Surprisingly it worked fine and ran Office 2007. Suddenly my mousepad pointer locked up. I shut the computer down and connected a wireless mouse with no correction to the problem.

I shut down a second time and connected a wired mouse and restarted the computer again. Again the mouse was motionless. Beside three dead mice what could be the problem?

Sometimes Keyboard Not Recognized At Boot Up
When I boot up my system, my keyboard is not recognized sometimes. In the past it would not see my keyboard after being awaken from a sleep state, but that appears to have stopped. I have uninstalled both of my keyboard drivers (HID and PS 2) and switched keyboards! I had to rebot three or four times before it re-installed my PS2 keyboard driver.

The PS2 driver is the 2006 32 bit Legacy driver that comes with windows 7. I am running Windows 7 64 bit business edition. I have a MSI X58 Premium Motherboard, I7 920 processor, ATI Radeon 4670 Graphics card, Enermax 500 watt power supply and two SATA hard drives (SSD 64 Gigs C: drive, Western digital 500 gb and a IDE DVD RW). I have tried several different Keyboards, with the same results. Does anyone know what could cause this?

Wifi Adapter Not Recognized
I have a problem with Windows 7 Release Candidate (beta rev7100). I have a Linksys Wireless-B (WUSB11V4) network adapter that I use to connect to my wifi router. It works fine under my Windows XP. However, as I installed Win7 beta, I didn't find any way to make it work. Tried to find a driver, but it does not seems to exist for Win7.

Tried to install the driver I got with it, but it doesn't seem to work as it's for Windows XP. Tried to make Win7 recognize it by its own ways, but failed. The adapter's a 802.11b. Is that too old for Windows 7?

By the way, when I try to plug it out, I hear a sound and when I plug it in again, I hear another one, but it does not seem to be the "hardware recognized" sound.

Can anyone help or send a driver for windows 7?

None Of USB Connections Are Recognized
I have just installed Windows 7 32 bit and now none of my USB connections are being recognised. my computer specs are: http://www.acerdirect.co.uk/Acer_Aspire_9301AWSMi_Laptop_LX.AWP0X.008/version.asp Before I installed Windows 7 everything worked fine on XP. I have 3 Maxtor Onetouch 4 external hard drives, a logitech wireless keyboard and mouse. Even my iphone isnt being found when i plug it in. I get no response from windows when I plug the USB's in. I can hear the external hard drives powering up so it isn't a power issue and I have swapped all of the USB connection leads about and it doesn't make any difference.

I've tried all of my hard drives on my friends computer and they all work fine. Ive looked through the forums for answers but cannot seem to find any that work. I have been to the disk manager and device manager and they cant find the USB connections. Ive also been to the Maxtor/Seagate website and non of their walk through seem to work or be applicable to this scenario.

Any help that you could give me would be greatly appreciated as I'm a student and really need to access these external hard drives along with my i-Phone etc (preferably on my own PC).
