Does It Matter If I Delete Logs From INTEL Folder

Feb 29, 2012

i was wondering if it matters if you could delete the IntelChipset, IntelGFX, and IntelIRST logs from my computer. If so is there harm in deleting or opening and clearing any log doc?

One Music Folder Will Not Open No Matter What

Dec 27, 2011

I have THE Music Folder located in Libraries and inside this Folder i have another Folder called All Music that no matter what i do, i cannot open the damn thing. It's not locked, It's not restricted, I've tried right clicking on it and doing Open. I've tried doing Open in New Window. I've tried Deleting the damn thing and then Restoring it.

I don't even get an error. It just simply sits there. Yet i can open every other Folder on my Computer. Except this ONE Folder.

Help, please?

I have Windows 7 Home Premium x64, My Virus Scans are up to date and so are my Computer Updates. I've closed all Programs and tried opening it, too.

This isn't "Super" important. I'm more concerned that there's something wrong with my hard-drive than the actual Music (although there's over 700 Songs in this one Folder..)

Delete Intel HD Graphics Windows 7 Update?

Aug 29, 2012

After four or five trial and error attempts of system restores to find why my computer was having such an insanely long boot time I finally discovered that it was an optional windows update titled "Intel Corporation- Display - Intel(R) HD Graphics." I avoided the update and my computer worked amazingly. However, my girlfriend recently used my computer and decided to perform some updates...the Intel HD Graphics update being one of them. So of course now my computer is experiencing the same slow boot time and general sluggishness.

Keyboard Defaults To EN No Matter What

Aug 26, 2009

I have installed Windows 7 RC1 Build 7100 x64. Default system display language is english (EN). I have since installed Norwegian. Norwegian Dvorak and programmer Dvorak, all well so far, but no matter what i do it always defaults back to EN on "new windows" opened.

I have even removed EN from the list of installed services (See attachment picture if it made it in here). The short cut keys work fine for switching between the languages. I run windows update regularily and have restarted the pc several times.

Does Frequency / Speed Of RAM Matter Hugely

May 26, 2011

As my tower's motherboard shorted, i'm stuck with a six year old HP Pavilion ZV5000 laptop. I have two (don't ask ), and i'm using the better of the two, with a 2.0GHz AMD Athlon 64 'Clawhammer', 40GB IDE HDD, 512MB RAM (2x256) and 64MB of video RAM. I would ultimately like to upgrade the RAM to the 2GB max., but that would cost 60, which I don't have to spare at the moment. A friend of mine recently upgraded the RAM in his laptop from 2x512MB to 2x1GB, and offered me the 2x512MB sticks. Obviously, my first concern was was it the right type. Off the top of my head, the ZV5000 takes SODIMM 333MHz RAM. I enquired, and my friend said the RAM he has is 600MHz (from what he could remember). If they are the right physical size, would the difference matter/damage the laptop?

Full Volume No Matter Where My Slider Is ( USB )

Sep 27, 2009

I have a usb headset, it's running on the generic windows 7 USB audio drivers and it plays audio and records from the mic just fine. The only problem is, no matter where my volume slider is in the system tray they play at full volume.

What this means is I have to adjust the volume inside each application in order to not go deaf. Windows sounds are still terribly loud, and programs where I CAN'T adjust volume are a nightmare.

They are A4Tech HD-800 headphones and they're supposed to run on the C-Media CM112 drivers, but they aren't 7 compatible.

How To Delete A Folder

Jan 15, 2011

I have a folder that has 25 subfolders and all folders are empty. When I try to delete them, an error appears stating that the folder contains names that are too long for the recycle bin. The next screen states that the source file name(s) are too long than is supported by the file system.

I would like to remove this folder and all its subfolders. I have tried everything from changing permissions to changing attributes and even trying DOS to remove the folders; no luck!

Can't Delete A Folder

First off, sorry if this is in the wrong place. I had no idea what section to post this in.Today I was using a program for the game 'Minecraft' called MultiMC and when deleting files it created I don't need anymore, I came across a folder I couldn't open, delete or do anything with. When I try to open it it says '(location) is not accessible. Access is denied'. When I try delete it, it says 'You need permission to perform this action. You require permission from the computer's administrator to make changed to this folder' (yet, I am the administrator - the only account on the computer).

How To Delete A Folder From C Drive

Sep 20, 2010

I installed Windows 7 on a clean hard drive with only one user account and password. After installing McAfee, the Windows password was not recognized, and all I could do was reinstall Windows and I did this without assigning a password. I could not solve the problem in Safe Mode. I see a folder called c:Windows.old, and the properties show it takes 15 gigabytes. I tried deleting this folder by putting a shortcut to explore.exe on the desktop and running as administrator, but it runs to a point and then says I don't have permission. I assume this folder exists because I had to reinstall Windows.

Windows.old Folder Won't Delete

May 12, 2011

All went well and I feel my computer is working better now than it ever did. I did add a new asus mother board, a quad core processor 3.27, doubled the Ram, and put in a blue ray burner. After the upgrade was completed I waited for almost a week to make sure all was working well and then set out to delete the windows. old file. I did as was suggested and did it through disk cleanup. All looked like it was cleaned until I went into my C drive and see that the Windows.old folder is still there. I can't delete it. I shows that it does the files do not exist on C: windows.old but the file is still there. There are three folder but nothing in any of the folders. How can I delete the foler windows.old. I've tried everything suggested but can't seem to find a way. I even went into the registry but can't find anything.

Unable To Delete Folder

Nov 1, 2010

Recently I did a fresh install of Windows 7 Ultimate (not an upgrade). It's a hard drive that had already had Win 7 Ultimate on it, but I had run into some snafus, so I just re-installed fresh. As you probably already know, Windows 7 detects previous Windows installations and puts it into a folder called "Windows.old". After my new installation was done, this Windows.old folder was pretty big, around 25 gigabytes. From some searching I did, I found out about using Disk Cleanup, and you put a checkmark in the box for Previous Windows installations, and then let the program run its course.

Cannot Delete A Public Folder

Oct 14, 2012

I installed a Western Digital MyBook Duo NAS storage drive. When I was having some problems I reinstalled the software and have ended up with two public drives referencing the MyBook, and they are :-

Public(\MyBookLiveDuo) (X)
Public(\MyBookLiveDuo) (Z)

There is no option to delete either of the drives if I right click on the drive in Windows Explorer, just a Disconnect option. I have not been able to work out how to delete one of them and retain the other.

Can anyone suggest how I might be able to delete one of these pointers to my MyBook?
