Do Not See Display Language In Keyboards Languages Tab
I recently purchased a laptop and it comes with Windows 7 Professional (64bit). However, in the control panel (language and region settings), in the Keyboards and Languages tab, I only see "Keyboards and other languages" sub-tab but not the "display language" one. How do I get it to appear?

Keyboards And 7057 (orbit30)
Finally got windows 7 installed after about an hour, then after all the restarts and boots, finally logs in... and i find that although my usb mouse is working fine, my Windows Multimedia Keyboard isn't working at all. I tried installing the 7 beta of intellitype but no difference. Also after restarting Windows 7 it now gets stuck at the boot logo... seems like i should download and install either 7077 or just go back to 7000..

XP To 7 Upgrade - Different Languages
My wife has a HP Pavillion notebook with Windows XP in Brazilian Portuguese installed, and I'd like to upgrade it to 7. But when I tried to install 7 over XP, I received a message saying that it isn't possible, once the upgrade may be done only in a system with the same language - in case, the install disc I used is in English. Does somebody know some workaround to it? I don't wanna do a fresh install because if I loose a simple document I'll sleep with the dog till the end of my days.

Switch Input Languages Issue On Windows Virtual PC
I have created a Windows 7 (guest) installation on Windows Virtual PC.Both Windows 7 installations have several input languages installed and the same customized settings for switching between input languages:1. Ctrl+Shift, for switching between input languages2. Ctrl+1, Ctrl+2, etc. key sequences, to directly switch to a specific language. When I try to switch input language using the Ctrl+n key sequence while the virtualized application is in focus (or even when in "Virtual PC" mode), the guest's input language does not change. However, using the Ctrl+Shift key sequence to switch between input language works correctly.Has anyone else noticed or resolved this?

Disabling Alt + Tab Screen?
I've been trying for hours now to disable the alt+tab screen. I want to record a sequence of keystrokes, I want to be able to record ctrl+alt+tab, but whenever I press the keys, the alt-tab screen comes up so the buttons won't get recorded. I also have to record them in the actual order, I can't move them around so basically: I need to be able to press ctrl+alt+tab without bringing up the swtich screen. I need to record theese keys in order. Is there something I can change, maybe in the registry? Is it possible to change the hotkeys in windows? So that ctrl+alt+tab does nothing, and then switch it back after I've recorded the keystrokes?

This Tab Has Been Recovered + Extra Program
I have IE8 on a computer with XP. Everytime I launch IE, another application starts up which in Task Manager shows up as a window icon with "-x" after it. If I end this task, a moment later I get the "This tab has been recovered" ( on my Google home page) error and the application reinstates itself. I've checked all the add-ons and disabled all those that I don't need or use. I have Trend Micro antivirus and after a system scan it says my system is clean. I've also deleted and reloaded IE8. Any ideas on what this can be?

Virtual PC Tab Key Problems
I am using Windows 7 Professional. I am running Virtual PC ver 6.0.192.0 with XP sp3 installed. I am having problems keeping the tab key working in my VPC session. I ahve added the VPCKeyboard.dll to the list of additional rules in the Local Security Policy. I am not using the variable %appdata% path, it's c:... When I first start VPC it works fine. But after a while it stops working. In VPC I use remote desktop to connect to a work computer. I use VPC in full screen mode, constantly going back and forth between full screen and my host PC using the right Alt Enter combination. It seems to happen when switching from full screen to window and back again. I had been on Vista Ultimate and never had a problem.

Window Switcher Instead Of Alt Tab
I'm thinking of replacing alt tab entirely with the 3-d version. The only downside I see is that you can't use just 1 alt-tab to quickly switch to your last active window. Is there another reason to use the old alt-tab other than personal preference? It is quite a thumb cramper to curl under extra far to hit the windows key, but other than that I love the new feature.

Alt+Tab Back Into Programs Causes Delay
Whenever I run games and set them as "run as administrator" via properties , I get a problem. First off this is my own home computer and i'm the main user with full control and what not. One particular game for example is world of warcraft. i've always been able to alt+ tab quickly back and forth. One day i checked the run as admin box in properties for the game.exe launcher file and i noticed immediately the delay. the delay only occurs when i alt tab back into Warcraft. Its still quick when i tab out. but the delay tabing back in can be from 10-25seconds. So naturally i unclicked the run as admin box but i still have this issue. for what its worth when i run warcraft in windowed mode i have no delay while alt tabbing. but i dont want to run in windowed bc it cuts back on my frames per second while i'm playing. Other games that run as admin have same issue. but only with warcraft do i have such a detailed situation especially with the variable that it alt tabed fast out and in instantly before the run as admin was started.

TAB Is Missing From The Add Printer After Update
I installed an application called  VirtualCD and afterward the "Windows Update" TAB is missing from the add printer Window where it would allow searching for other drivers via Windows update. Can anyone suggest anything that would lead me in the right direction to find what was altered by this application? I confirmed that it is this application by doing a reinstall of Windows 7 on another partition and only installed that app. It occurs with both 32 and 64 bit installs.

Tab And Esc Keys Stop Working
I'm running Windows 7 Build 7000 as host and Virtual PC 2007 SP1 with Windows Server 2008 SP1 as guest. After running the guest for a while, the Tab and Esc keys stop working, and sometimes also mouse clicking. The only way to resolve the problem is to shutdown the guest and restart the Virtual PC process. I've tried the trick described below using a software policy for vpckeyboard.dll, but it does not seem to work. http://www.eggheadcafe.com/conversation.aspx?messageid=34132725&threadid=33837662
