I know the wifi in the laptop works, i know the laptop has no issues.I know this because i switched my hard drive from my 1330 to this laptop which is also a 1330...connects and works fine.Wifi IS turned on
In device manager the driver is ok no exclamation marks anywhere When i try and connect with the ethernet i get identifying no network access, then it says currently connected to unidentified network, no network access! You cannot browse. So that being said it must be in the setting with windows 7.I uninstalled and reinstalled the wifi driver it did not make any difference.I also tried using a ethernet connection and it would not connect either. When i use the win 7 trubleshooter it states a network cable is not properly plugged in or may be broken.Remeber this laptop functions fine with my hard drive in it with windows xp.
how to connect wifi with dell vostro 1015 laptop. i dont no if that have inbuild wifi or not. if it is inbuild means how i connect the wifi with my dell laptop. what i can do for that
I'm visiting my parents for the summer and I brought my laptop with me and the wireless was working fine for the first month or so. One random day it stopped working and will not connect. I called dell support and for some reason it just started working when I was on the phone with him, but for the next couple of days it would connect for awhile then not connect 15 minutes later. It's not the router because it won't connect to other networks, the dell support guy says its not the hardware (everything in the device manager says its fine also), It works when the ethernet cable is plugged in, I installed all the latest drivers for the network adapter (Intel Wifi link 1000 BGN), I installed a registry fix program and for a little bit it was working with some networks, but only limited access.
I've been away from the PC world for the past few years because I've been running a Mac.I decided to get back into some gaming on picked up a Dell XPS desktop running windows 7 ultimate x64.I bought a Asus USB N10 Wifi Adapter and it won't connect to the internet. It gets a limited activity logo over top of the connection. Today I tried plugging it rite into the router with a LAN cable and still, no dice. Came up with an IP address error.I'm guessing this is a router issue? When i run ipconfig in cmd prompt, it doesn't even have a default gateway?
I just recently bought an Acer Aspire 5250 fro rent a center and for a while I was able to connect to Wifi, but I can't anymore. i have barely downloaded anything or installed anything, so that can't be it, I've googled this problem and everything, i disabled the wireless adapter and re-enabled it and nothing happened. Any clue what DID happen? I'm currently connected to the internet with my Wireless card from my cell phone company.
Every one else is using a WiFi in my home except me.I don't know why.Whenever I'm trying to connect,I'm getting message,Windows was unable to connect.
I have checked in Network adapters option,My device is working properly. I was able to use if a day before or so but not now. I have to use Ethernet cable to use Internet now.
I've got a Dell work laptop. It has McAfee Safeboot and other work related security things. I don't have many "privileges" on the machine. It connects to my work wifi network just fine (automatically) but I can't get it to connect to any wifi networks outside of work. If go to network settings and look at the wireless adapter and view available wifi networks, nothing comes up. It looks like the laptop has an alternative program that controls network adapter (Dell network adapter program) but it won't open when I double click it.
I have a Dell Inspiron laptop that won't connect wirelessly to my network. ALL other devices in the house (iPhones, iPads, iMac, 1 laptop and another desktop) work fine, no problems. I've tested the laptop at my girlfriend's house using her wifi and still the same problem: Limited Access.
I've ran the troubleshoot, re-booted the router & laptop, checked device manager for any exclamation marks against any drivers (none), tried disabling/enabling the driver, checked for driver updates (none), done a system restore and uninstalled my antivirus software but all to no avail.
Edit: I've tried plugging in the ethernet cable which, although not particularly straight-forward, eventually works.
we have a laptop (Dell Inspiron 6400) that I cannot get hooked to internet.I am told that we need wifi USB and card.Okay - I have here a Linksys wireless G USB network adapter 2.4 GHZ and now what kind of card do I need?Or do I need both in order to hook to internet?
A few months ago I bought a new laptop after my desktop packed in and I can't get the laptop to connect to my LCD tv like I could with my old desktop, I'm guessing its a setting somewhere thats not quite right. Anyway, the laptop is a dell xps17 which has a 3gb geforce 555m graphics card. When I connect the laptop to my samsung 40" LCD 1080p tv (not a 3d tv) via hdmi cable, I get the background/wallpaper appear on the tv but none of the desktop icons etc. I've tried setting it as an additional monitor, tried duplicate & extend settings by pressing windows key+P but nothing seems to work, I've also tried lowering the resolution right down as the laptop runs at 1600x900.

My Dell Studio 15 laptop cannot connect to my home wireless router, by can connect to neighbor's or my friends's or hotels's wireless network. My IPad and another two Dell Inspiron 17 laptops can connect my home wireless router without problems.

I have a netgear wireless router upstairs. My dell laptop, my iMac (which is downstairs) and my iPad/iPhones all connect anywhere in the house. My Toshiba laptop and my work dell will not connect or it connects very intermittently. I can stay connected for days on other wifi networks, just not at home. Any ideas?
I do a lot of wifi hotspot testing over Teamviewer. When the hotspot doesn't work I lose the Teamviewer connection. Is there any way to make Windows connect to a specific network after about 60 seconds or so?
If I can choose the specific wifi network to make Windows to connect to after a set amount of time my life would be much easier!

Until yesterday morning I had a good wifi signal. We are in France and run on Nordnet Satellite Internet. However, now I have an exclamation mark on signal bar and no internet access. We are on Nordnet Satellite and I am running WIndows 7 on a Sony Vaio laptop. It is not the router as my husband's laptop is working fine with no connection problems. I can connect to internet by using cable but not wifi which is very inconvenient as I have to keep bringing the computer downstairs.Have done diagnostic check and error is: Windows cannot connect with the device or resource (primary DNS server)Computer also trying to connect by cellular profile (which is the O2 dongle that I use when I go to the UK). I keep getting the O2 box up asking me if I want to connect which it did (without the dongle inserted) but although it will bring up Google it won't connect to anything.I'm not very technical but have done the obvious things like system restore and checking the adaptor settings in Network and Sharing but just can't figure out what the problem is. If I try to set up a new connection it just keeps referring back to the cellular profile which is presumably for O2?
Running Windows 7 Home Premium on a netbook. Since yesterday get message "Windows cannot connect to wifi". Running checks suggests resetting the router, but two other devices, an IPad and an almost identical netbook are connected no problem. I havn't changed anything. It can see the router. Done normal reboots, disconnect reuse connect adapter etc. no luck. This has happened before on two other computers on different routers, and we don't know what eventually fixed it, although changing the encryption method might have solved one of them, even though that computer had been connecting for weeks before the failure. The only one of our family devices never to have experienced this is the IPad.
