Can I Install Win 7 X32 Bit Then Later To Win 7 X64 Bit With Same Licence Key ?
I currently run Windows XP x32 bit Operating System. I have ordered the "full retail" version of Windows 7. I understand that 2 discs will be enclosed in the box, one for installing Windows 7 x32 bit and the other for installing Windows 7 x64 bit. I understand that I need to choose whether I want the x32 bit or x64 bit Windows 7 Operating System and install the 1 I choose at that point. I am quite happy with that.Â
However, what I would like to do is initially install the Windows 7 x32 bit system and in about 6 months (when I have upgraded my hardware sufficiently) then move on to the x64 bit Windows 7 Operating System.  Can I do this with the same 1 licence that comes with the full retail version I have just ordered or will I need to buy another copy of Windows 7 ? It would not bother me if I had to do a "clean install" to move from x32 bit to x64 bit.

Will Product Key For Win 7 64 Bit Business Upgrade Work With 32 Bit Install
I purchased several copies of Windows7 including the upgrade offer deal from Microsoft for Business. The upgrade CD came as a 64 bit which I will eventually install on my machine, but for the next several months I need to run 32 bit (legacy software which we are phasing out). Will the product key for the the 64 bit upgrade work with 32 bit install (I have a 32 bit Business which I have already installed on a different machine with its own product key).

Upgrade From X32 Bit To X64 Bit
I have a Gateway computer running Windows Vista 32 bit which has all requirements now for x64 bit Windows 7. Is there anyone who can give me a direct answer if I can do a direct upgrade from Windows Vista 32 bit to Windows 7 64 bit? They are stating from Microsoft that both the 32 and 64 bit are included in the Windows 7 box. Even the Windows upgrade advisor states I have everything needed to run Windows 7 64 bit, but it does not state that I can use the Windows 7 64 bit software.

Will Student Win 7 Pro 32-bit Key Work For 64-bit Later ?
My niece, who's in college ordered and downloaded Windows 7 Professional (one 32-bit and one 64-bit) from win741.com (Microsoft/Digital River deal for students only). I'm going to be installing this on her laptop (currently on Vista 32-bit going to ---> 7 Pro 32-bit), and her desktop (currently on Vista 32-bit going to ---> 7 Pro 64-bit via a clean custom install) this weekend. I'm also upgrading her desktop to 8GB of RAM since she uses this for Photoshop 64-bit and needs the extra memory for the times when she has several RAW D-SLR files and files with multiple layers open. Hence, the reason why we're using 64-bit on that desktop. We stayed with 32-bit on the laptop because they have old printers at her college that don't have 64-bit drivers, so to save her the hassle of incompatible drivers, we stayed with 32-bit on her laptop since it only has 2 GB of RAM. My Question is: If she decides to upgrade her RAM on her laptop later to 6GB, can she then use the 64-bit Windows 7 Pro installation (clean install of course) files she downloaded for her Desktop PC, but still continue to use the key she was given when she ordered & downloaded the 32-bit version?  I know this is possible with the Family Pack which provides 32-bit and 64-bit install CDs and just one key. Is the same possible for the student $30 download deal she got?

Can I Use OEM Win 7 HP Product Key To Install 64-bit OS Off Of Retail Disc ?
I purchased in June a new computer from Dell with a free upgrade to Windows 7. Â I wanted 64-bit but was not given the option. Â I received my 32-bit upgrade disc from Dell. My brother purchased a retail upgrade and so he has both 32-bit and 64-bit upgrade discs. Â I know that I must do a clean install. Â I want to know if I can use his 64-bit disc to run my install but then use my upgrade key from Dell. So in the end I have 64-bit OS using my product key that Dell gave me.

Can I Install Win 7 32-bit On 64-bit Capable Hardware ?
I have two new computers running Vista Home Premium 64-bit. I discovered that Vista 64-bit doesn't support some old 16-bit programs; while these old programs are supported in Vista 32-bit. I need the compatibility with older applications more than speed, so, Can I install Windows 7 32-bit on my 64-bit capable hardware? Can I do an upgrade, or must I save and do a new install? Or, please make me happy and tell me Windows 7 64-bit has the same support for ancient 16-bit applications as exists in Vista 32-bit.

Install 32 Bit Win 7 On 64 Bit Hardware
I'm running 32 bit XP on a machine that I believe is actually 64 bit, but I don't want to deal with all this Program Files (x86) nonsense. It doesn't have enough ram to need a 64 bit OS, and if I get more I can always reinstall. Since Windows 7 will have both bitnesses on one disk, will it be possible to install the 32 bit version on a 64 bit system?

X32 Programs Not Starting In Win 7 X64
Going about my second install of windows 7, last time all programs running under x32 were locking up, This install everything went ok till about two hours later and its doing it again. IE x64 will run but not firefox, winamp, or even trying to play a CD, they just show up in the task manager and never pop up. Bois & chipset are up to date, I'm running windows 7 ultimate x64 on a ASUS P5N72-T Premium. No custom installs were done on windows, I've had no problems with previous versions of win 7 RC or Beta. Any suggentions on what to look at next. UAC controls are on the lowest settings, tried running programs under admin and no difference. HD was wiped clean on install..

Upgrading Win Vista HP 64 Bit To Win Ultimate 64 Bit
I'am trying to ugrade windows vista 64 bit home premium to windows 7 ulitimate. I chose the x64 option. but it still says. the following issues are preventing Windows from upgrading. Cancel the upgrade, complete each task, and then restart the upgrade to continue. You can’t upgrade 64-bit Windows to a 32-bit version of Windows. To upgrade, obtain a 64-bit version of the installation disc, or go online to see how to install Windows 7 and keep your files and settings. 32-bit Windows cannot be upgraded to a 64-bit version of Windows. To upgrade, obtain a 32-bit version of the Windows installation disc.

Dual Boot X64 - X32 Same Key Code
Made the leap to Windows7 x64 and need to tap the collective knowledge base. I'm currently triple booting Windows7 x64, Windows 7 RC1 and XP Pro using the BIOS (all on separate HDs). As Windows 7 RC is set to cease functioning soon, can I install Windows7 x32 on the same machine as Windows7 x64? My concern is with the licensing and whether I will receive updates for both x32 and x64. I'd heard that you will only receive automatic updates on the most recently installed version. Can anyone confirm this? This wouldn't be the end of the world, but having just finished installing all of my applications in x64, it would be a major inconvenience. If it does effect the auto updates, can those updates be downloaded manually? I saw this thread, but I'm guessing it's installing the same version (x64 & x64 or x32 & x32) Dual Boot Win 7 & Win 7 I've grown to appreciate a dual/ multi -boot machine. It allows me to test software trials and decide whether I like them before purchasing and installing them on my main OS (Windows 7 x64). This keeps the registry for Windows 7 x64 cleaner and I don't have to worry about residual registry entries or files after uninstalling. It's a fantastic way to test things out. Additionally, I've run into a problem where an application works fine in Windows 7 RC x32 but will not install in x64. I know about Windows 7 Pro having an XP mode, but is it worth the hassle and additional cost to upgrade to Pro? Re-booting to XP or RC1 is time consuming but easy. Is it possible to have XP mode running in the background and switch back and forth between them without having to close XP mode?

Revert Back To Win 7 64 Bit From Win 7 32 Bit
Problem Description: I was using Windows 7 (64 bit) and having difficulty operating some CS4 applications even when I changed the compatibility settings. I decided to clean install the 32 bit version of Windows 7 to see if this would remedy the problem. I had purchased the Windows 7 Professional package so both discs were available to me. The CS4 situation did not improve. However I am not concerned with the CS4 issue at present what I would like to do is revert back to Windows 7 (64 bit) and I don't know how. I went from Vista Ultimate to Windows 7 (64 bit) to Windows 7 (32 bit) and now I want to go back to Windows 7(64 bit) is this possible.

Win 7 64 Bit Cannot Print To 32 Bit XP Shared HP820 CSE Printer

Bidirectional printing is not enabled Network is cabled (not wireless) Computers see each and can share files and folders Print sharing is enabed File sharing is enabled

Install A Win 7 64-bit On D Drive
How does one install a new program (Windows 7 64-bit) on the D drive? Dell formatted the hard drive with a C and D partition, though by default everything goes to C. C is almost full, and D drive is in fact the larger of the two partitions. How does one install new programs to the D drive so as to not have C fill up?? I have Windows 7 64-bit, so doe I need two program folders on the D drive?? That is, one called "Program Files" and the other called "Programs Files (x86)"??? How do I make those folders on D?? On C Drive the folders in which programs are installed have SPECIAL permissions!!! Dell tech support will not answer this even though Dell sold me the laptop with two partitions of the hard drive. NO clue why Dell does that. Under Windows 7, the D drive is not labelled a Recovery Drive, and it is a bigger partition than the C Drive.

Bsod: Installing Win 7 64 Bit From Vista 64 Bit
Just finished trying to reinstall this for the third time. Somone suggested to remove all antivirus & mal-ware programs before the install as this might prevent registry edits. So I did, and still got the BSOD. Now everything is installed again for Vista. Not sure how to find the BSOD error as I have only seen it once. Every other time I walk into the room, my comp starts into Vista with a message saying that this computer is incompatable with Windows 7 and your previous version of Windows has been installed.Guess the bugs aren't fixed.

Win 7 64 Bit XP Mode And A Printer With 32 Bit Drivers
Hoping that Win 7 and XP mode will solve this problem: A while back i installed Vista 64 on my gaming system and upon installing my printer (Konica Minolta Page pro 1350w) I found out that there were drivers for it, Konica Minolta won't make 64bit drivers for it and trying to use Generic or similar Konica Minolta modiels with 64bit drivers hasn't worked for me. I have found some who have had success (but they are sharing through a another PC) I have it connected to a USR Router with a Built in usb Print server. I need to keep it this way to maintain its usage. But the question is can I install XP Mode on a 64bit Win 7 setup and use this printer this way?
