Black Screen Installation On Xp Samsung Nc10 Netbook
Windows 7 successfully installed on my netbook and I continued to download software. Some software required restart so I restarted the netbook. When It rebooted I noticed the xp loading bar b4 it brought me to the windows 7 login in screen. I typed in my password as normal but when it entered windows seven there was a black screen with windows build on the rh corner.
I am operating windows 7 on safe mode but the normal windows seven will not work. I have tried altering settings on msconfig.exe but i have found no solution.Should I reinstall the windows 7 or is there an alternative solution?

Installation Screen Becomes Black
Good night, I try of intaller Windows 7 x86 or x64 and every time in 2/3 of the installation the screen becomes black and I am obliged to reboot. After the upturn of Windows, this one asks me to start again the installation, I start again the installation and uninterrupted breakdown. This breakdown arrives at the kickoff of services.

3/4 Of Screen Black During Installation
3/4 of the screen blacks out when 7 is "finalizing installation", when it is installation drivers. How do I know it is installating drivers? The keyboard lights flash, the mouse becomes non-responsive ... etc. I have a ATi 2400 xt, if it helps. Not a major problem, maybe something to be looked into.

Black Screen With Installation
I am trying to do an upgrade with a computer I previously had Vista Ultimate on. I choose to do a clean install and formatted the hard drive with the 7 installer. The installation begins normally, but when it reboots and says "Starting Windows" a black screen comes up. I am able to see the mouse cursor and mode it, but nothing else occurs. The hard drive light comes on periodically, but nothing happens even if I leave it sitting for several hours. If I restart the computer, it gives me the option to start in safe mode, then says 7 can not load in safe mode and reboots to the same black screen. I have tried installing multiple times with the same result. I re-loaded Vista and tried to do an upgrade, but it tells me Vista Ultimate can not be upgraded to 7 Home Premium and I must do a clean install. The upgrade advisor told me I should have no issues and Vista ran fine. Any ideas what could be causing this black screen upon installation?

Black Screen Near The End Of Installation
I am currently using Vista Home Premium SP1, with a Nvidia GTX 295 and Intel Core i7 920. I purchased the Windows 7 Home Premium upgrade disc yesterday. Near the end of the installation it does one of its usual auto-restarts. After the Windows 7 loading screen finishes, all i can see is a black screen with a mouse pointer, thats it. Then if i restart it takes me to a screen that says "your upgrade failed, restoring your previous version of Windows". I have tried every hint i can find, 9 installs later, and still no closer to finishing.

Installation Hangs On Black Screen
I thought I'd move with the times and picked up a copy of Windows 7 Ultimate. I had Vista installed before. Booted from CD, delete/recreate partition and did a clean install. The installer hangs on a black screen after the first reboot. Even left it overnight without progress. Forcing a reboot and going into Safe Mode the setup tries to continue, then comes up with a prompt saying 'Setup cannot run in Safe mode, rebooting your computer', whereupon it hangs again. This is the sequence I tried: 1. Boot from CD, delete boot partition, new partition, clean install (HUNG) 2. Disconnect router, then as 1. (HANG) 3. Reset BIOS to factory defaults, then as 1. (HANG) 4. Disconnect external hard drive and printer, then as 1. (HANG) 5. Disabled on-board chips like sound, legacy USB etc, then as 1. (HANG) I've tried booting to the CD and doing a 'repair windows' but that comes back without problems. The only other thing I could think of is that the graphics card is incompatible... but I don't have onboard VGA and I don't have another card just lying around. I've never had a problem doing a clean Windows install. I'm really disappointed they're making it so difficult. Does anyone have any suggestions? I might have to just go back to Vista...

Win7 Installation Black Screen
I had windows XP on my computer and then installed windows 7 on it. Now when I open the computer it opens fine and you can see the windows 7 logo and everything. however then a black screen with a thin blue-green line on top comes up. Unlike other people, on my screen no cursor is seen. I tried the alt control delete thing and it had no effect. When i open the computer in safe mode it says installation cannot be completed in safe mode please restart the computer (something on those lines). What should I do? I don't mind if I don't have windows 7 on my computer I just need to use it but now I cant do anything with it or use it. I installed windows 7 on another computer and it worked fine. The computer that does not work fine is a Dell dimension E2501 computer. I also unplugged everything except the mouse, keyboard, and monitor from the computer. The thing i did not take out was this device installed inside my computer that gave the computer wi fi capabilities but i dont think this caused anything.

Installation Complete - But Black Screen
the installation of Windows 7 worked fine, no problems or errors at all during installation process. After final reboot the systems fully starts up, but all I see, is a black screen with an information in the lower right corner on top of screen which reads 'windows 7 beta Version 7000' (or similiar). And nothing works no click or keypress gives any reaction. The only function is to press the power-button for a while. During the next bootup, windows 7 reads, that I should shut down the correct way and offers to start in safe mode, which brings up just the same issue - black screen... I tried 32-bit and 64-bit beta on Asus-P5n-D, E8500 (no overclocking), 4 GB-RAM, 1TB HDD SATA, XFX-GTX260, Enermax-Power-Supply with 650W. Vista works fine on it, but no chance with Windows 7.I installed the same beta on an older System (AMD 64-3500), on this maschine Windows 7 works fine.Does anyone have an idea, what else I could trie?

Black Screen Before The Installation Is Going To Complete
I got a black screen when the installation is going to complete on the third boot. The installation runs perfectly except that after the screen flashes(maybe the system is setting up the video driver), the monitor receives no signal and the system halts. When I try to enter the installation again, only to be told that I failed to install Windows 7 and the system will rollback the installation for me. I am performing a clean install and using a nvidia MCP73 integrated video chipset, does that matter? For guys who are using nvidia integrated chipset, have you experienced the same issue? Is there any solutions?

Clean Installation Problems (Black Screen)
So i'm trying to do a clean install of windows 7 (x36) from XP that im currently running. i've burnt the iso down on a dvd and it boots fine and the installation runs normally. I'm getting through all the steps within the installation when it at last says something about that it's done and it's going to restart for the first use of windows 7. Now i'm getting my problem. The computer starts up and goes through the memory testing and such but just as it's about to start windows 7 i'm getting a black screen and my monitor says "No signal - blabla" and 3 seconds later it restarts itself. If i don't do anything now my computer loops this restarting on and on... So i've tried to install it with removing my two 512mb RAMS and only have two 1gb of the same brand. Didn't help.

Win7 Ultimate Incomplete Installation With A Black Screen
I have a Vista Ultimate workstation. Before upgrading to windows 7 i ran the Windows 7 upgrade advisor with no error or additional requirnments. However, the upgrade failed only at the very last stage so I decided to do a fresh install, deleted and foratted the partition and then booting from the Win 7 DVD. At the end of the insallation, the machine rebooted, I saw the Windows 7 screen for a minute or less and then a black screen. It seems that the monitor went to a sleep mode.I tried to do a cold boot, pressed F8 for a safe mode but the message i got was that I cannot use safe mode until Windows 7 installation is complete.I started all over again with a fresh install and after getting the black screen, waited for an hour just in case, to allow the installation to (perhaps) complete...same issue. The computer in use: Motherboard: Nvida nForce 680i SLI, intel core 2 6600 at 2.4 GHz. HD 300 GB. SATA controller: Nvidia nForce 590/570/550 SATA.Since i don't see any error throughout the installation, i am not sure what went wrong. is it the video driver ?

Virtual High Res Screen For Low Res Netbook
I recently bought a netbook (ASUS N10J) which supports a maximum resolution of 1024x600. I have installed windows 7 on it and it runs pretty well however i have one issue... Sometimes when you have a window open it will be too big to fit on the screen and cant see the buttons at the bottom. I know you can get multiple desktops but what i would like is multiple desktops that run onto each other so if a window on desktop 1 goes off screen the bit off screen would appear on a desktop 2. Hopefully that makes at least some sense Does anyone know of any application or option ive missed that will let you do it?

Post Is Fine Then Black Screen After Windows Start Screen
After a fresh install of Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit everything is great until I shut it down. When I turn it back on the boot is normal until just after the startup screen then the Monitor goes black and into sleep mode while the PC seems to continue on. It doesn't do it all of the time. I have loaded all the latest drivers for Win 7 for all the hardware I have. I post mentioned the CRT Monitor had to be shut down for and hour then he could see the windows screen. He also said the LCD monitor was fine. So, is this the fix? a new Monitor? or is there some setting I can adjust to get past the black/sleep screen issue?

Video Games Black Screen That Crashes While In Full Screen
All the games I had when I used Windows Vista were playable. Now with Windows 7, whenever any of my games starts in full screen mode, my monitor turns black and does nothing else. The monitor still detects my computer because the monitor gave me no error of a missing input. I cannot alt+tab or Ctrl+Alt+Del or even WindowsLogo+Tab and I am forced to cut the power and restart. After long tiring research giving me such suspects like DirectX 11, disabling Aero, to the all popular lacking computer requirements to play the game I could play before I installed Windows 7. My conclusion was I could play games as long as there are not in full screen mode or in other words Windowed Mode. Why must I play all my games in Windowed Mode to play them on Windows 7? Is there a way to fix this problem? I have already tried to play a few games in compatibility mode and it does not change anything.

Black Screen After Coming Out Of Screen Saver
I have a lenovo X61 which I removed all partions of and installed W7U x64. downloaded the lenovo update utility and the combination of lenovo auto download and windows update installed all necessary drivers. Machine was working beautifully for at least 4 weeks. Then once I was working without the power plugged with over 50% of charge left. Went away for a while came back and the machine was I assume in blank screen saver mode. I moved the point tracker, typed some keys but the deep black screen would not go away. tried forcing to go into sleep by shutting the cover. that didn't work. Tried for force it into hibernation by pressing the power button once that didn't work. Hard reset it by pressing the power button until it went off.when rebooted it allowed me to login but Symantec NIS2010 gave me an error that it is was not activated although it was. I restarted the machine and this time it will not boot. Tried safe mode. No luck.I had to reinstall everything again 4 days ago.Yesterday again, I got the black screen when my laptop went into blank screen saver mode with no power connected to it.Hard reset was the only solution. This time I started up in Safe Mode then restarted and it is working fine. However, I do not want to risk going through the same issue again. We are configuring a volume mirror replication at work to recover faster if something happens again. But this is very troubling, time consuming and frustrating. any ideas what the issue might bet?
