How To Unlock A Toshiba Laptop Bios Password
Aug 7, 2012I bought this laptop from Best Buy around Nov 2009 and it is still in great shape. However, my pc was infected with spam and I changed the password but lost the paper I wrote it on. I took it to a specialist here in my office and he said that to fix it, he will have to break something and that scared the crap out of me so I told him not to fix it. I am about to start online classes soon and I do not want to buy a new laptop?

My second problems are since the hardisk does not have any OS install,i cannot update bios using regular method.I need to flash it using thumbdrive in dos,if anyone can show me step by step to update bios and how to create the bootable thumbdrive for this model
Flashing BIOS On Acer Extensa From Windows 7 64bit?
Jan 30, 2013I have an Acer Extensa 5620 laptop, which came with an Intel Core 2 Duo Merom T5250 processor (1.5GHz). I'm upgrading the CPU to a Core 2 Duo Penryn T8300 (2.4GHz). Did a bit of research beforehand to determine that my mothorboard supports it, and it does, but only if I upgrade my BIOS (PhoenixBIOS) from version 1.16 to 1.23 or later. So I downloaded the most recent version from Acer's website (Acer Europe - Service & Support, Drivers & Utilities, Downloads, Notebook, Extensa 5620), and got a .zip file containing the following files:
ACERACDC.EXE
CLB-135.bat
CLB-135.ROM
CLB-135.WPH
HFB135US.bld
phlash16.exe
[code]....
It seems there are several options in this download for flashing ones BIOS. The simplest one, from a bit of googling seems to be to run CLB-135.EXE as administrator from within windows. Before I do this though, I want to know if I've got everything right, since a failed flashing could brick my laptop.One thing that sets off alarm bells is that doing it this way uses the winflash32 utility. Although my laptop came with 32 bit Vista, I'm currently using 64 bit Windows 7. My question is: will this work? Or will I need to track down winflash64? Or, is this a terrible way to flash my BIOS and should I do something else completely?

Jun 6, 2012i got my acer aspire brand new,powered up installed my music and other ,replaced antivirus with my own ,removed the crapware ,then updated it after doing my 3 factory discs ,i then rebooted the system and on restart it would not boot up,i returned the laptop to shop who sent it away ,3 weeks later to be imformed it needed a bios update ,now how could this be on a brand new laptop.after roughley 6hrs use.

2. CmosPwd 5.0 does not work in Windows 7 64bit version.
3. The cmos coin battery seems located under the keyboard. It is difficult to move three latches locking it.

Apr 2, 2012My Acer Aspire 5820tz laptop will not work. The keyboard does not respond. The laptop sometimes goes to the Boot Manager when turned on, the boot manager flickers and is uncontrollable. Other times it gives off a loud violent beep sound. Once it went to login but the keyboard would not work so i could not login.
