Asus V9280 / Nvidia 8x AGP Video Card
Installed 32bit version on a generic Biostar MB with AMD 5600x2 and Asus V9280 8x AGP video card which worked fine in Vista and XP and was recognized on setup. There is a built in video but I have the AGP slot as first boot up choice. Win 7 sees the card as a generic VGA and won't accept the Vista 32 driver. I am using the Nvidia chipset driver for the Geforce FX5200 which is the chip on the card. Is there a better Win 7 driver for this card? I have installed this beta on four machines and this is only the second problem I have had with it.

Looking For A AGP Video Card
My other computer has no PCIe. So I'm looking for an AGP video card to handle just videos and images. Not for gaming. Whats the best deal can I get? I don't want to spend over $60 and I want to get my money's worth. Any suggestions? I also want it to support Aero. I was thinking of: Geforce FX 5500. But I have no idea how good it is. But it is in the price range.

Currently running 3.2ghz P4 with a radeon AGP 9200 128mb. 2g ram. 320HD Upgraded to Windows 7 ultimate and card still functions, But does not operate all Windows 7 features, specifically aero. I'm having a problem trying to find a AGP card with 1g mem and dual DVI that is FULLY compatible with Windows 7. Tried newegg, tigerdirect, and a few others. The cards are out there but many posts claim driver issues for 7, aero will not work issues, etc. Can someone please help.

AGP Card For Nvidia Or Ati
Given the choice of nvidia or ati chipsets, if you needed a supported AGP video card for W7, which would you use? Not looking for a one-off card, but one that fits within the nvidia or ati unified driver model and is supported (preferrably with inbox drivers).

3650 Agp Video Card Drivers
I had just installed a clean copy not an upgrade copy windows 7, the "Ati Radoen hd 3650 agp video card" and the version 9.11 catalyst software that came with it. However when I rebooted the display was so distorted that I had to reinstall my original video card to make my comp usable. I have spent the past few days searching for updated drives or a fix for windows 7 without any luck. Does anyone know when and were the drives for this card will become available or a way to make it functional until there are.

ATI 3650 AGP Video Card Driver Install Problems
I'm having issues installing drivers for my ATI 3650 AGP video card. Â The ATI installer acts as though it is working but does not prompt to restart the computer when it is finished. Â When I do so manually the driver doesn't show up when I check the properties for the card, just the prepackaged 7 vga driver. I've tried the 7 preview drivers, Vista 32, and Vista 32 Hotfix drivers and all had the same resuslts of the installer finishing the install without actually installing the drivers.

Choosing An NVidia Video Card For Windows 7
I upgraded my XP system ( IBM 8291-E2U) to Windows 7 yesterday, knowing the video adapter on my motherboard was not fully Windows 7 compliant. My HP w2207 monitor's optimal resolution is 1068 x 1050 @ 60 ghz. The video card I am considering is an : NVIDIA GeForce 8400 GS 512MB DDR2 PCI Express Graphics Card My concern is that this may not work with my mother board which is : *Chipset*Intel i915G/GV/GL/P/PL/i910GL Can someone comment as to the viability of this card and give me a process to follow from install to operation -- i.e. how to disable VGA and when ?

PCI-E Nvidia Video Card Installation Failure
Has anyone been able to install windows 7 RC1 (32 or 64 bit) from scratch with their PCI-E Nvidia video card installed.I always have an stop x00000124 BSOD.The only remedy is to use my onboard VGA, however, this does not support my primary use as a HTPC.I have tried installing older nvidia drivers once RC has been installed with only onboard VGA, which still results in more BSODs.Has Microsoft acknowledged an issue here? I would love to get this working properly but to no avail so far.

NVidia Quadro FX 570m Video Card Issue
My video card [nVidia Quadro FX 570m (I think)] is not being recognized by Windows 7 RC. In the device manager, it says that I have a "Standard VGA Graphics Adapter" rather than the name of the card. I used this card with the Windows 7 beta and it worked flawlessly. I had to manually download the correct drivers from nvidia as their automatic detector couldn't see the videocard-- when I tried to install them, again the drivers couldn't recognize the card. The drivers I downloaded were specifically made for Windows 7. I saw a few threads that suggested I run the installers in vista compatibility mode, so, even though it's pretty absurd to install windows 7 drivers on windows 7 using vista compatibility mode, I tried and lo and behold it didn't work. I then tried using the device manager to manually point to the nvidia drivers and it didn't work. I am stumped. UPDATE 7/28 3 PM: I tried another fresh install just for fun and I'm having the same problem, however this time around, I went to nvidia.com before installing any updates or drivers and it was able to detect my videocard and point me to the proper drivers. I got the same problem during installation though. "nVidia couldn't find any drivers for you hardware" or something like that. In addition to this problem, I discovered this morning that my laptop was super hot and had not properly hibernated last night, it was hung on a black screen with a flashing underscore like a command prompt. I also cannot put the computer to sleep: it is either shut down or hibernating, windows does not give me the option for sleep. edit: I'd also like to stress that I had none of these problems with the beta, this is only with the RC...

Stop Error X124 With AGP Nvidia Cards
As a result of the large amounts of people that experience the x124 error due to AGP Nvida graphics cards, will Microsoft be releasing any updates or making an RC 2 available for beta for those that love Windows 7 and want to test it before release date? I personally think it's the best OS Microsoft has released to date for client machines. I have the 32 bit version of 7100 on another machine and I love it but I would like to test out the 64 bit without pulling my graphics card.

Cannot Install Win 7 With AGP Card In PC
Card in question is an HIS Radeon HD 4650 AGP 1G DDR3. Windows 7 BSOD when attempting to boot into OS after installation (never gets to setting up user). I know the card is the problem because it installed fine using my older card (nvidea 7600 GS). My question is this: Is there a way to force windows 7 to use VGA mode when it installs and/or boots? Even after finishing the install with the old card, when I tried switching to the new card (uninstalled driver first), it again BSOD after the logo screen. Currently I am just using XP on the machine since that works fine, but it seems a shame to have Win7 Ultimate and not be able to use it. Any help would be appreciated.

AGP 6200 Card Issue
I know that my system is outdated compared to nowadays PCs but it is really sufficient for my humbled needs and it was working fine under XP but when I jumped to Windows 7, I found out that video performance is so poor in a strange way (same exact videos played great under windows XP) and after i did a lot of exhaustive goggling, I just came up with that the reason might lie in the combination of using a DX9 card under windows 7 (PS I'm using the latest 195.62 driver from nvidia). Can someone give the drivers that came up with windows vista 32 so that I try them on the hope that it can help with the performance issue. PS I use realplayer (and I tried different players but still same performance issue) and Klite codec pack

ATI HD 3850 AGP Graphics Card Causes Lockups
I'm testing the Windows 7 beta and I'm having problems with my graphics card, system hard freezes and requires pressing reset button to continue. Upon reboot, if I disable graphics driver and run in vga mode these hard freezes no longer occur. But the trade-off is that I have no 3d accelleration, can't play any games. I have tried ati's catalyst 8.x for vista and 9.x for vista as well as the beta release for Win 7, all drivers load and appear to work but system will freeze when 3d acceleration occurs, ie when games load. I have a mobile hard drive tray installed to easily switch out hard drives and this only occurs when using the Windows 7 installation, I also have Win xp and and Win 2000 on other hard drives and the graphics work properly with the other systems(same configuration just different os with their respective drivers). I can't help but think it is a driver issue with win 7 and my graphics card. Below is detail from the dxdiag report. Any discussion as to why this is happening.

Optimize Performance Of Grafx On A GeForce 6200 AGP 8X Card
I'm running Windows 7 ultimate on an Asus A7n8X-E deluxe + AMD Athlon 2600+ Barton core + 1.5 GB DDR memeory + XFX Geforce 6200 AGP card with 256 MB DDR memory with stock core and memory speed. I'm using the Aero interface because of the benefits and improvements I have in taskbar but I turned off some of the fancy things like "transparency" and few other options which I do not need in order to speed up my overall video/grafx performance. My main problem is with playing videos. They play non-smoothly - this happens with all video formats and i can tell because the cpu is almost 100% when playing videos. I know that lots of you 'll tell me to upgrade my machine but unfortunately I'm stuck with these components for quite some time so I wish I seek help here on how to improve my video playback performance on this particular card I have because the rest of my hardware are adequate for my needs (browsing, surfing, office applications...etc) but also I need video playback so much. P.S. I'm using Real Player Gold 1.0.5 (and i also tried WMP12 but still same chopping issues) + k-lite codec pack + quick time lite I really 'll appreciate all your kind ideas in order to get the most out of my hardware in order to achieve better/smoother video playbackMaged
