Aion Gameguard Error 170
I have Win 7 64 RC and reinstalled both the N. American Closed Beta Client and the Chinese Client for Aion by NCsoft well they installed without a hitch but when I go to actually launch the game I get this "gameguard error 170".
Well I scowered the net and found only one solution which involved Dloadn a GameGuard Folder from a game that does work on Win7 and deleting the current GGfolder and replacing it with the new GG Folder along with a different GG.des file and running the game in Administrator mode. Well I did all of that and at first I thought it would work as it would start to dload new files and patch not only GG but also Aion but alas I get gameguard error 114. If I try again I get "gameguard error 170". I have emailed Game Guard and have yet to recieve a response.

Aion: Tower Of Eternity Crashes / Causes BSOD
Okay. Basically the error happens within minutes of logging into the game. The application either locks up and renders everything useless or it causes a BSOD(error states that a required windows service ended or was shut down) Anyone know how to fix this?

Games With GameGuard Compatibility
Has anyone else had these problem? Games with gameguard seem to not work anymore. I heard it is because the program uses a rootkit in order to gain control of the system to stop people from using hacks/etc in games. It doesn't work because Windows 7 does not allow these kind of hooks onto certain dll's. Is there a way to stop this function from happening in Windows 7? Which service should I stop in order for me to run the game without Windows 7 blocking the application?

NProtect GameGuard Compatibility
Well, I recently burned 7057 and gave the CD to my friend to try out Windows 7 (dropping the bait) =P and although he seemed quite satified with this "improved Vista", he found it very troubling how he was unable to play some of the games that he loved. Currently, nProtect GameGuard by INCA Internet is used by many game companies to "attempt" to stop or lower hacking rates. However, GameGuard is NOT yet compatible with Windows 7 and unless Microsoft or INCA Internet resolve this incompatibility, the number of users moving to Windows 7 may decrease by quite a bit. If you search up "gameguard windows 7" on google, you'll be surprised how many threads were made on just this one issue.

Intermittent Network Error, Shared Folders Disconnect, Error Code: 0x80070035.
This has been happening on all installations of 7 beta and RC, on 32bit and 64bit. By the time click Diagnose, network has reconnected and diagnose finds no problem. Happens when shared folders from other computer are open in this computer. Assume internet is affected, but this has been difficult to test. There are no logs at time of error. Homegroup connections, either setting makes no difference. Network discovery and file sharing On, Password protected sharing Off. Computer has been Named, and Workgroup has local workgroup name. Turned off Windows Firewall and Defender, separately. Have reset router to factory defaults. Power management on or off, no difference. Not happen on networked Vista. Installed another 7 in dual boot, did not install any third party anything, but network error still there.

Stop Error X00000024 After Using Win7 X64 Disk Error Checking
As a techy neat freak I always like to make sure any clean installs are well organized, up to date and uncorrupted, so I always run defrag and Disk Error checking after the OS is setup, is conservatively OC'd and running stable. This win7 64 system was running very well; clean, quick, with no obvious glitches.            I have installed Win 7 32bit twice and 64 bit once and on each install after all drivers and updates were installed and defragged I ran disk-error check. On each occasion the install was damaged to the point that fixing the MBR had no effect and the RAID0 array needed to be sanitized and thoroughly reformatted before a reinstall could be accomplished. I tried running this third error-check by only selecting the system file check and not scanning for any bad sectors on the hard drive but the damage appears to have occurred in the same way. Is this well developed and valuable Microsoft Windows utility poorly adapted to the new OS? It is clear that running this utility is the cause of the resultant x00000024 Stop Error as no other programs were active at the time. Any advice other than "don't use disk-error checking" ?

Error Initializing Application Error: Authentication Failed Number: 2147217843
Error Initializing Application. Error: Authentication Failed Number: - 2147217843  Trying to install an App for testing in Windows 7.. this is a front end app that connects to access/sql databases to query information. There are several standalone components to the app such as a security console, and an administration console... all will run if I point it to the proper config ini file.  The app uses 3rd party MapInfo runtime software (ver 8.5 - installed to program files/mapinfo) Other software components are installed to a separate prog files location as well as prog filescommon files, the environmental variable temp folder, and a 3rd data folder where maps and copies of the security database, a meta database licensing and other system app files that are written to. Things ive checked - granting read write modify access to 'everyone' on all needed locations, installing to c: rather than program files, unregistering and reregistering all dll and ocx files via a bat I wrote.. The access Db versions are automatically upgraded upon startup of this app, however it doesn't seem to make it to this process. I tried installing MDAC_typ.exe but it doesnt appear to be working. I played around with installing different versions of .net framework, although i doubt this would do anything. I am able to ODBC to the datasource. I tried this stipulating that maybe the program was having issues creating a connection with the local database file. Ive tried running this in several compatability modes, and as administrator by both right click and file properties menu... Ive turned off User Account Control notifications as well.

Setup Experienced An Unexpected Error - Error Code: 0x0
I have bought Windows 7 to upgrade from Vista Home Premium. I am on SP1 etc and sounds like everything should be fine for the upgrade. However, when running the install I get the following error Windows Setup experienced an unexpected error - Error Code: 0x0 I have hunted forums etc and the suggestion is to Disable DMA. When I follow the following steps. 1. Device Manager 2. Expand IDE ATA/ATAPA contollers 3. Click on Advanced Settings tab for IDE Channel At this stage there is nothing, simply states 2 Supported Devces. The Devices are not listed and therefore no Enable DMA checkbox. I have seen other suggestions regarding Intel Application Accelerator and uninstalling this. However, I am unable to determine if this is installed.

I recieve the above error message repeatedly using both Win 7 x32 and x64 installations for a while now. It was working initially and stopped updating recently. How often should this happen? How long should it persist? The error message is misleading: How do I contact the service provider? I'm trying to get the listings for OTA television in the Chicago, IL area.

AddPrinter Error On Win 7 - Error Code: 1003
I tried to install my printer driver to Windows 7 (Build 6801), but the install processed was failed. The printer driver is a Type 3 - user mode printer driver. It works correctly on Windows Vista and XP. The port, port monitor and driver are created; I checked them at the Print Server Properties dialog. But the printer itself is not created. The AddPrinter Windows API function returns 1003 error code (Cannot complete this function.). The same code is working flawlessly on Windows Vista or Windows XP. What cause this error?

Download Manager Error / The Server Returned An Error
I keep getting "The server returned an error. Would you like to retry?" without fail on both the 32 and 64 bit downloads. Any heads up on guidance? Is this a server issue? It's continued behavior from at least yesterday. Environment is XP x64 through IE. If you select yes, download manager immediately says connecting, initializing (with a connection rate), and then errors out all within about a second. Download b/w is >8M connection (just to point out it's not timing out from a dialup connection or anything).

BEX Error / APPCRASH Error / Task Manager
I am getting this error (either BEX error or the APPCRASH error - one among the 2) ever since i remember after installing Windows 7 on my system. Though there are NO viruses or malwares or spywares in my system, i still get this error. All other applications run smoothly including all my web browsers. At times, some games give me APPCRASH error though. I checked everywhere on the net including the threads here, but wasn't successful in removing my error. Also, when i send the error report online, it has no effect! It just says that the task manager has stopped working & QUITS!!! It's driving me crazy. Any suggestions or tips anyone so that i can use my 'Default' Task manager (I don't want to install extra Task manager s/w).
