ATI Mobility Xpress 200M Drivers Not Working Properly

I have an Acer Aspire 3650 laptop with an ATI Mobility Xpress 200M integrated video card. When Windows 7 automatically update the video drivers and reboot the system, I don't get video signal. I can connect my laptop to a LCD screen and get video, but at a very high resolution (something about 1440x???)

so I guess the drivers set my screen resolution too high to get any image on my screen. I tried changing the resoltion using that LCD screen but even setting it to 800x600 doesn't make my laptop screen to work. BTW, ATI beta drivers package doesn't seem to work...
Any ideas?

ATI Radeon Xpress 200M Drivers
I have a Toshiba Satellite M50 laptop and am running Windows 7 Ultimate, and have the ATI Radeon Xpress 200M graphics card. I used the initial 8.31 Vista driver and upgraded to the 8.561 beta driver for Windows 7, through the Microsoft Update Catalog. As this is now a legacy card, I have downloaded and tried the 8.671 driver (in the Catalyst 9.11 package) from the ATI website and this did not work, only installing updates to the CCC. I don't care about the Catalyst Control Center, and am only after the driver itself.

ATI Xpress 200M Chipset Drivers For 64 RC
I just installed the RC version of Win7 on my Laptop and discovered that in the transition from Beta to RC that I no longer have Graphics Drivers for my xpress 200m chipset.  It seems to me that the driver was available in the Beta, but is no longer available in the RC and support for this particular chipset has dropped off the scope of everone's radar.

Does someone (anyone, anywhere) know where a good version of the x64 driver might be obtained?  I've tried my manufactuers site (hp) and ati and looked through the list of drivers that came pre-installed with Win7 64 without any luck (I did find driver installations but none installed properly on Win7 64 RC).

ATI Xpress 200m Card Drivers Problem
I put win 7 RC on an old laptop of mine with an ATI xpress 200m card (running 32 bit, btw).

I found the driver needed here

http://catalog.update.microsoft.com/v7/site/Search.aspx?q=ati%20200m

which I extracted to local disk root and then proceeded with the manual driver installation for my display device. When I go to have disk, there are numerous (about 20) .inf files and all of them bring two options (both identical being " ATI Radeon Xpress Series") all of them come with this error though.

http://img11.imageshack.us/img11/692/capturednp.jpg

My hardware ID's are:-

PCIVEN_1002&DEV_5A62&SUBSYS_FF101179&Rev_00
PCIVEN_1002&DEV_5A62&SUBSYS_FF101179
PCIVEN_1002&DEV_5A62&CC_030000
PCIVEN_1002&DEV_5A62&CC_0300

and compatibility ID's

PCIVEN_1002&DEV_5A62&REV_00
PCIVEN_1002&DEV_5A62
PCIVEN_1002&CC_030000
PCIVEN_1002&CC_0300
PCIVEN_1002
PCICC_030000
PCICC_0300

I read somewhere a similar question and said that CL_73153.inf was the one I wanted, but it is the same as all the others and lead to the same error.

EDIT: it is said that having NET framework 2.0 as well as adding the RunOnce registry would sovle this error, however Win7 RC come with this preinstalled so this is obviously not the solution.

Update Error Installing ATI Radeon Xpress 200M Drivers
I just installed Windows 7 RC on my HP Pavilion zv6000.  Windows Update finds an update for the driver:  "ATI Technologies Inc. driver update for ATI MOBILITY RADEON XPRESS 200".  The laptop has an ATI Radeon Xpress 200M, so this sounds correct.

When I click the "Install Updates" button, it appears to download the update, and I assume this is working as the percentage download goes into the 90% range.  However, it then immediately displays a red shield with an X, saying some updates were not installed.  "Error(s) found: Code 80200053  Windows Update encountered an unknown error."

It also has a link to "Get help with this error" which displays the following:

0 results for "WindowsUpdate_80200053" "WindowsUpdate_dt000"

Updating Driver For Radeon Xpress 200m
i installed win 7 RC1 (32 bit) on my laptop a couple weeks ago..its been great, however i hit a bit of a snag now..

now when i installed it, windows got all my drivers and everything was fine, lately i decided to reinstall a game i usually played, and notice that it crashes once in a while.(screen goes fuzzy, then eventually get a BSOD)

i checked the driver in device manager it was an old version (from 2006)..now for the past hour ive been trying to update it to the newest version and nothing at all is happening, i downloaded the drivers from hp website (used the vista 32 bit drivers), tried installing it..nothing happens..got the drivers from ati's website, try installing them..and still it refuses to update my drivers

has this happened to anybody before? any ideas as to how i could get around it?

i also tried uninstalling the driver fully..then reinstalling the ati drivers manually, to no avail..to get the computer working properly again i had to manually make windows download an update to fix it..

Mobility Radeon Xpress 200 Graphics Driver
I just bought a new game, Viva Pinata, and tried playing it. After running the program, it tells me that i have an out of date graphics driver, and that i need the "Radeon Xpress 200" graphics driver. I went to the support website, and clicked on my type of windows (vista, 64-bit), then Radeon, and couldn't find it. What i need to know is, WHERE IS THE DRIVER? Does it go by another name, that is simplified? If you know, please help!

ATI Mobility Radeon 9600 GPU Drivers
FTR: I have the ATI Mobility Radeon 9600 GPU in my T42 ThinkPad laptop.  IBM/Lenovo does not provide any Vista drivers for this GPU.  Windows 7 does provide a driver, but I wanted to add the features of the ATI Catalyst Control Center.  This is on Windows 7, 32-bit, build 7000.

I downloaded the desktop ATI Radeon 9600 driver from ATI/AMD and downloaded Mobility Modder.NET.  I turned off UAC to mod the ATI driver and install it, then I turned UAC back on.  Everything seems to work fine.  If you decide to try this be sure and follow the instructions in the second link.

ATI Catalyst Control Panel For ATI Radeon Xpress 1100
Windows 7 is great by the way but I seem to be having one issue with gettin the ATI Control Panel to load.

I have tried using numerous versions, including Win XP 32bit/64bit, Vista 32bit/64bit and the Windows 7 32bit/64bit. Every time I install and finish the installation, I look for the control panel (typically in my programs) but does not show, I have also tried finding CCC.exe but it's not there apparently, I have also checked the ATI Technology folder within Program Files and it's empty? Seems quite unusual that it's not there but saying it's installed. I have tried reinstalling a few times and can't find a work around for it!

The driver is running fine but I do need the control panel!

Ati Driver For 200m Cannot Be Installed Because System Cannot Find File Specified
I have win 7 32bit

I tried the 8.561.0.0 version of the driver but the message system cannot find file specified appears. So I tried older driver versions (8.383.0.0) and yet the same message pops up. I tried to donload the catalyst driver centre for vista 32bit for my card and run the installer package in compatibility mode and as administrator. Installation process ends and looks as if the control centre was installed correctly but it did not. When I go to Ati folder on computer it is empty.

ATI Radeon Xpress 200 Issue
Okay so I just install windows 7 32bit(clean install, not upgrade) and it's not recognizing my graphics card. All it says is "Standard VGA adapter".

I've tried installing drivers but it never works and I also tried UN-installing the standard vga adapter via device manager too but it reinstalled itself.

Any solutions? Btw my graphics card is a ATI Radeon xpress 200. Way back when windows 7 was in beta and i was a beta tester everything worked fine.

ATI X1200 / Xpress 1150 Driver Problem
I've Win7 B7100 x32 (clean inst)

I've a ATI x1200 motherboard/integrated graphic card (says the manual).

Windows doesn't recognize it.

I've tried installing Catalyst 9.4, 9,3, 9.2 and 9.1.

The only one finding my graphic card is the 9.1 and it installs a driver för Xpress1150.

Fine! But every now and then my monitor says theres no signal and turns black. The only thing left to is to hard reset the computer.

It seems that its depending of what I am doing on the computer. If a leave it, it will work properly. But if a start some programs it won't be long before it happens.

ATI FireGL V5600 And X1900XT Drivers Not Working
I have two different ATI cards installed in one system, each with their own 22" HP LCD. One is an ATI FireGL V5600 for my CAD applications and the other is an X1900XT for Left4Dead. When I ran Windows Update after I installed Windows 7, it immediately downloaded an updated driver for the V5600 (8.623, I think) but when it installed it, it disabled the X1900XT.

I went to the Device Manager, uninstalled the X1900XT, then Scanned for Hardware Changes, it finds the X1900XT, installs the driver and it works again. Unfortunately, it also reverts the driver for the V5600 back to 8.56.1.15 which isn't even a valid driver for the V5600 as seen on this page .

I'm not sure why I can't have independent drivers for each card. I know for a fact that this is supported in XP as I have my system dual booting with XP and it work perfectly there (see photo 1 and photo 2 it's hard to tell, but both of those screenshots are from XP with each card having independent drivers).

The downside is that my CAD apps don't recognize the V5600 with driver 8.56.1.15 as the workstation card it is, and my graphics are severely crippled in those apps. I would like to report this to Microsoft, but unlike in RC1 there is no way to report a bug.

Blue Screen When Install ATI Radeon Xpress 200 Driver Update
I have, Dell Optiplex 320 NSeries Pentium D (BIOS 1.11.1). The Original Integrated Graphics Card is a ATI Radeon Xpress 200.

I bought a new graphics card ( ATI Radeon HD4350 - PCI X16) and install Windows 7 Build7100. After install, I update drivers from ATI using ( 9-5_vista32_win7_32_dd_ccc_wdm_enu ) and Works Fine too. After two days, Windows Update force the instalation of ( ATI Redeon Xpress Series - for disable Graphis Card), during instalation, Windows DUMP memory at BlueScreen of Death and reboot.

When I try to start Windows normaly, after windows Logo apear, Windows Reboot again. (If I run Windows Restore Option, work Fine until Xpress 200 driver auto install again, and problems occurs again).

Then I open Setup of Dell Optiplex, Select to use Integrated Graphics Card, change monitor cable to Ingrated Graphics Card, Save, and Windows Start normaly. But My Radeon HD 4350 No.

IF I try to Un-install by control panel Driver/Device Manager Xpress 200 Driver, and change BIOS again, Windows can´t start, still reboot on boot.

IF I try to Un-install Drivers for HD4350 and Xpress 200 and reboot, windows run normaly again using Radeon HD 4350, until Xpress 200 auto-install driver runs again...)

To mitigate this issue, I select on Windows Update to Not-install any update.

MY feeling that is a bug on Radeon Xpress 200 Driver (microsoft Update) or Windows Update when detect a disabled Graphics Card.

ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650 Driver
Seen a couple people having problems locating the driver for this. Let me know if these fail you.

- Download the attached file. Extract to somewhere simple, for example: C:DRIVERTEMP

- Run devmgmt.msc

- Expand (+) Display Adapters

- Right Click on Standard VGA Adapter

- Click on Update Driver Software

- Click on Browse my computer for driver software

- Browse to where you extracted the RAR file ( ex: C:DRIVERTEMP )

- Ensure Include Subfolders is checked.

- Click Next

- Windows does its thing, Prompts for Restart. Do so.

- Enjoy.

I included the 32-bit drivers in addition to the 64-bit drivers, in case x86 users are also experiencing the same problems.

ATI Mobility Radeon X1400 Driver
Let me try to explain my issue. I've been using Windows 7 Beta Build 7000/7057 x64 with out much trouble. At first it didn't recognize my video card but after updating/running the improve performance tools, it downloaded and installed successfully. However after upgrading to build 7077(clean install) that's no longer the case.

it's running using integrated graphics (which compared to my normal resolution of 1400x900 it's a strain in the eyes). Is there any way to make Windows 7 find/use such driver? since the ATI support page it's pretty much useless as far as laptop video cards are concerned.

But when i get into any game i get horrible performance compared to the original driver Windows 7 installled automatically (WDDM 1.1). My framerates halfed the usual ones o got, and sometimes less.

Can anybody confirm if this is normal considering these are beta drivers, or am i unlucky here? I was forced to roll back my driver and now im getting much stable fps...

Driver Issue (ATI Radeon Mobility 4670)
I just bought a new acer (link) and proceeded to install windows 7 (64-bit) straight ahead. I must admit i made a bit of a mistake when i didn't check if the box it got shipped in contained any drivers or such (which it didn't to my surprise!)

Currently got experience with 32-bit Windows 7, but not with 64-bit which I've heard had a rough time with bugs. Because my system is a 64-bit platform i suppose this might be one of the reasons for my problems. On a side note, this system is shipped out with both onboard gfx and an extra card (the ATI 4670 one)

But on to the main issue; Currently my problem with this system is an issue regarding my ATI mobility radeon HD4670 GFX card. (This is the drivers I've tried soo far:
ATI Catalystâ„¢ Mobility Display Driver - Directly downloaded from the ati.amd.com site (this is by chance also the latest native win 64-bit driver) http://www.acer.com - Go to the driver section and select the right system (Acer Aspire 8935G).

Sadly there is no windows 7 drivers atm, only vista ones. Without any drivers, this is how my Device Manager list my display units. As you will notice windows update have already found some driver for it. But the Device will not start (This device cannot start. (Code 10))
