A Lot Of BSODs On Win7

Feb 9, 2010

I have a MSI GT725-212 Laptop and I get BSOD’s more than 5x every day.

I bought the computer with Vista 32-bit installed and had absolute no problems, then I upgraded to Win7 Enterprise (the 90 Day trial) and started having a lot of BSOD’s, I thought it was because of some driver which weren’t installed, I searched them in 64-bit and installed them. Device manager shows out of the Teredo Tunneling Pseudo-Interface no problems.

Even then I had BSOD’s very often. Yesterday installed I Win7 Pro 64-bit (Formatted C: where the OS was but D: remained unchanged). I had the same devices with problems (IR receiver and Memory Card slot), I installed the 64-bit drivers and the device manager didn’t complaint any more out of the Teredo Tunneling Pseudo-Intefase (In both cases I disabled these.). Even with the new Win7 Versions I remain having the BOSD’s and I don’t know what else to do.

Here can you find the contents from the Minidump directory

Win7 (32bit) To Win7 (64bit) Upgrade Install Error

Nov 8, 2009

I have purchased and downloaded both 32 bit and 64 bit Windows7 Professional (no CDs or media here only download version)

I sucessfully upgraded from Vista 32 to Windows 7 32

Then I upgraded my hard disk (140Gb 500GB) and RAM (3GB to to 4GB)

Now I would like to go from Windows 7 32bit to 64bit

When I try and run the Windows 7-P-retail-en-us.x64.exe file it upacks the box then stops with this error:"We are unable to create or save files in the folder in which this application was downloaded. Please check the folder properties to make sure that you have security permission on the folder to write flies and that that folder is not read only".

I am the System Admin and I have full rights, and have moved the exe and the setup box files to My Documentsand I have modified the directory properties/attributes but I still get the same error over and over.

I searched the posts and some people stated one needs a clean install others say you can upgrade from any version so I am trying the upgrade here especially since the upgrade from Vista 32 to Windows 7 32 was smooth and did require all the extra work of a reinstall.

Upgrade Win7 32bit To Win7 64 Bit In Place

Is it possible to upgrade in place from Windows 7 32bit to Windows 7 64bit.

Is it better to do a clean new 64bit install?

Reinstall Win7 32bit To Win7 64bit

Oct 28, 2009

I purchased the Win 7 Pro Upgrade 32bit via digitalriver, but I've been doing some reseach and probably should have selected the 64bit version.

- Any ideas how I can get the 64bit version?

- For those who ordered the 32bit back-up disc kit for the extra $15 and have received it, does it come with both 32bit & 64bit?

- I've already installed and activated the 32bit version, but when I go to install the 64bit version, will I need to / is there a way to deactivate my initial 32bit install or will this not matter?

Creating Bootable USB For Win7 X64 Using Win7 X86

Sep 23, 2009

I'm currently running 32-bit Windows 7 (Professional, full version) on my laptop, and want to use this machine to create a bootable USB drive with 64-bit Windows 7 (also Professional, full version). I tried going through the steps that are available on various tutorials online, but I'm always tripped up while attempting to use bootsect to make the drive bootable; basically I get an error saying that I need to be using a 64-bit OS.

I don't have convenient access to a computer with 64-bit Windows Vista/7 (I work at an academic institution where all pubic computers have XP or Linux), so I'm wondering if there's any way to get around this and create a bootable USB for 64-bit Windows 7 via a 32-bit OS.

Too Many BSODs

Nov 21, 2009

I thought I had all my problems worked out. This is not the case. My computer was working fine. I installed most of my programs, surfin the web, doing what I do on my computers. So I shut it down for the night.

I turn it on the next day. BSOD. The first BSOD doesn't even have an error listed.

This BSOD happens a couple times.

Then I get a different BSOD saying APC_INDEX_MISMATCH. This one only shows up one time.

Then I get another saying SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION. But I've already rolled back my ATI drivers to their original state. I try to run chkdsk /f but everytime the computer restarts it just goes back to the log in window, without running chkdsk.

I'm completely lost here. Where should I start?

Keep Getting BSODs

Jan 1, 2010

I have an HP Elitebook 2530p with Windows 7 Professional 64-bit, and I keep getting a BSOD with the error message "DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL".

The first thing I did was do a memory and hard drive test. Unfortunately, both came up clean. Then I updated my sound, video, networking, webcam, extra button drivers and BIOS. Still getting them.

Any other solutions I should try or information I should provide?

Persistent BSODs On PC?

Dec 25, 2012

So I've been experiencing persistent BSODs on my PC for the last few days now. I can't recall anything being changed in that time to warrant the sudden appearance. So far I've counted 5 in the last 2 days. I've googled the BCCodes (d1) but just get a very vague idea of what I'm looking for.I've included the relevant .dmp and my system details.

Bsods On New Laptop?

Aug 8, 2011

these crashes are somehow related to power management. everything is fine until the machine turns off display, at which point weird things start happening. first it was constant usb device added/removed sounds. so i tinkered around with power options, making sure to disable any sort of low-power mode aside from turning off display. since then ive changed settings back and forth and found the machine in various weird states, sometimes bsod, sometimes recoverable.the laptop is a dell e6420 and os w7pro.

Getting A Whole Slew Of BSODs

I seem to be getting a whole bunch of blue screens of deaths. I am not really sure now to problem solve it. They seemed to all start after a few power outages and, because I am a dummy, I didn't have a UPS and things just kind of got killed. The errors that I am getting are PFN_List_Corrupt ; IRQL_Not_less_or_equal ; and Memory_Management.

PC Unidentifiable BSODs When In Normal Use?

Jan 29, 2013

I have had my desktop a while, however it continues to frequently shutdown randomly for an unknown reason. Initially I suspected it was a bad PSU, so had it RMAd, however same problem exists. It should be providing plenty of power to the mobo and other devices being a 500W, however I read on other forums the particular model has tendancies to automatically shutdown at PEAK LOAD. Its a OCZ ModXStream Pro 500W. This is darn annoying if it is and may still be the problem. It might be another software or hardware issue though. I have fresh installed it before suspecting it was drivers, with default recognised drivers for GPU etc. However problem remains. All hard ware is compatible[CODE]

BSODs After System Restore?

May 7, 2011

When I upgraded my video card months ago I had problems with the video drivers causing BSODs. I fixed that problem after updating the drivers properly.Just recently I reverted to a restore point and now the same problem appears to have come back. The restore point seems to have created a mismatch in drivers or a windows update. To fix the problem I've updated multiple drivers and I still get BSODs. It most often happens when playing a game. Sometimes the games graphics appear to be skipping and having trouble and then the BSOD happens. I have had BSODs without having anything intensive running too.

Various BSODs On A Fresh Install?

I had a lot of trouble with blue screens on this system (as per profile) with a previous installation too, but never got round to dealing with it properly. So now, it's a less than week old installation that I've put very few things on yet, but crashes a *lot* when I try to run games. Does blue screen outside of this, just not as much.

The error codes vary, but most common is IRQL_LESS_OR_NOT_EQUAL.

BSODs Occured During Booting Up

Dec 24, 2011

Some months ago we bought a Eee PC1015PN. It had Windows 7 STARTER installed. After using it for a while, the netbook seemed to be slow and bloated. So I chose to get a Windows 7 ultimate. After Windows installation, I started to install the drivers from asus site. Installing the video card drivers was a pain, I had to reinstall the windows once again because of this. The problem was, I installed the wireless drivers and connected to the internet, then installed Graphics Switch and selected OPTIMUS, restarted, but then WINDOWS started installing both drivers.

5 BSODs In One Week Most When Idle

I have had 5 BSODs in the past week, 2 today in fact. Most of the time the computer is idle when it BSODs, sometimes I will just boot it, log in, and then after 10 min. or so it will BSOD, so I don't know of any reliable trigger.I am using Windows 7 Professional SP1 64-bit on my Dell Dimension 1525 that I purchased in August 2008. It came with Vista Ultimate 32-bit and I installed this Windows 7 64 in May 2010 I believe.

Experiencing Various BSODs While Idle?

Mar 3, 2012

I have been experiencing various BSODs over the past month on my computer, which I only built this January. They mostly happen while my computer is idle, but occasionally they occur while I am doing general activities, like browsing folders or the Internet. Recently I've seen them while starting games (tonight it was GTA IV: Episodes from Liberty City), but most of the time I can play games for hours without experiencing BSODs.

[code]...

I have tried reinstalling my OS. I am not overclocking. I've run MemTest in overnight tests, first on one stick, then the other, than both sticks - no failures. I've tried to make sure all my drivers were up to date, and I've turned Driver Verifier on - had a few related BSODS but haven't been able to track down any conclusive info on what they indicate. I've also run FurMark to stress test my GPU, and that test passed. I have also downloaded Crystal Disk Info and HD Tune to test my SSHD and HD, and both look to be fine.I am not sure what else to do... I think it is either the SSHD or drivers, but I`m not sure how to further track that down.

Various BSODs During File Copying?

Jun 2, 2012

I've just got a new PC and while trying to copy over files from my old computer, I keep getting various BSODs (codes 24, A and others). These happen either during copying files between harddisks, or just creating RARs on harddisks. I suspected the old harddisks first, but the errors keep popping up even after disconnecting the old drive and just working with the new one. So after reading around on the forums a bit, my guess are a faulty harddrive or RAM. I already ran a chkdsk /r /f on all drives. I also tried the Windows built-in memory check with the default settings, which didn't seem to turn up any errors. I will try Memtest86 next. However, it would be nice if anybody else could have a look at the dump files, maybe it's something else entirely?

Windows 7 Professional 64bit OEM, original installation
