3Dmark Vantage (Trial Version) Causing A Blue Screen Of Death
When I installed the program it installed flawlessly. Yet when I go to run the test itself instead of starting to play video I consistently get a blue screen of death. I can try to replicate it more and get the exact message if it would be helpful. Anyone have any ideas? All of my video card drivers are up to date.

WLAN Autoconfig Service Is Causing Blue Screen Of Death
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium, I have been uninstalling certain programs off my computer (Norton) and I had encountered a problem when I restarted my computer. I was able to go as far as the windows logon screen, and after a certain point in the startup sound it started replaying the same 30 ms or so of it, definitely signifying a bug, and had brought me to the bluescreen. It had dumped an error file, and basically all it was telling me is that there was some sort of issue with one of my Driver. This doesn't seem to be the problem. After I had started the computer in safe mode to view the dump file, I had restarted my computer in safe mode with networking, but the exact same error had occured, telling me it was something with the network. So I went back into safe mode, disabled a bunch of services through the msconfig, and had individually started those processes back up one by one to see what the problem was. My wired LAN works now, but if I try to start the service "WLAN Autoconfig" it will cause that error. I had reinstalled my wireless driver, but that doesn't work. I am not sure what the problem is, so I kept google-ing to see if there's a way to connect to the internet wirelessly without this service running, and I have not found anything on this. So my question to you is: is there a way to work wirelessly without the use of that service? Or, is there a way to resolve this problem without reinstalling my OS?

Tdx.sys Causing Blue Screens Of Death
I setup a new Linksys WRT610N router today, and saw that feature to hang USB drives off it, so decided to swing my Maxtor off it (it was hanging off my W7 rig). Now I'm getting blue screens left and right on tdx.sys. Didn't install any other drivers, the only other thing that has changed with respect to the system is it's now using the network connection at 1g rather than 100m (my old router didn't do the 1g). No new drivers installed. Culprit definately seems to be accessing a hard drive share hanging off a that router. I have no problem accessing WinXP Pro shares on my laptop from W7, nor accessing shares off my Win2K3 server. Just seems to be barking on accessing the shared drive when it's hanging off the new router. My laptop (Winxp Pro) has no issues accessing the shared drive hanging off the Linksys.Sure hope they get this one fixed before release. Looking forward to that overall setup.

Nvidia GeForce 6200 Causing Blue Screen
I've been getting the BSOD when trying to open pictures or videos. I thought it was due to installing DirectX 9.0, but I've since reinstalled Windows 7 RC and started fresh again. Now get this. Everything worked fine. I used the 'generic' video driver that gets installed with Windows 7 RC and just upped the resolution to 1280 x 1024. It worked and looked great, even pics and vids worked, but anything that was graphically taxing became very choppy and pixelated; especially videos. So I installed the drivers that came w/ the Gfx card, everything runs smooth and crisp, but I'm no longer able to look at pics or vids. I get the BSOD every single time. This leads me to believe that the Gfx card driver is the issue. Any known fixes for this?

Win 7 Backup Error Causing Blue Screen
I just upgraded my HP computer from Vista to Win7 Home Premium through the free upgrade program that came with my computer. I went through the process as the directions stated. Thought everything went well until I hooked up my Seagate FreeAgent Desk 1.5TB external HD to run Windows Back up. Everytime I try to run Windows Backup, it almost completes and then I get the error code 0x80070002 'cannot find file'. I does not tell me what file it cannot find or anything. Also what happens is the system becomes ridiculously slow. When I try to restart of shut down the system, I get a blue screen. In addition, if I try to just transfer files over to the external HD, it becomes slow like when the backup error occurs and I get a blue screen when I attempt to restart or shut down. It has happened five times now. I don't have the debug software on my computer to read the .dmp files. I am by no means an expert with computer, but I can get by if someone can give me some directions to go about how to fix the problem.Â

Virtual PC 2007 SP1 Causing Blue Screen
Is anyone else having this problem? I have a Windows XP SP3 virtual machine running from Virtual PC 2007 and at random times it casuses a hard stop. The blue screen states something to the effect of "CPU2 timer did not respond in the allocated amount of time", or something like that. I can be using the virtual machine for 1 minute or 1 hour before this happens, there is no obvious trigger to the crash. I'm running the 64 bit version of Windows 7.

Blue Screen Of Death After Upgrade
I recently purchased the upgrade to windows 7 from vista and have had nothing but problems. After spending 12 hours on the phone with microsoft i got nowhere. I was told to reinstall windows 7 but still have all the same issues. After about 30 minutes or so it crashes and i get the bsod telling me Driver_power_state_failure with the corresponding error code. Microsoft obviously has no clue as their techs had me on the phone 12 hours and knew less than I do.

Safari 4 Blue Screen Of Death
Just installed fresh brand spanking new official copy of Win 7, followed by just as fresh and spanking copy of Safari 4. Tried to run it - blue screen of death with the customary memory dump. Did a little digging and realised -Apple screwed it up, big time. Well things happen, so I figured I will try Chrome (anything but that slow poke Gomez AKA IE8). And then it hit me - MS screwed-up too. Big time. Win 7 is not supposed to crash because of an application chrash, and it does so on a regular basis. So my question is - while I wait for the Apple to fix their snafoo, what MS is going to do about their own even bigger foobar?

Blue Screen Of Death Update From 4/13
After restarting my computer after the recent update (on 4/13), Windows tried to finish it as it loaded windows again. Before it could finish i got the Blue Screen of Death. I tried it several times with the exact same results. I was able to boot it in safe mode and it appeared be working fine. It reversed the update as it had failed. When booting back into regular mode, windows got as far as to show my desktop before bring up the dreaded Blue Screen again. I again booted into safe mode, did a system restore. It seemed to do no good. Any suggestions to fix my issue? Or has anyone seen this happen to them?

Blue Screen Of Death Issues
I have a problem with Windows 7 and one of my computer. This unit is BSOD four to six times a day! I think that I have gotten a handle on the problem but I need some help from people smarter than me on Windows Debugging.  First of all, this unit ran for half a year using pre-beta, beta and RTM with no trouble at all. This unit was on 24 x 7 and at times I had VS2010 beta and Office 2010 beta plus whatever garbage I could throw on it and it had no trouble at all!! I decided to take this box should be targeted for Windows 7 and SharePoint development. Again using it to test the waters. One of the requirements if I plan to install SharePoint 2010 on this box would be x64 bit OS. Originally I had 4 gigabytes of memory running (x86) and everything was fine. I decided to boost the RAM to 8 gigs and install 64 bit version of Windows 7.  WOW this was a nightmare! Soon after installing Windows and VS I notice that the box had recovered and I asked myself, from what? I realized that the shutdown improperly like when you loose power or something. I paid no attention to this and continue load software. A day later, the box was attempting to recover again!? This time it told me it could not and had to go back a bit before it found a good image to restore from. Finally when it came back, I noticed Visual studio was no longer installed!! For the first time, I go to event viewer and found that the box was shutting down improperly a great many times. While looking at the logs the box showed me a blue screen and shut down. I took memory out, back to 4 gigs and that help a little but it was still unstable. I went to ASUS site (it is an ASUS mo bo) and downloaded all 64 bit drivers I could find and installed them. This seems to stabilize the box so I got confidence to put back the memory. Before I tell you what happened next I like to say that at one point the BSOD where occurring with a degree of frequencies and the drivers cut the incident to less than 25% but they were still there. At this point the machine what having BSOD incidents about two to three times a day.  I got it in to my head that it may be a power related thing. So I scaled back to four gigs of ram and the box seem to be stable now? Okay, I guess you can argue that I found the problem. In the process of doing all of this it became apparent to me how weak I was regarding troubleshooting Windows problem. It was more about magic and guess work than deductive reasoning. I would like to become a little more proficient with windows debugging and was wondering if you guys could point me to good diagnostic tools, perhaps some good books and any other trick and tips.  I found Dumpchk.exe but this tools is going to require some detailed attention before I can master it along with the Windows SDK. I think the problem I am experiencing may require a bigger power supply and some power tweaking at the bios level. Any ideas and suggestion?

Crashes With Blue Screen Of Death
I'm using an HP Pavilion DV7 Entertainment notebook. I've installed 7 Beta and had NO issues. I installed 7RC and it crashes daily. I have the .dmp files for analysis. HP has nothing to do with 7 yet because its not a GA release. How can I go about diagnosing where the problem is so that i can see if it can even be fixed? I've looked in the event logs, temp folder under my user name, .dmp file, looked at installed apps, the antivirus (Kaspersky), +++. I use predominantly MS apps. there are a few non native Microsoft apps such as Nero 9, Kaspersky, Blackberry Desktop, etc. any suggestions?

Quick Blue Screen Of Death
Got the blue screen of death today. Using Windows 7. Q9450 processor, 4GB of DDR3 RAM, 790i motherboard, nVidia GeForce 9800GTX. I did not install any new programs, change any settings, hook up any new devices or hardware. I woke up, hopped on and started using Firefox to read up on the Haiti earthquake. Clicked a link to a safe news site and Firefox locked up. I couldn't escape and tried opening the task manager via CTRL+ALT+DEL, no luck. Finally the screen faded and the pop-up on the top left corner appeared, asking me if I wanted to cancel the process for Firefox since it wasn't working. I'm guessing this is a new feature to Windows 7, since it's happened to me a few times since I got it. So I canceled the Firefox process through this method and it closed a bit later. But then nothing worked. The task manager still did not appear and I couldn't open anything. The screen faded again and this time it said Windows Explorer wasn't working. I didn't worry because I got this message a few times before. I said yes to cancel, expecting it to reboot itself and start working again like the last few times. But it didn't. Just locked up. So I turned off the PC via the power button and started her back up. Got to the Windows loading screen. Took longer than usual. Before I even got to the account selection screen, a very quick blue screen of death flashed before immediately restarting.Went through the usual POST stuff. But then it said Windows was experiencing a problem, do I want to repair Windows or start normally. I tried to repair but to no avail - just a black screen. I waited about ten minutes on this black screen and it was later replaced by a blue screen with the Windows logo, and I could move the mouse around, but no options to repair or anything else. So I then tried to start her up in safe mode. Same thing: quick BSoD, then restart. I can't even read the text of the BSoD, it flashes by so fast. I tried starting her up from my last known good configuration, no go. So I'm not sure what to do. I'm half tempted to just buy a new hard drive and start fresh, or maybe somehow get Linux installed and working. I don't know what to do, so hopefully someone has a solution for my problem.

Blue Screen Of Death At Startup
well i have been having this problem with my PC. I got win7 like a month ago and it was going pretty well. Just last week i got a new second monitor a 22 in dell and it was fine i ran dual monitors before with a 19 in with no problems. Now is when things started to go downhill. I was just surfing the web one day and suddenly my screens went black. I was like wtf for like 5 seconds then everything reappeared with a windows error box saying windows has just recovered from a Nvidia driver failure. I was like ok... i thought nothing of it but the next day when i turned on my computer i got a screen with red lines through it everything loads until it gets to the windows icon and then, boom blue screen of death. I then tried every single repair windows option. with nothing working. Even put in my old hdd witch has windows xp. still blue screen of death. Now i know you may be wondering why i did not try safe mode. See i have some unsigned drivers for my ipod on my pc so I have to click f8 at start up to chose disable driver reinforcement. If I do not my mouse and keyboard do not work. I can only run one f8 command so if i chose safe mode i will not be able to use any mice or keyboards. So that's my predicament now if anyone has any clue how I can fix this that would be great. I have one 7600gt on my PC right now. Is a video card problem probably but i have no way to fix it.

As it was working previously on a different machine, it appears to be a harware issue. Anyone else seeing this?

Blue Screen Of Death - STOP: 0x0000000C4
Was having continual problems with BSoD. Previously was getting a STOP: 10000007e (4 parameters) message. I looked through various forums and tech support for help/suggestions. I ran chkdsk, cleaned up the registry and other obvious things, although it seemed to be a driver problem. I then ran the Driver Verifier to try to id the actual driver that was causing the problem. This gave another BSoD with the following: A device driver attempting to corrupt the system has been caught. The faulty driver currently on the kernel stack must be replaced with a working version. *** STOP 0x000000C4 (0x00000040, 0x00000000, 0x86D22A08, 0x00000000) Beginning dump of physical memory Physical memory dump complete. Blue Screen Of Death When Setting Up Mirroring
We have created a fresh install of Win 7 using the latest version. All goes well and very impressed with compatability etc until we try to set up mirroring in through the management console. There is a 100mb sys partition, 100GB OS partition and then a third partition of 1.4TB.We are using Segate Barracuda 7200 rpm Sata-3 1.5TB drives. These drives wrk perfectly in XP/Vista. When we create the 100mb partition it mirrors fine but as soon as we try to create the 100GB OS partition or the 1.4TB partition, after a few minutes, the Blue Screen of Death pops up. The event ID is 1001 with Qualifiers 16384. Guid of ABCE23E7-DE45-4366-8631-84FA6C525952. Has anyone come across the same issue?
