.NET Runtime Optimization Service?
May 5, 2012
I have a Critical Event in Applications. The faulting application is mscorsvw.exe. During a search of my computer I found a duplicate of the file in in the same path, the only difference was the size.Upon trying to open each of the two files, I discovered that neither would open and both are application files. Looking at Properties I discovered the the files are the .NET Runtime Optimization service. Upon looking in Services, I discovered that .NET Runtime Optimization is not mentioned.. how to fix the application error?

A new Samsung 840 pro SSD is on it's way with the courier and I will remove my present OCZ and will install a fresh Windows 7 pro. At present I have the SSD divided in 2 partitions C:system and D:Programs my first question regards the opportunity to keep the 2 partitions: is it good or bad for the SSD?
1) make an iso of partition D:programs
2) remove OCZ econnect the Samsung SSD
3) Check Uefi bios if AHCI is marked
4) Install 7 on C: (automatic alignment od the SSD)
5) Create partition D:
??Optimize?? Is it better to do it at this stage? Or after having installed various programs? I think at this stage but would appreciate your suggestions including what sort of optimization is advisable. I could eventually use RT7.Then I would copy from the iso all the programs on their own place D: and from the various distribution files will make the various setup (just for the programs to be registered in the Registry)

I've been doing a lot of research on this and I know this topic has been covered a million times, so please bear with me. I'm specifically wondering about the "file-optimization" features in third party defraggers such as Diskeeper or Iobit Smart Defrag (which I use). I know that Microsoft has refined their own defragger, but it seems to me that it has no obvious file optimization and it of course does not have real-time defragging. I've been using Iobit Smart Defrag for a long time and it seems to do a good job of keeping my computer in shape. But, if the Windows 7 defrag works good enough, I'd prefer to just use that and get rid of Smart Defrag to free up CPU and RAM. I'd obviously lose out on the real-time scanning, file optimization, and the boot time scan that Iobit just added to their latest release. But, are these features really necessary for fast, clean performance of Windows 7? Or are these just gimics from third party companies to get me to purchase their software.

While windows was uploading some updates yesterday, I cleaned my registry using Iolo's system mechanic tool and that's where the problems started. (I already read and understood your message: don't use those tools and stay out of your registry. A lesson I learned too late, unfortunately.)My computer rebooted and after a couple of minutes I noticed the message: " failure configuring windows features reverting changes ". I managed to bypass this loop by running in safe mode and recover my computer to a restore point in the past. This only worked partially: I get windows to run in normal mode but I get this message: "system failed while restoring the registry from the restore point. Restore point damaged or was deleted during restore". So it didn't restore but I can get into my windows now.So I don't get the 'reverting change loop' anymore, so I can access my computer but what's the mess? Well my computer is slow as hell.Like mentioned above, I already looked around on this forum and wrote down what I already tried. [code] My computer is terrible slow because of a registry defrag/optimization of a registry tool (in combination with windows update) --> I need to find a way to get back my old registry files but system recovery ain't working.

I have a Dell XPS M1730 with Windows 7 Ultimate and it was doing an iTunes update and the lid got closed during the update process. Now when I start the computer up it says "the user profile service service failed the login, user profile cannot be loaded". The computer starts up in safe mode and won't let me do a system restore because it says it is shut off. When I look at User Profiles in Windows 7, it states that the users profile is as backup and the default profile is the local profile. How can I fix my computer to get my user profile back up and working?

I am NOT sure what has happened, I have been having a HARD TIME "trying" to get directv2pc to run on my computer...IT is BRAND NEW I have only had it a week!!!!!! I searched through Toshiba sites and found where to download some drivers that was "suppose" to FIX it!!!! Then when I went in to ck for updates on all of my drivers/programs/etc...there were two sets that had multi-sets, I think were some of the downloads...There were a few drivers that were NOT even downloaded onto the computer...which I did NOT know till I did the total computer update one by one!!!! I have had several computers but NEVER had as MANY problems with one until I purchased this JUNK! (Sorry, I have had it with this Laptop, LOL) Can you tell me HOW I can fix this last error.

I've been receiving a runtime error for over a week (see below) in IE8 when atempting to go to a specific webpage. At first glance, it looked like a server issue (mine) or a website "down" problem. After searching the web, I could not find a solution for this specific runtime error. There was a bunch of misinformation posted in other forums! The solution was so simple.... I cleaned out all cookies with CCleaner and the page was available.....This error does not show on a "pop-up" like the Microsoft samples. Thus, Microsoft was no help to me in this instance.
Error:
Server Error in '/' Application.
Runtime Error
Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine.

I keep getting " Runtime error Program: c:windowssystem32DllHost.exe
This application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way."
I can close this window but it reappear in a few seconds. It seems that it is not affecting my system at all but the window is really annoying.
If I create a new user it resolves the problem but when I run Windows media Player the error appears in the new user.

I've just started getting the message 'Runtime Error 216 at 004045a6' whenever I try to open a program called mp3 book helper. The program ran fine yesterday. This morning, however, before I'd had my coffee and so wasn't thinking straight, I clicked on a link in an email from a friend, an email that turned out to be from someone who'd hijacked my friend's computer. Anyway, I have run a full antimalwarebytes scan, and it found nothing. Because Runtime Error 216 has been associated with the Sub7 trojan, I'm a bit nervous and am wondering what else I should do to confirm that I either do or do not have a virus somewhere on my computer. I am running Windows 7 Home Premium 64, by the way.

Yesterday I started getting this weird error saying: "Runtime error 216 at 0000000000409E35" on startup once everything else has booted up. It happened after I updated my graphics drivers. The morning of the day it first occurred I got a window notifying me of an update and usually I simply update it then and there and nothing goes wrong. However, after that, I turned my PC off and went to play Basketball with a friend for a few hours. When I came back and turned it on, the error message appears. ScreenShot of the error:

There are a half dozen threads from the past several years addressing the same issue - none have a solution or explain what the cause is. This is the exact text of the error:
MS Visual C++ Runtime Library
Runtime Error!
Program: C:windowssystem32
vvsvc.exe
This application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information. In safe mode the startup stops at ATiPcie.sys; search found similar black screen with mouse complaints The machine setup has worked fine for several months, and shutdown without any events last evening. This morning at startup the popup with a black screen appeared. I have tried all of the suggestions posted on the treads.Events: Attempted to install autocad2012sp1x64.exe but it did not install due to the version installed is Civil 3D 2012 not ACAD2012. Installed PublishDWGtoGE.zip without issues - a new icon appeared in my ACAD GUI but have not tried it yet Changed my clear temporary files at startup script from shutdown to startup, restarted several times and seemed to work fine Cleared several GB of temp files that ACAD C3D accumulates - this has been done several times without problems This machine is used as a CAD workstation and is not used for games, entertainment, social networking (besides help forum threads), or other common uses that attract viruses. The only web browsing is to read the news and email. Note that this machine has a PCI-E solid state harddrive in Raid 0 - occasionally it triggers a disk check at startup due what has been assumed a driver issue that results in a poor shutdown, it has not been anything more than annoying - one of the other threads had a similar SSD raid 0 setup. I removed the startup script and ran a checkdisk in case they were conflicting. I have access to the drive through a backup drive running the same OS; the specifics of the machine setup are documented here on a wiki page cee241:software:settings:tower [CIFE Wiki]
