Xbox 360 Extender: Connection Failed

I recently had an issue with my xbox 360 extender after disabling one of the media center extender services in vista x64 ultimate. After trying trying to connect to the media center service i got this error: Connection Failed
The Xbox 360 cannot connect to the Media Center based PC. Make sure the Media Center based PC is turned on and connected to the network. If you continue to see this error, check Media Center Extender Help on your Media Center based PC. Did a little digging and found this MS KB which resolved my problem.

I am using windows vista ultimate and I get a message error on my xbox 360. The Xbox 360 has experienced a failure and was disconnected from the media center based PC. Would you like to reconnect? Vista Ultimate is installed on my laptop for work and I wanted to see how this works but never got it connected. I was able to determine that the cause was the Novell Client for Vista version 1.x, it seems all versions cause this problem. Now I need the client for work and have already filled a bug report with Novell but have not been able to see were to report a bug with MS. I assume it is a Novell issue but I have seen MS KB fixes for novell so wanted to report it to both sides.This never worked with or without sp1 for vista.

First I had a linksys router and Media Center Extender worked grate, but the router broken, then I bought a Netgear wgr614 v.9. But since I started to used it. My Media Center does not recognize the xbox anymore. My xbox live works fine and I can see my xbox through the windos but I can't connect to Extender. what is the problem with my extender?

I am struggling to connect my XBox 360, as a Media Center Extender, to my HP Pavilion TX1410US laptop (which is running Vista Home Premium). I had a Windows XP Media Center computer hooked up over my existing home network and it worked fine. I deleted that connection through the first computer and disconnected it through the 360 as well. I was able to obtain a new setup key through the 360 and enter it into Media Center on the Vista computer.
On the 360 side, I am able to get an all black screen that says "Windows Media Center contacting..." in the center of my TV (through the 360), but it always ends with a "Connection Terminated" or "Media Center Extender Error." On the Vista side, I am able to go through all of the steps of setting up an Extender, but it always fails to connect at the last step.
I know that the two can see each other, as I am able to stream music from the Vista computer to the 360... I just cannot make the Media Center work! I have spent a lot of time troubleshooting this using online forums and Microsoft instructional pages. I installed Vista SP1 about halfway through and achieved the same results as before.................

I have been having ridiculous amount of trouble setting up my Linksys DMA2200 extender and I am a tech. I finally set it up and I also creating some instructions on how to set up the extender properly. Hope this helps you in getting your extender to work and save you the time it took me. All the updates listed are required and I do not have Service Pack 1 installed. I am using the advanced firewall ON in Windows and not using LiveCare and running AVG and no problems. View my site to see the list of items required for configuration to get the Windows Media Center to work properly with the extender. Also, the other link below has all the codec's that the DMA Extender to work. If your extender drops connections constantly set your NIC card to not go into Power Save mode. If it continues then reset the extender (Button in Back) Note: Need to hold it for 30 seconds. Then, turn on the extender and reset to Factory. Repeat setup process. If extender continues to lose connection after turning off again then contact Linksys or Seller for replacement.

I have tried everything that I could find on the net in the last week, and this is my last step before I call Microsoft. I cannot access media center on my 360.
I tried to hook up my 360 as an extender. It connected to my vista pc with no problem but when I tried to play an internet video, my x-box would lock up. Note: that my own pictures and videos played fine and some of the internet videos, like "news", played fine also.
Before I got carried away with diagnosis I thought I would check for updates on my pc. First, I found that my old Antivirus software was now available for 64bit OS so I dumped McAfee (hated Mcafee) and reloaded PC tools Spyware Dr. w/ AV & decided to purchase Reg Mechanic also at the same time. I ran the AV and Registery Mechanic and fixed all errors and then retried to run the videos on the MCE x-box. Now I get either "Connection Terminated" or "Connection Failed" every time I try to set it up.....

Whenever I open Mail, it proceeds to do the automatic send/receive function, but then I continue to get this message: The connection to the server has failed. Account: (my e-mail address), Server: 'mail.three.com.au', Protocol: POP3, Port: 995, Secure(SSL): Yes,Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E and it says 0 of 1 tasks completed.

I just set up my Windows Vista Mail so it retrieves the emails from our website. Previously I was using the webmail. I did it all with the help of Fasthosts Support over the phone and it downloaded 14 messages fine.
But since then when I Send/ Receive All it gives this message:

I have checked with Qwest about the correct ports, 25 for outgoing and 995 for incoming. SSL is checked. My server requires authentication is checked. Incoming mail is POP3.live.com. Outgoing is smpt.live.com. I have Windows Vista Home Premium Service Pack 2 with a 64 bit operating system.
