View 6 RepliesI'm running MS mail on a vista 32 bit Toshiba laptop. I'm unable to send and receive mail to my wanadoo mail account. I receive the following messages

I have followed the other threads and changed the server security settings.
I am unable to send or receive email using Windows Mail. I get the following 2 error messages: The connection to the server has failed. Subject 'Rusten's Photo', Account: 'suddenlink.net', Server: 'suddenlink.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

I have Norton 360 and have disabled, then uninstalled and reinstalled, and tried other changes. Can anyone help me figure this out?
for several days I have been unable to send email though can receive ok. this error message appears: The message could not be sent. The authentication setting might not be correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. search for "Troubleshoot Windows Mail", and read the "I'm having problems sending e-mail" section.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI cannot receive or send emails on Vista Windows Mail. This infuriating situation occurred exactly one month after receiving the new computer with Vista Home Premium already installed. My old computer is connected as a small network. When the problem initially occurred on 7th June it said "Receiving 1 of 8" but never did and after a while (1/2 to 1 hr?) I logged off and logged on again but to no avail. I thought maybe a big photo or something was coming in but nothing eventuated. I accessed my email via Optus Web Mail and saw that there was nothing there bigger than 493KB. The main error message I receive is Account: 'mail.optusnet.com.au', Server: 'mail.optusnet.com.au', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC19

I have telephoned Optus (Australia) 5 times but they insist it is a Windows Mail corruption problem. No one was able to tell me what this error message actually means. Another issue that may also be connected was when I downloaded a trial version of a home video editing programme. It cut the 30 day trial by about 8 days, finishing on June 1st. June the first I thought? Why June 1st? I asked on the forum but they could not explain why.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm having problems with Windows Mail, I can send mail but can't receive any. I've talked to my provider, they tell me that my set up is fine, but they don't know what's wrong. I'm getting error message of 0x800ccc0f. I've even tried other mail programs, like Thunderbird and Outlook. They don't work either and are giving me the same error message. I'm using a cable connection and haven't had this problem before, until a bought a new computer with Vista. The first day or two, my emails worked great, did not change any settings nor added any programs. Then all of a sudden, started getting the error messages. The only way that I can view my mail is to go to my providers web site and use web mail, which is a pain. I'm just about ready to junk vista and go back to Windows XP. at least, I didn't have problems like this.

I am using windows Vista Ultimate and Windows mail. It was working properly at first for a few days then receive mail quit working with an error, but the error box was empty. I am using McAfee Security Center without email scanning. I have found I can send and receive email if I do it independently by choosing the send only and receive only option pulldown, but NOT if I use the send/receive button. An error message comes up with the message area devoid of a message. It is not a McAfee problem. I even went so far as to take the advise found in this forum and uninstalled all of McAfee and this did not solve any problems. All the fixes listed in several of the answers do not work with Vista Ultimate. Says wrong version (so apparently the fixes are for the home edition only, or at least not for the Ultimate).
