SP1 With Office 2007: Crashes Then Starts Up Again With A Blank Screen
Apr 15, 2008
After installing SP1, every singe time I close an Office 2007 application, it
crashes then starts up again with a blank screen. I have:
**Uninstalled SP1 twice
**Installed Office 2007 twice
**Run Office diagnostics that tells me to repair Office
**Ensured all windows patches are current
**Ensurred all MS Office 2007 patches/upgrades installed
**Talked really nice to it.

Whenever I try to access the help (F1) from any of my office applications the help window appears but is blank. Neither my online or offline help are working for any office applications. I get the index displayed but that's all. When I click on an item in the index nothing happens. I'm running Office 2007 SP2 with Vista Ultimate SP2 & IE 8.

Originally, I had Office 2003 installed in my computer, & a trial version of 2007 that had already expired.
Today I installed a full version of Microsoft Office 2007, without removing any of the other two versions from my computer. I realized that it seemed to automatically remove the older version. I`m not bother about it not being there, as I got the new version, but I wonder if this is an automatic uninstalling that Office does, or if the version is still there but I can`t see it, as I would like to remove it properly if it`s still somewhere in my computer.
I checked in Control Panel & the only thing I can see is "Microsoft Office Enterprise 2007", the full version I just installed, & everything that come with it. No 2003 anywhere.

I know you can do this document-by-document by opening each document individually and clicking "Upgrade" or whatever, but is there a way to convert all your Office documents at once?

I had IE 7, it "broke". So I downloaded IE 8. Still did. I then used my recovery files to replace the ones I had. Thinking my program folder was broken. To anyone who says use firefox. I am, its that certain websites love IE*coughrobloxcough* and will not work in other browsers. This is what I am doing... Clicking Internet Explorer, it doesn't open up. 1 minute later it does but its blank. I can type in websites but it will not go to it. It can't close so I have to use CTRL+ALT+DEL to manually close it.
I am going to try CC to see if it fixes it. What sucks is that all my restore points are somehow "gone" and now I can't go back to the one I went to before that fixed this problem. I also try Registry Booster to see if it was a DLL error, It didn't fix anything. I also found out this isn't ONLY an internet explorer error. You know how Windows comes with a Windows help menu that pops up once in a while? Well, all the images are red X's. Tried using the registry cleaner and the normal cleaner to see if it fixed anything. It did not. I can't find the security options for internet Explorer because its not even there. Is there a way to uninstall IE8 so I can go back to IE6?

I have just reformatted my computer and had a clean install of Vista business and service Pack 1. Everything is running perfectly except for one "small" problem. For no reason whatever it seems Windows Explorer crashes and immediately starts up again.. I don't lose any information and everything appears to be normal after the restart except for the fact that my icons go to different places even inspired off "saving the icons".
All my drivers up to date, my BIOS is up-to-date and I can think of no reason why this should be happening. Nothing in particular seems to start it. It will sometimes happen when I click on icons or right click on the file that I want to delete etc

Every so often, and for no apparent reason, my Start Navigation sound will go away. This is the click sound you get whenever you click on something in an Explorer window or web page. It's easy enough to fix on the face of it - open the Sounds control panel, find the Start Navigation entry, which will be showing a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark, meaning it can't find the file. Click Browse, select "Windows Navigation Start.wav" and all done. Easy (doesn't really explain why windows couldn't find it though).
From that point on, every time I bring up an Open or Save As dialog in Office 2000, everything I click on produces a Ding! This is the standard Windows Ding.wav, listed in Sounds as Default Beep. If I then disable...........

I just replaced my 10-year-old PC and am trying to install Office Home and Student 2007 on my new Vista 64 machine. Unfortunately, whether I use the autorun or manually double-click setup.exe on the disc, nothing happens. I get an hourglass briefly, the disc spins in the drive, and setup.exe appears in the task manager for about three seconds then disappears. Nothing else happens.
I've downloaded every available update from Microsoft. I'm logged in as an administrator, I've tried to right-click on setup.exe and select run as admin from there, I've tried changing compatibility mode to XP SP2, and nothing seems to work.
I've been searching online for awhile now and can't find anything with regard to this issue. Has anyone seen this before? Or, can anyone give me some suggestions? I didn't anticipate any problems because I read in many places that Office 2007 runs fine on Vista 64, so I uninstalled Works and the free 60-day Office trial from my new PC before I tried to install the full version of Office to avoid conflicts. Unfortunately, I don't have access to Word or Excel now, and it's going to be a problem.

I'm wondering if vLite can be used in the same way in this tutorial to slipstream SP1 & SP2 into Office Home and Student 2007 and create an installation disk.
Could I follow the tutorial doing the exact same steps to accomplish this?

The Office 2007 icon on my start menu inexplicably became nonfunctional this week. I'm running Vista Home Premium x32. I tried uninstalling Office 2007, but I get the message: "Setup could not find any available products to install. Please contact your system administrator." If I try to reinstall using the original disc, I get the message: "Setup has stopped working." I've tried to follow the instructions at 'How to uninstall the 2007 Office system if you cannot uninstall it by using the "Add or Remove Programs" feature' (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928218/en-us) for uninstalling without using the add/remove program, but I am unable to go to any "choose details" menu on the view tab ... it doesn't exist, so I can't continue the instructions from there. I don't have a second drive to try installing the disc from there. The disc is brand-new, not dirty or damaged. I've defragged the computer.

Have to Remove Student Home Office 2007 Trial(non-commercial)first. Cannot remove through programs, Ccleaner or Revo Uninstaller. Somehow it mysteriously just went from "Trial" to "non commercial Trial"? I also had trouble when I originally installed the triall, they turned it off after a week, til I emailed them and they sent me a link. Probably Reman issue again, they probably thought I already had my trial period.
Getting same 1402 error as many others here...since I cannot uninstall through Programs...going by "Article ID: 928218"....tried 4 times. I should point out this is a reman computer and I did have Office 2000 on here before, before trying out the trial. May be some remnants left over. So there may also be possible remnants of Office 2000. Can I run the Installer Cleanup Utility(290301)after removing Office 2007, or will that mess up other programs? I'd rather not use it. What a mess....I know!................

I repaired and uninstalled then installed Office 2007. I opened Excel up and search for my Excel Spread Sheet and open it and then save as on my desktop like I always do. Then when I double click on the Icon I get "Windows can not find C:User etc. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. Any excel spreadsheet I have I get the same message when I double click on it. I check the path and it is correct.

I need to uninstalled the trial version of Office 2007 (because I have Office 2003), but when I go to programs to uninstall it is not shown as being installed. As a matter of fact, several programs are not showing. In researching this I found that it is a common bug in Vista and found a fix through Microsoft, but too complicated for me to perform. The problem it has caused is an automatic update, updated 2007 and now my 2003 is not working properly.

I bought a PC with Vista Home preinstalled. Needed Vista Business. I had to format the drive to get it to install. Now, after working fine for 3 months, when I try to upgrade to Office 2007 Vista stops the installer service and pops up a message stating that "this is a beta copy that is no longer supported by Microsoft, please upgrade".

In every way that I check, I am the Administrator. Nevertheless, everytime I try to update Office 2007 with MS patches, it tells me that I must be and Administrator in order to update. What on earth do I have to do? I tried going directly to MS home page, by clicking Windows update from my Start Menu, but it just ends with the same message with no choice to respond. If I check the User Accounts, it shows me as an Administrator. Suggestions?
