Qos Bandwidth Limiter

Jan 17, 2010

I ran the registry file to disable the 20% bandwidth limiters reserve and did a reboot. When I ran a speedtest from speedtest.net it was only 291kbps download and less on the upload. What did I do wrong?

Network Bandwidth Degradation

Dec 24, 2008

I am having issues with my Vista machine's network bandwidth ---It is a WIRED connection to a Linksys WRT54GS using a Marvell Yukon 88E8071 PCI-E 1GB network adapter. Over the course of time the Vista machine is up, the network bandwidth download speed decrease significantly ( 60% of what it should be ). Rebooting restores the bandwidth to what I think it should be ( My wirless XP machines (2) work perfectly ). I have updated the network adapter driver, removed the MMCSS dependency, and disabled TCP autotuning parm ( using netsh ). Nothing has worked.

Internet Bandwidth Monitoring

Aug 11, 2008

I am looking for software for Vista 64 for internet download bandwidth monitoring. I have Tautology Bandwidthmeter. Tautology Bandwidth Meter - Internet Traffic Usage Monitor and Netmeter. Net Meter - LAN Net Meter, WAN Net Meter, Broadband Meter, Broadband Usage Meter allready. obviously programmes Vista 64 compatible would be idea, but Vista 32 compatability or even just XP compatability would be okay as a lot of stuff will run in Vista 64 that was designed for Vista 32 or XP.

Tweak To Disable Bandwidth Limit In

Nov 6, 2007

type GPEDIT.MSC in search box then a Group Policy Object Editor will popup. Under Local Computer Policy click or expand Adminstrative Templates next click or expand Network then click on Qos Packet Scheduler (remember dont click on the expander here just click on Qos Packer Scheduler) Now double click Limit reservable bandwidth (You will see Not configured which is the default settings but in reality Vista has already taken 20% of your bandwidth to reserve for updates and stuff like that.) Now click on Enabled then in the Bandwidth Limit (%) set it to 0 then click apply then reboot. tried it and it does work. no big dramatic gain but it works

Vsta Network: The Vista PC Will Transfer Data To WHS Or XP With Very Low Bandwidth

Apr 3, 2009

I am running a small home network. Configuration: My DSL WLAN router Zyxel Prestige 660HW-67 acts also as a 4-Port switch with 100 Mbits/s. Attached to this router are

1. Vista Business x86 SP1 with RTL8139/810x-Family onboard
2. Dell T105 server running Windows Home Server SP2 (Windows 2003)
3. Windows XP SP3 using WLAN

Problem: The Vista PC will transfer data to WHS or XP with very low bandwidth (150 kbits/s) The other way round will work with more than 10 Mbits/s from the WHS. Transfering data betwee WHS and XP will work fine in bot directions. So it looks like Vista is blocking outbound traffic. The Vista PC also runs F-Secure Internet Security 2009. But te firewall allows all traffic in my home domain (mask 255.25.255.0). I uninstalled the network adapter, installed the newest driver from Realtek but no change in the low outbound traffic.

Windows Dvd Maker"Bandwidth"

May 11, 2009

I have recently started to use windows dvd maker and I am trying to put several .avi files onto one dvd. I have two problems when trying to do this:

1. I cannot fit more than 150mins of playback on a disk (no matter what the size of the disk is) In one circumstance I was using 4.38gb media and was 3minutes over capacity so I bought some 4.7gb media but still have the same problem however on using third party software I can fit a lot more onto the media even when i only use the smaller dvd.

2. I cannot add titles too the chapters. I have read a lot of people have the same issue and that I can add my own using windows movie maker. I am prepared to overlook this small issue if there is a way around the first issue? So my question is, is there a fix availabe for my first problem? If there is no fix available can anyone suggest any third party software? 1 have tried a lot of programs but they are all missing at least one of the following required features:I would like to:
1. Add multiple .avi files onto 1 dvd splitting into chapters
2. Have a menu like the windows dvd maker "Bandwidth" menu where it takes a short clip of all .avi files and merges them into a short 30sec video.
3. Add title text to each chapter.
