Powers Off For 10 Secs Then On

Basically Since I've put in a temperature gauge for my Kandalf case it's now will not shut down. well it does shut down and powers off (i also have an intellipulg thing but i'm sure thats fine) everything goes off monitor pc all the lights inside etc... then about 10 seconds later it just turns back on. Can't see how the temp gauge has done this as all that does is gives a display and takes one power molex so can't turn it back on. Have made sure that it's not on wake on lan/wireless. and turned off wake on usb keybored etc.

everytime i log on to my PC (vista) the monitor will stay on for about 5 - 10 secs then go idle, but not stand by or shut down. i have to press the monitor power button frequently to try and get it to fire up,eventually(after a few re-boots) it will stay on,the OS is still working in the background but no screen.

My Vista x64 PC is randomly powering off. MSI Neo4 Diamond MB, AMD athlon 64 X2 4200+ CPU, 2G ddr2-800 ram, 1TB and 500GB SATA drives, ATI Radeon HD4350 video card. started a couple months ago. either you get into Vista and are working and suddenly pow... it goes off like pulling the power cord. sometimes it will do it right before the screen gives you the login to Vista..Thought it was a power issue and upgraded a 500W supply to a 750W modular unit. No change... have completely disassembled the unit, cleaned everything, cleaned the CPU/heatsink and put new Arctic silver in.
I can sit in bios all day watching the hardware monitor and the CPU never get's over about 30-31 Degrees C. Voltages are good and steady. as soon as it's booted to Vista, it starts... even sitting idle it will do it. I have Windows XP and Windows 7 RC on the 500G drive. if I boot to either of those OS's, it will run for days without ANY issues... it is ONLY vista that has the issue. I thought it may have been the drive, so I made an image and restored it to the 500GB drive, then removed the 1TB drive from the system... Same issues.

Have HP DV5Z-1100 Notebook running Vista home premium 32 bit.
Machine is running on the power supply Put to sleep using Function F5.
Machine sleeps, all indicators off except power light and light on power button which blink at 2 second intervals.
Machine will sleep as long as 12 hours or more, but will also power off possibly in less time.
Hitting the power button wakes machine with message, "Resuming Windows"
Loaded latest version of BIOS as per HP support
Reinstalled Power Manegement as per HP support.

I cannot get my Vista box powers options mode to go to hibernate. It's simply no longer listed as an option. It once was. Also no "Hybrid sleep mode" listed as well. Once was. Looking over the web I see people use the cmd line with:-
powercfg -h on
When I do this I get a message:- "You do not have permission to enable or disable the Hibernate feature." I am the only user and I have administer status. What gives?
