(Running Vista Ultimate 64-bit.) My system is up to date, except that I have not downloaded and installed IE-8. MS has not offered me SP-2 via the automatic update process. Is there a connection between those facts? Must I download and install IE-8 in order to be offered SP-2 via the automatic update process? If not, I wonder has SP-2 been offered to all Vista users yet?
View 9 RepliesI have had problems with windows updates and can't install some prerequisite updates (937287) for SP 1 and newer. I don't know why, but I troubleshot this issue for a while about a year ago and then forgot about it. Now some newer updates are available that I can't install (IE8). The machine seems to work ok, but it has been recommended I do a format and do a clean install of vista.
