Cannot Send Emails On 2 Of 3 Accounts
Feb 11, 2009
I have been using Windows Mail for close to a year with no problems. I have three email accounts. The primary account is fine. The other two accounts I cannot send emails. I get this error message:The message could not be sent. The authentication setting might not be correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. For help solving this problem, go to Help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Mail", and read the "I'm having problems sending e-mail" section. If you need help determining the proper server settings, please contact your e-mail service provider.
The rejected e-mail address was 'ciao@comcast.net'. Subject '', Account: 'ciao@comcast.net', Server: 'smtp.comcast.net', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '550 5.1.0 Authentication required', Port: 587, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 550, Error Number: 0x800CCC78 I called my ISP and they said all is fine on their end. I installed IncrediMail and all three accounts work. Receiving and sending.

I've Just created a new, second email account, using a different email address with the same username and password my isp gave me when I set up my first one. The problem is how can I see the new accounts emails? I've sent emails to the new account but when I try to access them using "Windows Mail" (I'm running Vista) I get nothing? If I send an email from my first account to my first account it comes through ok!

I did try Live Mail but prefer not to have emails divided into seperate email accounts - it makes quick checking more difficult. Is there any way in which this division can be avoided?

setting up windows mail on new hard drive and can't seem to figure out how to get it right. I am using a live.com email adress. I have already tried getting rid of antivirus stuff and fiddling around with security things. When i click send/receive mail it goes through and tells me i have no new emails which i know isn't true, i have 10 sitting online. I emailed myself and got a new email online so i know i can send them. When i click pop3.live.com under the send/recieve all button it gives me this error: The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'pop3.live.com', Server: 'pop3.live.com', Protocol: POP3, Port: 587, Secure(SSL): Yes, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

I have worked for hours trying to set up an email account through Windows Mail. I have an email address through at&t. I contacted at&t. They gave me the incoming (pop.att.yahoo.com) and outgoing (smtp.att.yahoo.com) email servers. They also told me that the outgoing server port is 465, and the incoming server port is 995. I've created an account with these specifications. But Windows Mail cannot send them out for some reason.
