Greetings everyone, a new member here. I am currently running Vistax32 and about to build a new system. This time I want to install Vistax64. Is anyone out there running Bell Sympatico's Security Manager software on Vistax64? Bells website says no x64 software, but they e-mailed me today and said yes, it runs on x64? I was hoping somebody out there could share their experience with me.

The ones I have sort of work but do stop occasionally and leave me hanging until they respond again. This is a pain while playing online games or talking on Skype.

Now it doesnt do anything, no bleeps, no lights on the mouse and keyboard, the fans are running and there are lights on inside the case, but it wont boot up, the monitors are working although they just go onto standby after a while. Ive been told i could have damaged my power supply and or motherboard, what size would the power supply be, which should i replace first.
My 1 year old Dell Inspiron 518 came with Vista Home PremiumX64, and the warranty expired a week ago. They won't talk to me without charge.
I have a blue screen. One error was a Stop 0x00000050, Fatal System Error c0000221 - Unknown Hard ErrorSystemRootSystem32
tdll.dll. Another blue screen error read, 0xc004D301 Security Processor reported the trusted data store was tampered.
I was able to go under the Boot Menu and run a diagnostic. It said Error Code 2000-0123 (Memory Integrity Test Failed).
I haven't been able to get Windows to load at all, nothing I try is working, and I don't want to spend money for servicemen to come in. Anything I can do that's not too involved?
Just one problem I have lost my recovery disk and I now need to make one but I don't have a Packard bell recovery mangement program. my Model is a Packard Bell Easy note EN MH45
My computer is running the concistency check. It's at stage 3 and when it's almost complete it's starts to "replace invalid security Id with default security id for file ******" it's been doing this for a while now and I was wondering what I can do to speed it up. It's currently at 170000, and if I try to restart the computer the login screen will not load if I skip the disk check.

I have set up a network account with the correct details. My system does connect to the network, however, in the network screen the network is shown as "incorrect security information, WEP security required"

It needs some clarifications:
In Pavillion and Presario notebooks, HP Rec Mgr does more than just System restore. And btw, HP does not have its own version of SR. It runs Windows' version.
HP Rec Mgr has other functions: Re-install original software programs and hardware drivers and complete System Recovery restoring the original hard disk factory template. It can be utilized to create a set of recovery discs.
In HP Business notebook, Rec Mgr does not re-install software progs and drivers but does the others listed in Pavilion/Presario models.
I don't think HP Recovery Manager should be uninstalled. Or if perchance, he meant uninstalling System Restore, be aware that HP Rec Mgr will be unable to system restore on its own if Windows SR is unstalled or disabled.
Just about 1-2 weeks ago i was sitting comfortably in my living room gaming away when i noticed the game i was playing started having problems. In the mist of playing my keyboard locks up and mouse freezes and i can't move my character at all. I can't even alt+tab to task manager to fix the problem. I noticed the windows vista error sound play and then a few seconds later the game resumes normally.
I thought it was the particular game, but when i ditched it and started playing navyfield i noticed the same problem occurring there.
Anyone have any idea what could be causing this problem? I was thinking driver related problems or possible graphics since the problem never occurs outside of gaming. When the problem happens the green lights for numb lock etc.. quickly off and on. I have disabled trusted installer thinking it was lag durring game and that cause the information to pause....I have recently reformated my hard drived with the disk that came with the computer and did a full installation of windows updates.

View 5 Replies View Relatedthe infamous fake "Vista atnivirus 2010" somehow got into my system, with its unstopable topups that would never end until I did this. the program was av.exe, and is indicated in task manager as gav.exe *32. This is a hidden file in the folder (user)/AppData / Local. To resolve this issue, I did the following:
1. Start task manager.
2. Right-click the file in task manager
3. Select the option gOpen containing folderh.
4. Close task manager.........
I no this may be a nooby question but my task manager is all weird, its stuck on ythe process window and i can change it.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI was having problems with my pc freezing. Took it in for a diognostic and everything came back fine. They said it was a Vista problem.
So, I reinstalled the operating system disk and put windows back on the PC.
Now when I turn on my PC I get the Windows Boot Manager screen asking to choose operationg system to star with two versions of Vista to choose from. The first on the list is the rebooted (new) version. If I click on the second one, it is my old version with all my old files and programs.
Funny thing is, I am not having any issues with the old version any more.(YET)
Is there anyway to get rid of the rebooted (new) version windows so I can stop getting the windows boot manager whenever I start the PC? I rather keep using the version with all my old programs and files since it seems to be fine.
I ran XP, I installed Vista to the next partition, I want to eliminate XP,but the Vista boot MANAGER is on the XP partition. I tried hiding the XP partition, booting the Vista CD and doing a repair (twice) but when it boots, it tells me NTLDR is missing.

It doesn't shut down frozen (non responding) programs including WindowsMail, IE7 or MozillaFF... all of which "stop responding" constantly. We're all getting sick and tired of having to reboot to get anything done online. I can't find any infections on this PC which has WDefender, Avast, Spybot, Adaware, A-Squared and ZoneAlarm. We ran all these programs, updated, several times and no viruses or other crapware was found. This Vista Home Premium is less stable than the old W98 we recently gave away. In fact we had less problems with W98 than we're having with Vista.

View 9 Replies View RelatedThis morning,I opened up the Task Manager and noticed that there are no longer any options such as Applications,Processes,Services,Performance,Networking,and User(thosetabs are no longer available).
In addition File,Options,View,Windows,and Help at the top hasdisappeared also.
Also,the minimize,maximize,and close out buttons have disappeared inthe upper right hand corner,so I can no longer minimize or close thetask manager window. However,when I switch to a different user,the taskmanager window is normal and all those options are there.
I would perform a system restore to a date and time of last night at11:00 pm or sometime yesterday,but I was having trouble with my internetconnection last night and yesterday and I'm afraid if I go back a day insystem restore,I will lose my internet connection again because Belkinhad me change some settings yesterday and last night that allowed me tostay connected to the internet.
I guess GigaGet is no longer developed but I like it a lot. I was wondering if anyone knows what settings to use in order to avoid "the url already exists" when downloading?
Other than that nuisance, I really like using this downloader. There must be some setting I haven't figured out to get it to stop tracking what I've already downloaded and just download the thing I want!
Ok so for a few days now my audio has not been working, I use it quite frequently with itunes and dvds etc but not ever very loudly. I've been on my laptop's website and have tried everything they've suggested except for system restore, and nothing has worked. I've made sure my computer is completely updated, I have downloaded the newest update of the audio driver from the website, and still no luck. In Device Manager it says everything is working, I have no error signs either. The mixer picks up the sounds when I test for it, I just can't hear it! It doesn't work with headphones either, although when I plug my headphones in and pull the socket in and out a little bit I can hear crackles in the headphones.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have Vista Ultimate 64 (upgrade) and the system began performing slowly about a week ago. Seemed like it was having problems accessing the drives (RAID 1). I performed a Restore which seemed to help, but after awhile it slowed down again. After some checking around I found there were no devices listed in the Program Manager. I looked on the web and found something for XP where you check your Plug and Play in Services - mine has all the buttons greyed out (can't even pause it)
The odd thing is that you can boot up, log in (that takes awhile), and browse the web without any difficulties. It's just when you want to look inside a folder that it freezes, and after while, shows you the contents. At this point, I'm going to do a repair from the installation disk if there's no other solution available.
I just got a new computer with 64-bit Vista Home Premium, and am having some issues with devices. When I connected my Lexmark X6100 printer, Vista recognized it and even took me to the website to download drivers, which I then installed. when I bring up Printers in Control Panel, the Lexmark is not listed. The X6100 also includes a scanner which again Vista found, but it directed me to the same download as for the printer (not surprising). There is an entry for the Lexmark X6100 in my Start Menu, but the only option there is to uninstall the software.
My old computer ran XP Pro and the Lexmark worked perfectly there. There was even an icon in the system tray that appeared at startup. A second issue has arisen with my webcam, a Logitech Quickcam Pro 5000, which Vista also recognized, and there was a prompt which looked as though it was from the Logitech driver asking for a disk which I did not provide, because I didn't think it was necessary. The cam also worked well under XP without any additional software installation.
Vista's Device Manager reports that both devices are working properly, but I am unable to access either of them. I also installed a program called PDF Factory which I used as my default printer on my old computer, and it's working just fine - and it shows up in my Printer panel.
On an HP m8120n, I had HP replace the DVD drive that came installed (didn't do DVD-DL). New DVD drive worked fine for 2 months, watching movies, burning CD's and DVD's, but now can't watch commercial (legit bought or rented) DVD's. Quick search of these forums I found this link - which I d/led and ran. It stated there might be a problem with the ASPI layer. Quick search of that turned up something about turning DMA off (or on, forgot what) and that I needed to go to Device Manager and find the IDE ATA ATAPI tree. Here's the problem, I don't have a +tree that says IDE ATA ATAPI. Should I?
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy computer has Realtek HD Audio Manager installed on it as the main audio manager. I have 4 speakers plus a subwoofer, so I set it as 5.1 speakers and unchecked the button for a center speaker in the manager so that it won't make my sub act as a center. However, on the back of my desktop, the jack for the sub is also the jack for the center speaker. So, whenever I listen to my music, it won't use my sub, but if I check the option for having a center speaker, it tries to make my sub act as a center speaker, which makes it sound awful.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have been trying to figure out how to burn myself a set of Vista Recovery discs so that I have something to fall back on if my Win 7 installation is not to my liking. The problem is, whenever I try and use the Recovery Manager to create the discs I am met with the error: Sonic: PX.dll not found. I have not already created any discs in the past and I havn't ever had any Sonic software installed on my computer. My burner functions perfectly as well. Does the D: drive contain actual images (.ISO) that I could use to burn a set of discs, or is it a process the recovery manager has to do?
